Jim is awesome!!! One Saturday we got the idea of updating our landscaping ourselves and quickly realized that we needed a professional. Butchers went beyond our exceptions and now all our yard looks amazing and is much easier to maintain. He provided fantastic recommendations on plants that would fit out look and do well. He also gave us a sod and curb professional to finish the look. Cant wait to finish the project.

We contacted Butchers Nursery on getting our front flower beds updated. They quoted old material removal, installation of ground cover material and decorative stone on top. Great price, met their delivery projected timing. An excellant job when finished!

Went to Butchers Nursery today for the first time, just right around the corner, and just to look around. Wound up buying 2 small palms for the Lanai. Prices were good. Best part was the wonderful, helpful young woman (owner). Will definitely be back soon!

You tend to get what you pay for and, when you hire this nursery, they make sure you consider the money well spent. He looked over our newly purchased subdivision property (that was terribly overgrown), recognized what needed to be done, provided expert and cogent advice, and gave us more than our value by making sure that areas of the property, that were not part of his original quote, were cleaned up so as to not detract from the looks of what he DID quote. You can probably find folks wholl do a cheaper job, but I doubt youll find anyone that does a job with more bang for the buck.

Butchers Landscaping did a complete landscaping all around my home. Most of plants were 27 years old! Long over due . Jim walked me through the process and listened to my vision and came up with an amazing plan of what plants would work best for me. My vision is now a reality . Jim and his team are hard workers . I would recommend this business in a heartbeat.

This was my first time coming to this nursery and I will definitely be visiting again. Great selection of bright, happy, and healthy plants. The owner was very helpful despite difficult weather (it was raining pretty hard). She made me feel like I was the only customer there while also being very attentive to the other customers needs. 10/10 recommend!

Butcher Holler as we call this Nursery has provided years of bushes shrubs, flowers and small trees at a great price providing valuable advise saving us wasting money. Just recently we replaced a create myrtle. Jims guys did a really good job, in and out fast and no mess. The short drive out 92 is worth it.

After struggling for 5 years to continually trim our viburnum bushes that the builder planted on both sides of our home, we decided we needed them removed and easier to maintain bushes installed.Called around to find someone to do the work and most, I guess, didnt want the business. Jim called me right away and assured us they could do the work. He gave us an estimate that was more than reasonable. We had to wait a while for the bushes to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. The crew arrived as scheduled, which for Florida, is something to be said in itself. The guys worked hard and did the job as requested. They were very respectful and kept us informed as they went along, making sure the work was done to our specs. We were told ahead of time that there would be breaks in the drippers, and they repaired them and tested the sprinklers before they left. Everything looks beautiful and we are very happy 😊

Pleasantly surprised! These guys used to be at the Flea Market for many years. They now have over 5 ACRES of beautiful trees, shrubs, flowers and more. The guys on duty were extremely helpful in planning out my new landscaping project and suggestions for soil amendments and soil prep/watering. I definitely learned a lot! Their prices are very reasonable. Bought beautiful Bird of Paradise, Hibiscus, Passion Flower Vine and more. I will be going back for more!

This place has so many beautiful plants! They are very helpful and knowledgeable when looking for something specific. We are making this our place to go when we need plants.

We first went to Butchers when we needed to re-landscape our backyard after a large renovation. We were hoping to do the work ourselves after paying significantly for the house renovation but needed expert advise about what to plant.Enter Jim: he took a fantastic amount of time discussing our lighting, irrigation, and willingness for upkeep. He gave us a wealth of information not only about plant choices but suggestions for how best to reinstall our sprinkler system since we still need to do that after the reno. We were able to install all the plants ourselves per Jim’s great instruction and felt great about the job.6 months later: our landscaping is even better than I had expected! The plants grew beautifully. We went back to get more expert advice on how to now re-landscape our front yard since we are so, so thrilled with the outcome of our backyard. Once again, Jim was there with wonderful suggestions for layering our flowerbeds and we begin installing the plants ourself this week.

Thanks to Jim, I finally have the proper palm for the harsh location beachside. His plant knowledge is a great resource. He figured out what I needed, ordered and installed it.

Everyone that I dealt with was very helpful and knowledgeable in picking out plants that would suit our yard. Jim even had me show him a picture of the front to determine color and size to help optimize the look we wanted. I had a problem with a few of the plants dyeing because we received some much rain the day they were planted and for days and even weeks after. I called Jim and he said no problem and replaced them. I will recommend Butchers to everyone. They go the extra mile to make their customers happy.

Came in with my pregnant wife and waited for over 20 min for help without even seeing a staff member. Its understandable if they were short staffed, but the one guy we eventually saw didnt acknowledge us or attempt to multitask between us and the people he was helping for so long. Thats bad customer service. Its a shame, because we drove all that way to spend big money, but decided to take our business elsewhere.

Butcher’s is amazing. I needed a lot of bushes removed and all new plants and trees put in and they did a wonderful job. They are quick to respond and get the job done!!! I would not go anywhere else. The BEST around.

Good selection of beautiful plants, found exactly what I wanted but better! The lady working today was amazing, I believe her name was Amy. My daughter dropped her plant we just bought and she took her time to help us clean it up even though we insisted she didnt have to. Will definitely visit again!

Jim was great to work with from start to finish. We brought him pictures/measurements of what we currently had and he helped us get a game plan together on what plants to use, spacing etc. The guys putting in the plants and trees did a great job with that as well. What a great group of people to work with! This is the second tree that I have bought from them and they have both been installed beautifully, I received excellent directions on care and both trees have thrived. Their prices are reasonable and they actually communicate with their customers. I would recommend them every time. Call them first and save yourself a lot of time and work!

I wanted to get a special tree for my son and his familys yard. The only problem was that Im in South Carolina and theyre in Florida. I did online research and called around to various nurseries in the area and asked questions pertaining to certain types of trees. Everyone here is so nice and accommodating, especially Jim! They held my tree for me that I bought prior to a hurricane and tropical storm and kept me posted on how it held up until they were able to install it. They were so flexible with my schedule for installation and always returned my calls quickly for any questions I had. My tree was in great condition when they delivered it! Butcher’s Nursery is absolutely the best!We just had our property landscaped by Jim and his crew, and they did a fantastic job! The plants and trees they put in are beautiful and very healthy! They removed all of our old plants and meticulously cut new beds for us. All old foliage was removed and all of the dirt was cleaned up daily while they worked. We couldn’t be happier with their work! We would give them 10 stars if we could!

Shocked how beautiful this place was inside..Would never think the place was that Large from parking lot... Had all the plants on my list. Each plant had a sign & price with description of helpful information.Was able to lay out different plants to see how design would look before i got home.Staff was wonderful.They put all the plants on Carts,put plastic down in my vehicle &Loaded plants in my SUV while I was in the office paying.Ive never recieved help like that with out asking 1st or waiting awhile to get help. They were on it.. Made my experience enjoyable.Ill be back to do my back & sides of house..

I wish I could give these guys 10 stars! BUT I CAN ONLY GIVE THEM 1.Julie and her crew came out to our home in the evening to install some beautiful mature citrus trees one that already had fully grown fruit. This company guarantees their trees in writing.It was a surprise for my wifes birthday...A few weeks later...The trees were dying... I called and spoke to Jim a few times. I text back and fourth with Jim many times. He asked me to send pictures of the trees, I did. They gave me other suggestions and I did them too. I have been getting nothing but excuses and promises from him.It has been 84 days since I first express dissatisfaction about the trees and they still have not replaced the trees as promised.Landscaping by Butchers Nursery DID NOT HONOR THEIR GUARANTEE.Since the trees costs us $500 I am left with no choice but to file a lawsuit.

This garden nursery is the very BEST! It’s an oasis! You go through the gates and the selection of plants, shrubs, trees is amazing. My husband and I bought a Bird of Paradise and a Butterfly Bush. The Ownwr is so kind and knowledgeable. We will be returning to buy our trees from this nursery — when a you’re happy customer, that’s what you do! Thank you! GREAT JOB!!!! A beautiful result. Easy to work with. Knowledgeable, hard working, caring people. Bushes are all high quality and planted in a very artistic arrangement. Prices were fair and the work was really good. What more can I say, I give them 5 stars!!!!

I purchased five mature trees from butchers nursery which were installed in December. Two of the trees sustained serious damage due to negligent mishandling during the transport and or install process with one having a serious crack in the base which goes around the tree. The cracked tree was so bad one of the two arborists I hired recommended drilling a metal pipe through the tree to help stabilize it while it attempts to heal itself. This tree and a Hong Kong orchid both were also installed with large areas which were identified as neurcrotic dead spots by the arborists who both attributed it to negligent handling by the grower or butchers maybe both. The third tree was a mature pink tabebuia which was delivered with several hundred woodpecker holes in it. When I noticed this I was immediately alarmed and questioned the owner about the damage and he shrugged it off claiming it was fine there are no problems. I was pretty sure this is the sign of a weak or diseased tree but trusted butchers nursery. Both independent arborists who have since inspected this tree with woodpecker holes and told me this tree with the holes should never have been accepted by butchers and returned to the grower. This tree is now dying and I have paid a professional arborist $80 to treat it for root rot and fungus. I was told by both arborists that this type tree rarely has root rot and fungus and they feel confident saying the tree was delivered diseased. I have been in contact with butchers who initially told me they would replace the tree but after this one contact they have ignored all subsequent attempts to contact them. I am just so disappointed in butchers as I baby my trees and paid top dollar for these trees only to find they most likely are not going to back up there 12 month warranty. I wish butchers nursery would care about the quality of there trees as much as I do having them in my yard. At a minimum they are very negligent and careless and now it looks like they don’t honor warranties. I will post photos soon and will forward those with the opinions of both independent arborists I hired at my expense to my attorney to take butchers to small claims court. I am not the type of person to resort to this but have been left with no choice. Therefore unless you are buying a plant or tree direct from butchers and taking it home yourself I would think long and hard before purchasing from them. On second thought you could do better just going to Home Depot sadly. Photos have been downloaded showing these claims.UPDATE: I see the owner responded to one part of my review stating that they were in the process of replacing the now completely dead tree in my yard and now will not honor there guarantee as punishment for my review. I ask how would I know you had my invoice on your board for replacement as nobody bothered to tell me your intention ?? What type tree were you intending to replace it with ?? When was it going to be replaced ??? I heard nothing from butchers regarding any of this so while that may have been there intention there was no communication from butchers regarding this. It is telling that this nursery decides to punish customers for reviews and make no attempt to correct situations that were entirely a result of there negligence and miscommunication. It really is just an excuse for them to avert there responsibility to there customers and so called guarantee they use to sell there products. To be fair I will update and amend this review and rating if anything changes and butchers decides to reach out and at least replace the dead tree as per there guarantee. I unfortunately though cannot see butchers nursery doing the right thing at this point no matter how much I hope to be wrong.UPDATE: Reported to Better Business Bureau and as I expected they never responded. Sad that businesses like this rip off consumers but next step will now be small claims court then once a judgement is issued will pursue. Just avoid this nursery unless you have money to flush down the drain as they are just not a reputable company.LAWSUIT FILED

Our experience with Butchers was very positive. They ordered the large number of plants we needed, delivered and installed for a very reasonable price! Every phone call I made to them was returned promptly and they were very nice. We are so pleased with the way our backyard looks!!! Thank you!!!!

My husband and I stopped at Butchers on a referral from a neighbor. We loved the beautiful plants and palms they had. Julie came out and talked to us about what we were looking for. She came out to our house the same afternoon and drew a landscaping plan for around our house. I wanted some bright colors. She choose yellow, blue hot pink. I just love itWe added river rock boarder around the plants. We are so pleased! The plants have only been in about 4 months and are doing wonderful. We will deffiently be going back for more landscaping for our front and back yard. Thank you Julie

This Nursery is AWESOME!The prices are so much cheaper than the big box stores, and their selection is unbelievable!!! They were very busy the day that we stopped by and also short handed. We had to wait a little bit longer than I expexted but it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Jimmy knew exactly what to do and suggested some beautiful plants and trees.

Butchers Nursery is by far THE best nursery in all of Florida!!! Customer service is excellent, the owners go the extra mile for you plus delivery is prompt. If you want trees & plants that will last and thrive, this is the place to go. Im not sure why there are less than 5 star reviews on here but trust me, our landscaping design is absolutely gorgeous! We will never go anywhere else, they do NOT disappoint!

After Hurricane Matthew, I lost a lot of the curb appeal that was around the house which was disappointing since shade in Florida is welcomed. I shopped around multiple nurseries, but decided to buy from Jim because he was understanding, budget conscious, customer service oriented and hard working. Jim and his team showed up when promised and did an amazing job planting and locating all of the trees that I purchased. They did a fantastic job and would recommend then to everyone I know.

We are so happy that we found Butchers Nursery. We went in to find palm trees; the inventory and service was excellent. Requested a special delivery for a celebration we were having at our house and they came through! We definitely recommend Butchers Nursery!!

My wife and sisters-in-law asked me where they should go to find a small tree they can take with them for planting next to their moms headstone in Puerto Rico. I told them the only place they should go is Butchers. They planted four fruit trees for us in the past and we were very satisfied with their selection and personal-care service. EXTREMELY HAPPY & VERY IMPRESSED With this Nursery & the customer service provided!!We just moved to Florida 9months ago into LPGA. Love the house but the yard was let go for a while & needed a ton of work done.We contacted other Nurseries around town to see if we could get some help on what to do & tried several landscape companies to come out to give us an estimate on a complete redo of our landscaping..Couldnt seem to get other Garden Centers or Plant Nurseries to call us back or stop by our house..The only Company that showed up when they said was Butchers Landscaping which was shocking how other companies in this area dont seem to care or need business..THEY DO BEAUTIFUL WORK..We are so Thankful Our nebors recommended these guys.Everything turned out better then we could imagine.If you want great advice, great customer satisfaction, great product, at great prices & do everything plus more this is the Nursery.

After being frustrated with another landscape company in the area, I was so happy to be guided to Butchers Nursery.The family owned business went out of their way to work with special requests, no matter how large or small! They were amazing doing a blueprint of my request, followed up with suggestions of the type and colors of plants to be used. They knew exactly what they were doing! I stopped in here to buy some plants for my yard and was met with the nastiest customer service and bad attitude Ive ever experienced by some jerk who acted as if I was annoying him by stopping in. Never will I buy from this business.

Just awful business! Paid $350 for two trees with delivery and install. They never delivered or installed. After at least a dozen phone calls...and daily promises that they would be there today...(this went on for three weeks) ...apparently Jim is the only one that can issue a refund and once again he would call me. Jim NEVER calls or keeps appointments. I ended up having to have my bank dispute the charge for me. Never again!

Love the new location...This nursery has been around for a long time. We only shop at butchers because they have the best prices. Ive spent thousands of dollars on my landscaping with them and never had a bad experience!We always reccommend to our family and friends.

These people STEAL from you. I paid CASH for some trees (my big mistake was paying cash) and they delivered only part of the trees. After 3 months of promises, and not returned phone calls I still have nothing. I have asked for my money back, but no response. They screen their calls and dont answer me. They have stolen my money ($500.00).. I intend to persue this with my lawyer and perhaps even involve the police since they have essentially stolen $500.00 from me. I understand they are relocating.. probably trying to bury their bad business and start again. RUN away from these people. They are terrible, and dishonest!!

Late winter, 2015: Paid Butchers in advance (big mistake) for work to be done within two weeks. They never showed up. Further follow-up over several months was to no avail. Finally took them to Small Claims Court. Won a judgement against them. They have ignored the judgement and managed to circumvent collection agencies. They own nothing, so attachment is futile. If you want to throw your money away - deal with Jim and Julie. Ive never encountered such con artists. It is now Feb. 2018 and thew chance of getting my money back is more than dim.

Dont buy tropical milkweed there and hope to use it as a host plant for Monarch caterpillars. They swore to me that these plants had no pesticides, yet, all of the caterpillars that ate from this plant died. I thought it was odd when I saw the plants at the nursery and they had no eggs or larvae on them- typically organic milkweed out in the open will have signs of life on the undersides of the leaves. I should have went with my gut. We lost about 19 cats that season. Shame on you for lying to your customers.

Highly recommend this Nursery!!!We shopped around and found that the prices are by far the best in town and their plants are nice quality. Only suggestion would be to get a larger sign, had trouble seeing it as I drove right by the first time. Lol

We stopped at the nursery yesterday, 6/4. We saw a nice variety of planrs. They had some beautiful Rose of Sharon. I would have bought several but upon inspecting the plants, I noticed that they were heavily infested with scale. Upon looking around, I discovered several other kinds of plants were also covered with destructive insects.

Butchers delivered and planted a row of viburnam for me as a hedge, and the guys were very polite and accommodating. And, they educated me about taking care of things. I found them quite pleasant to work with. The only frustration is trying to get help at the nursery itself on a weekend when the flea market is crowded with people.

Hi Everyone...Let me share my story. We live in Victoria Gardens in DeLand and are recent (2 year) transplants from Southwest Ohio. Needing professional and honest information regarding successful landscaping, we invited 3 local companies to check us out. There was one no-show, one that offered a quickie review, and Butchers. We visited Jim and Julie at Butchers and were excited about the quality and the amount of stock at their business. An appointment was then made for Julie to visit us and map out a plan to replace 80% of our front landscape, and Im happy we did. Since our neighborhood has cookie-cutter landscaping (maybe the cheapest stuff builders use), we opted to have Julie help us with much needed color (and thought). Jim couldnt talk me out of a Foxtail Palm (not too cold hardy) so that was definitely on the list. We wanted Drift Roses so Julie showed us different colors which there are many, and then introduced us to the Blue-My-Mind plants which were a must. We added several Coonties to round out our choices. Our HOA approved our plan so we signed the contract for some of the plants to be ordered. Julie, John, and another employee (missed his name) properly planted and watered everything in, and advised us for the future care needed for success. Our neighbors here in the newer section are in love with our choices and new look. We recommend Butchers highly to anyone stopping by to chat. Im glad we found them!

By far the BEST Nursery in town!This place was recommended to me by our neighbors and I am so glad we made the drive down to Daytona. They had everyrhing I was looking for and their prices were so much better than evry other garden center in town. What a wonderful experience! I woukd HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUTCHERS NURSERY!!!

THEY ONCE AGAIN REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE REPLACEMENT PLANT UNDER THEIR WARRANTY, AND ONCE AGAIN I BECAME A VICTIM OF THEIR LIES.ENOUGH ALREADY: THIS COMPANY IS BEYOND BELIEF!JUST READ THEIR RESPONSES TO OTHER NEGATIVE POSTS TO SEE HOW YOU WILL BE TREATED IF YOU HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE LIKE ME.AVOID BUTCHERS OR YOU WILL SUFFER THE SAME FATE.This is a terrible company to do business with. I checked their BBB rating before doing business with them, which was “F” with 8 unanswered complaints. However, I failed to heed this warning, which was a grave mistake that I will never make again.In January 2016 I contracted with Butcher’s to purchase 71 plants at a total cost of $2292.00, which included $525.00 for installation labor. Butcher’s provided a signed warranty agreement with the contract covering the plants that it installs.Butcher’s requires payment in full up front. We were very reluctant to do this because we never pay in full up front. But sadly we paid them anyway and were very sorry to have done so, because only a couple of hours later we changed our minds and tried to stop payment on our check, but they had already cashed it (!) so we were stuck with no recourse.There were extensive delays (many months) in the delivery of the contracted product. Our efforts to contact Butcher’s to get status on our order were mostly futile: calls were not answered; messages were never returned. The few times they were contacted, the owner/managers (Julie Butcher and Jim Gray) offer excuses, make promises they don’t keep (“will deliver next week”), frequently lie (“I’ll call you back” and they don’t), and don’t show up when they say they will.Of the 71 plants purchased, 15 died, about 20%, which is excessive. While some dead plants were replaced with smaller, cheaper plants, Butcher’s refused to replace the most expensive plant, a “15 gallon” (although very small) European Fan Palm, costing $96.30 each, with the absurd excuse that European Fan Palms “never die”. All the plants Butcher’s installed were properly cared for.Customers should be warned that Butcher’s engages in questionable/illegal business practices, sells plants of marginal quality, does not stand behind their warranty, and richly deserves their “F” rating from the BBB.

What a beautiful nursery! Found it driving back from Deland on 92-ISB to Daytona. First time there and was very natural, diverse and well organized. I strolled through like I was in a park. Fair prices!! Beautiful selection!!Butchers is a straight-up nursery. Nearly all plants are 3 gallon pots or larger. Its not focused on knick-knacks, bird-feeders and vases... Its a nursery. Highly recommend contractors check them out, as well as homeowners and plant lovers. This quality of nursery is rare to find anymore. Family owned, and my new favorite!!

If your looking to buy Nice Fruit trees for unbelievable price this is the place to go!!

I have MS and purchased 3 -30 gallon size trees which included the planting of each as I am not capable. I can barely walk and bought the trees from photos which were sent to me.They required me to pay up front $750.00 I did so by credit card. Two months passed and finally after 8 to 10 phone calls and excuses on week 12 the trees came. 2 were 30 gallon size and the other a 7 gallon $45 tree.I refused delivery of the 7 gallon size orange tree, as it was not what I ordered or paid for 3 months ago.I called and spoke to the lady owner who apparently is the Brain Trust of the operation.She said she would credit my card but stated you are aware all sales are final.I replied you never made the sale as you never delivered nor planted what I ordered and prepaid.My card was never credited............I disputed the charge and was given a conditional credit by the Credit Card Company.Finally today after 5 months the credit is permanent. I basically gave Butchers Nursery an interest free loan.I am a retired businessman and never would conduct business in such a fashion.I would not recommend this company They certainly are not trustworthy and in fact are Butchers.

Ive been buying my plants at Butchers for 10+ years but this time i needed help with my yard so I called to see if they could come out to my house to help with my landscaping....Iam so glad I did!!
