I just bought my 2nd vehicle from here. Even though it is a lengthy process, they make it comfortable. Our first salesman was Jacob in November and this time Nick. I cant rave enough! No pressure, no haggling.... They made us feel welcome. If I was looking at a vehicle out of my price range, Nick would point it out, which helped me stay in my budget. Thanks, guys. If we need you again, we will definitely make the trip back to Decatur!!!

I have a new Tuscon. My Air conditioner stop working. I called service and reported the problem. I had to wait for my car and informed them of that. They made me an appointment for 1000. I waited in the waiting area. They got my car in and diagnosed within an hour. I had a control head that was defective and had to be replaced and ordered. They informed me that they would order the module and call me for replacement when it arrived. I was in and out within an hour.

The service department is one of the best I have ever used. They know what they are doing and have helped me with my issues Ive had with the vehicle. On the other hand Im not sure I would recommend the Palisade. It was great when I first bought it but its had its issues. If you dont use the sunroof and never have to have your windshield recalibrated it would probably be great. If your sunroof breaks from opening it or you have to replace a windshield definitely bring it to Decatur. They will get it fixed but you probably wont have intermittent wipers any more. That is all Hyundai and has nothing to do with the service department.

My experience at Decatur Hyundai was very frustrating to say the least. I tried to buy a car from them but for some unknown reason they did not want my money. I negotiated a price with the sales manager that was $700 lower than their original asking price. I was going to pay for the car in full with no financing. The sales manager went into the finance office and they closed the door behind them. When they came back out they back out of the deal we had made and said they couldnt come down any. My wife really wanted the car so I told them I would pay full price. They said they could not verify the funds for the check that I wanted to use for payment so I told them I would get a cashiers check and they said they would drive the car to me in Florence the next day and do all the paperwork then. They never called or showed up. I called to see what was going on and they said they were shorthanded and couldnt come that day. Arrangements were made for them to come the following day. That morning they called and said they couldnt take the car off the lot because the auction was there to look at it. I told them that I definitely wanted the car and I had a cashiers check made out to them for the full asking price of the vehicle and I would drive over to Decatur again and bring them the money and pick up the car. I asked when I needed to be there and she told me if I needed to be there before 6 pm. I took off work early and was headed to Decatur at 2 oclock that afternoon when I received a text message that said they decided to sell the car to the auction. I wasted three days of my time running around and doing everything they asked me to do only for them to sell it out from under me. Needless to say, I wont be back!

Staff was rude and dismissive. When I asked them to work with me on the price, they ignored me and tried to push the sale forward. When I told them I did not agree to that price, the manager became very condescending. I said I would look elsewhere, and he just walked away. Cars priced well over msrp, unwilling to negotiate, hostile staff. Will not be considering this dealer in the future.

We have bought one new car and two used ones from University Hyundai and all three times we had the same salesperson, Natalie. Natalie was fantastic every time and this dealership always gets me excellent interest rates and offered me top dollar on my trade. All three experiences were quite positive and Natalie deserves most of the credit. I am also pleased with the phone calls and emails that I received after the sale. By the way, University Hyundai is nearly four hours away, so if I am willing to drive that far, they must be good!

Im on disability from nerve damage, is suffer from migraine along with mental confusion. I cant get the sales people or person that did this to call me back. I had my sons 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe towed into this service department after calling and describing the issues we were having. An appointment was made for the following morning. 2 days went by and no update from them, so I sent the service writer a text, as they encouraged this form of communication. I got back a simple reply of: no updates, Ill keep you posted. So three more days go by without an update and I called the service writer, Bryn. She went on and on about how tedious this process is and that they cant figure out what is draining the battery. She assured me that the master technician would work on the car all day the following day which was Saturday. I still had hope that they werent bsing me. Monday went by, nothing. So I called on Tuesday and and told me that the tech had to order a tool off of a parts truck and it would be here on Friday. Guess what...Friday rolls around, my husband calls and she said the part didnt come in. At this point, we are 100% sure they havent done anything to diagnose the vehicle. She assured my husband they wouldnt charge us the $250 diagnosis fee. (Note: The Hyundai dealership in Huntsville only charges $120, so its worth the drive to skip Decatur).I love the tight knit military community that we are a part of, and I plan to tell everyone I can to avoid this dealership- whether it be to buy or get a car serviced. They clearly dont need the business and are happy with tackling low hanging fruit. I had considered purchasing a Palisade, but I will go elsewhere when I get ready to purchase. Complete waste of over a week;I just wish they had been honest and told me they werent interested or didnt have the time to diagnose the problem...or maybe their techs arent competent in actual mechanics work. Who knows, but dont make the same mistake we did and avoid this place.

*UPDATE*Following up from my previous review stated below, Mr. Shane Thorton (the General Manager) had contacted me via email and also called me to help resolve the issues I had with my warranty and the horrible attitude I received from the employee. He assured me they were corrected and that I should have no further troubles. He was very kind, helpful, and professional. I couldnt be more pleased. Thank you Mr. Thorton for your help!**Previous Review**Berry (whatever his name is) the employee (in the service department) was extremely rude to me when it came to the issue of my warranty on my car after maintenance work. He told me the cost and the maintenance was supposed to be included with the warranty (free oil changes and full service maintenance for 3 years or until I reach 36,000 miles). He gave me misinformation about my car saying my warranty wasnt applicable and that it supposedly was bought in 2019 when I repeatedly told him my Bill of Sale says I bought it on May 18, 2020. He got an attitude with me afterwards, talked over me, said no charge in a snarkish way, then turned around and walked off. He is unprofessional and very rude. I rather work with someone else next time. He will no longer get my business.

Our salesman, Chase Brinkman was wonderful to work with last May when we bought our first Hyundai, a 2020 Tucson. We love our car and last Mondays visit was our first oil change and tire rotation. There were also a couple of recall items that were taken care of. The Service department personnel are wonderful and the service waiting area was extremely comfortable even with my 3 year old grandson. He stayed busy and was not a bother to anyone.

I asked Russell & he said it had been adjusted. I should have known better than to sign with it showing on the paperwork. That’s my stupid tax. A week later my husband asked Russell in person about the fee that he & Natalie both said they would take off - Russell now says they never said that. First I must say how careful I am with big decisions on anything that involves a high purchase. We came here simply to look and prepare for what we needed to purchase a 2nd vehicle. Darion approached us and was very professional, polite, and eager to help us get the information we needed. We looked at our vehicle of interest together and discussed together what I needed and wanted in a vehicle. He was extremely patient with us and did not push us out of our comfort zone. Quick, easy, understanding, and they deliver the results of their hard work! I drove off their lot 7-12-19 @ noon in a Brand New car. I literally stumbled in the doors 2days prior late in the evening after spending almost an ENTIRE day at ANOTHER A dealership on the Beltline; being told I was denied by this bank and that bank...I was greeted, but not swarmed, by friendly down to earth real people, who told me in 15 ( FIFTEEN ) minutes what I needed to do to get in a car. The next day was on me, I gathered up everything I needed: proof of residence and income. I dropped my info off At 5pm & at 7:11pm my phone rang and I was approved. They put me in a vehicle I could afford sent me the info I needed to have it insured before I came the next day to pick it up. Bryan Terry aka “B” and Natalie Were standing outside waiting on me! They had drawn up all the paper work and had it sitting there with a pen to sign and I drove off the lot in one hour. Mr. Nobody is making a claim- - - we have all heard the commercial, right? I have no clue how or what exactly him and his team did, but it 100% worked!I am kinda glad I wasted time somewhere else trying to get approved for a used car, because it made it so much sweeter driving away in a brand new 2019 car that I didn’t have to jump through loops to get at University Hyundai of Decatur.

Hyundai of Decatur is a horrible place to get a car. They are misleading. My sales woman was very sweet and nice. She seemed like the only one that was concerned about my personal choices. When the manger and financial woman talked to me they were horrible. They told me one thing and then did another. They both were more worried about taking my money else where than to place me in something that I liked. The finance woman was rude and very unprofessional on how she spoked to me. Then the manger came in and talked to me like I was a child. They wouldn’t stand by what I was told in the beginning when I purchased my vehicle. There are many problems with my car and all he told me is that the warranty would cover it. Not at all worried about how I disliked the car. They only had to stop the loan and start it back up so I could be placed in a different car but denied it. First they blamed it on the bank then I called the bank and she told me it was on Hyundai to help me because they just Financed me. They didn’t sell me the car. This is a awe full place to purchase a car. I was told I had three days to decide if I wanted the car and that wasn’t true and I wasn’t informed that it wasn’t. Before I made the full purchase. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Plus my mother is looking else where for a new car. I would really consider looking else where if your wanting a good car. There are multiple problems wrong with my car as well.

They sold me a used car and didnt honor anything we agreed on not to mention when I took it to have the bald tires replaced a week later I found out the stablizer bar was broken and it was the noise heard thumping not the tires as I had been told by them. Since it was an SUV if I had wrecked it would have flipped! Also needed new axls and if that wasnt enough the morning after that news the radiator blew on my way to work. I am at fault partly because I trusted they told the truth when they said their technicians had checked it out and it was a great car, when Im reality their techs rigged things to hold just long enough for someone to buy, I shouldve taken it somewhere I really do trust like Long Lewis In Florence,Al to have checked out which is where my family has been buying cars or having them serviced for yrs even b4 it was Long Lewis and also where two weeks after buying what I thought was a great little SUV from University I traded to and bought truely a great used car! University ppl are nice till u sign the papers then they r rude dont do anything they say and if u finance with them READ the paperwork cause they slipped extra charges in on another friend of mine at the University in Tuscumbia so its quite apparent to me that its all University dealerships not just this one even when i got the tag for it the ppl at the tag commission told horror stories from others about University so Decatur University and Tuscumbia University u both need lessons in humanity!

The service and staff was nice and friendly and really worked with me, however, they give a promotion regarding referring someone to them, and if they buy a car they give you $100 if its used, $200 if its new. I referred someone and they bought the car, and I never received my money that was promised.It got to the point where my phone calls were not returned, so do not be like me and fall for that promotion.

An auto was purchased from this dealership several weeks ago. There was several items owed and promised to the buyer with a gentlemans honor hand shake with Mr. Nobody. (Jerry Davis)There was courtesy and a friendly atmosphere right down to the contract signing, proof of insurance, and proof of resident.After a few weeks, 15-20 phone calls, left messages, throughout the dealership, the buyer was at a dead end with the items the was owed.To sum-up the situation, I wonder if this is whats actually meant by Mr. Nobody? My experience in buying with Hyundai of Decatur was very easy. Did the online credit app and was pre-approved before I walked in, which made everything flow smoothly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nicole was great through the entire process. This is now the 4th Hyundai my family has bought through this dealership, and it has been great every time. Great, friendly staff. Traded in an old, failing car for a much nicer used car. Bryan Terry was great and patient, made it simple for us, and I drove off the lot with a new car that Im looking forward to driving. Decatur Hyundai gave me a great deal, a great trade-in price and it was all over in a matter of a hour. The most positive car buying experience I have ever had. The service manager was very friendly plus super efficient. I was amazed at how fast the service was. I have never had as quick a service at any other dealer.
