This is the shop I would send my mother to!A dear friend was visiting from out of town and when she started her car to drive home there was a terrible grinding sound. I called Andy to see if he could fit her in and from our description he said he had some ideas.Turns out it was something simple - that could have gone bad had she driven home with it. He took care of it quickly and also told her about something else he noticed that she should have looked at when she got home. As bad as the sound had been, he could have told (and sold) her anything, but thats just not the kind of guy Andy is. Hes a truly honest and fair guy with a great shop.

I went in for a 60k mile manufacturers recommended maintenance. The team here was incredibly educated and made sure that I understood all the work they did. They found a few items that I didnt address at the time but they gave me descriptions and cost estimates so that I could plan for the work later and shop around. I definitely recommend.

Requested an appointment over their website and got a phone call within the next couple of hours. Scheduled the appointment for the following week. I think that I mainly dealt with a gentleman named Rob (?). He was very professional over the phone. I had asked for them to do general maintenance. They told me about what they planned to do and made sure to discuss my other concerns including my air conditioning. After I dropped off my car, they called later to give me an update about a few things and an estimate of the services theyd be doing. The costs were very reasonable and they made note of what issue they found (I asked that we wait on it for now since I dont drive much due to the pandemic). They were very good about health and safety in their office (masks/face coverings properly worn, hand sanitizer, plexiglass, etc.) and in my car. They wiped down the dash and steering wheel and cleaned my key before handing it back to me. Ill definitely be returning!

The team at Six Star was awesome with my repair. The STI was a little worn down, they fixed what I asked and made helpful recommendations to handle issues I did not know it even had. What a great experience! Worth the 44 mile drive one way to get to them. That engine bay never looked so good. Bring your Subaru here to be treated right and save a pile of money.

I am from Vermont, and I stopped by after having a mental hiccup about my Subaru BRZ. I told them I was heading through to my next duty station and I was troubled about things not being torqued properly. After briefly talking to them, they were able to fit me into their schedule and gave me peace of mind that everything was good to go. If I lived locally, I would trust these people with my Subaru or any vehicle for that matter.

Rating 5+ stars even though no work was performed. Andy assessed my vehicle and scheduled the repair, then called me and strongly recommended I return to the dealership for the work. Even though I was told otherwise by the dealership, Andy felt that the work should be covered under my warranty. He encouraged me to continue pursuing the dealership - now I have a fully repaired vehicle without paying a dime. These guys are reputed to perform superior and honest work, and I plan to bring my vehicle to them for future non-warranty repairs because I can certainly attest to their integrity.

I was having trouble with squeaking brakes that they were not able to recreate. They took me at my word and replaced the brake pads under warranty at no cost. Just like that squeaky brakes vanished! When we moved to Atlanta in 2016, we came with our old 1998 Outback and were worried that we wouldnt find a good Subaru Mechanic. Because our car is an old car, theres always the worry that unnecessary work will be done, but this has never been the case, and the guys there are more than honest in telling us how necessary (or unnecessary) certain repairs might be.I would easily recommend them to anyone with a Subaru in Atlanta.

I miss Six Star. Several years ago, when I lived closer to Decatur, I took my 2002 WRX in to Six Star for a timing belt replacement and a few other basic repairs. The work was done correctly, and the price was fair. Furthermore, they explained the issues and worked with me to identify what needed to be done and what could wait, in order to accommodate my measly budget. I felt like I was not only dealing with professionals, but also with legitimate Subaru experts. Since then, Ive moved further north and its not really as convenient to go there anymore. However, my experience with shops north of Atlanta has made me think its worth making the trek down to Six Star to get the job done correctly, and probably cheaper. My wife is planning to buy a Subaru soon and I think Six Star is going to become our shop again.Its becoming more and more difficult to find quality work at a fair price, and thats what I got from Six Star.

The dealer said I needed a new head gasket and a couple of other things and that it would cost $3700.I took it to Six Star for a second opinion and said that the head gasket wasnt leaking, just seeping and didnt need to be replaced right now and to fix it would be less than the dealer. Basically, he didnt try to sell me on anything unecessary and was honest about what needed to happen down the road.I have a little time and some piece of mind and when I do need the head gasket repair, or anything else, I will be going here.

Justin stayed late to get it back to me on a Friday rather than keeping it over the weekend, and the bill was a little less than the estimate. I almost dont want to review Six Star so they do not get anymore busy than they are. They are Subaru specialists and Ive been taking my Forester here for several years. They are very upfront and honest about the work they do. They will give you options and work on keeping your cost down whenever possible. They do not try to upsell like some franchise places. They tell you what you need, tell you what it will cost and stand behind their work. What more could you want from a mechanic?

I have an 06 Outback with 150k miles. Juston has taken care of my car since early in its life when we abandoned the Subaru dealership after our new car warranty was up. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Knowledgeable, thorough, and HONEST. Hes the kind of mechanic who will tell you when a repair can wait! I trust him completely to take care of my car and to only do work that is necessary. One time we had some warranty work done at our local dealership and shortly after the work my engine warning light came on. I called Six Star and Juston was able to troubleshoot over the phone. Turned out the dealership had skipped some steps in resetting my cars computer after they disconnected and then reconnected the battery during the work they did. Juston walked me through how to reset it on my own over the phone. He truly cares about his customers and hes an expert on Subarus. What more could you ask for?!

Experience, friendly, and reasonably priced. Brought my 2004 STI here due to a power steering leak and Michael and Juston sorted it out quickly and took the time to give the car a good inspection. In doing so, they found another issue with the rear diff/axels and also sorted that out. They were easy to work with, reasonably priced, and honest. Fantastic shop, fantastic people. I had been bringing my 1999 Subaru Forester to Subaru of Kennesaw for service since the day I bought it. After dropping several thousand dollars in repairs I was still experiencing an engine misfire. I finally got fed up and brought it in to Six Star after reading good reviews online. I was not disappointed! They knew nearly instantly what the problem was based on the description and what work had already been performed. Was told it would take two weeks to perform the repairs. One week after dropping the car off, I received a call that it was done and that they were spot on with the original diagnosis and it was running like new once again.I would recommend this shop without any hesitation or reservation. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and above all, honest. The technicians at the shop go above and work on the car is if it were their own. While my Forster was in having the engine serviced, the technician realized the drivers side seat belt was missing the stopper (keeps the buckle from sliding to the floor when the belt is retracted). They replaced it without question. They also took the time to make sure the rest of the car was working properly. I had been having trouble with the keyless entry. They got it working better than Ive ever had it working and even adjusted the emergency brake. I really appreciate that level of detail.

I had my parents take my Subaru to Six Star Auto to be checked for me and the problem I thought it was when I told them over the phone came to be true... they didnt sugar coat anything either Im going to be taking my Subaru back to have work done to it. I cannot say enough good things about this shop. Below is my story, but in short they are a top notch subaru shop with excellent manners and fair prices.I recently brought my 2007 Impreza to them for timing belt service with a question about the headgaskets and clutch. I traveled from my home in Birmingham to have them work on it (160 miles away) for a week to give it the 100,000 mile overhaul it needed to be a reliable car for the next coming years. They were courteous and accepted my letter informing them of what items I normally do myself without issue, and they didnt charge me for the diagnosis considering how much work had to be done.The diagnosis was that my head gaskets were in fact leaking (a common subaru 2.5L problem), the clutch release bearing was bad, and the timing belt service needed doing. What followed for me was nothing short of impressive.First, they were able to give me a very close estimate for all the work to be done and said they would have my car ready by the next week without any issues. Second, they use multi-layer steel six star head gaskets on all their head gasket repairs which do not ever leak again. Third, they actually did what they said honestly and delivered my car without a scratch and running better than new in one week as expected! They replaced EVERYTHING when they did the timing belt, all the idlers, oil seals, cam seals, and gaskets... something the dealer refused to do, but something thats necessary for those of us who only want to have this major work done every 100K miles.I could not be happier with my Subaru now. Ive put 2,000 miles on it since the service and its actually getting better fuel economy (about +2 mpg) now than when I owned it for the first 100,000 miles.If I have any issues in the future and need expert subaru repair service I will absolutely make the trip to see these guys in Decatur.
