This Thornton’s is in a great location with easy access from 2 main roads. The fuel price has always been fair, the store is always clean and well organized. The staff has always been friendly. In 20 years or so I have been shopping here I have never had any problems here.
I walked into Thorntons on mound road Saturday May 9th 2020.First of all the floor was wet by the soda fountain although there was a wet floor sign up. Two people almost fell including myself do to the floor being excessively wet. Then there was a long line there were two employees one was working one went outside dont know for what but anyway it was very unprofessional knowing there were alot of customers but anyway.I got up to the counter the cashier was rude and pretty much told me to get out of her face. All I asked her for was a receipt.Im a everyday customer and come here alot for the gas and its right close to me and to my neighborhood. This cashier has done this to me before.
Always buy fuel here if in Decatur. Its very clean. Use the customer card for better gas pricing and there are rewards.
Always nice employees and reasonable fuel pricing with card.
I visit here almost everyday. The employees I encounter are always friendly. I also love the fountain drinks prices, especially the icy. Just a dollar.
Clean and usually cheaper gas
Whats the holdup on fixing the ice machine for softdrinks???
Don’t go there when it is crowded(6pm orSo)They only usually have two cashiers, most of the time.cashier was disrespectful, didn’t know how to handle a situation. when I said thank you she said nothing.99.9% of the time it is a great gas station experience, but this time there was a long lineAnd the staff was behind the counter complaining about their break time or whatever.
I put the horn in thorntons
I truly believe no stars should be give for the way my wife and I were treated tonight in Thornton’s. We went to get red bull and a pack of cigarettes, along the way we found a Long Island Ice tea in a can. My wife realized she didn’t have her ID however I did. She was in line with me to check out, the cashier said he needed both ID’s. I presented mine at which time she said she did not have hers. He said I am sorry I cannot sell it to you then. At this time she left the store. I checked out with the items I had and told them I would be back. So we went home got her ID and went back. At this time another cashier was present, unsure of her name. We both got a can of the Long Island just to prove a point. We walked to the register and this time both presented Identification. The cashier loudly and obnoxiously says that she isn’t going to serve us. She then loudly yelled to an employee named Tyler and said “what did you card them for?” LOUDLY in front of the entire store. He reply’s “alcohol”. My wife then said I’m the one that didn’t have my ID the lady cashier says I just didn’t want to get in the middle of it. I then said to her that I thought that was a rude way of handling things. She said ME?! I responded with yes. She then snatched both cans and aggressively said I’m not serving either of you then. And you can get out of the store. She then knocked one of the cans over and made it explode. I looked at her and said that’s why you’re salty. Another customer was standing near us was just smiling at us because she knew the lady was being ridiculous. I’m not saying that I handled things the right way. I also understand them not serving us and being careful the first time. However we fully left the store and returned with both ID’s for them to still not sell to us. all I was saying was that she handled the situation in a rude way. I’m highly disappointed in the way we were treated as we go to this gas station daily and spend quite a bit of money there per month. I just feel it’s ridiculous to deny service to a paying customer and have a snappy attitude for no reason. She was the definition of an irrate employee taking out frustration on legitimately innocent polite people for no apparent reason.
I was just in your store and the man behind the counter was a jerk there were wet floor signs up as you walked into the coffee area I over heard him talking to another sales associate how ppl dont read signs I myself was going to get a coffee but after I heard his remark I decided not to I let the associate know that there was no DO NOT WALK THROUGH HERE SIGNS UP just wet caution floor signs he was very unprofessional and not inviting I love this Thorntons and ALWAYS come here all he had to do was announce to the paying customers to be careful but Im not sure if Ill be back anytime soon and I went elsewhere to get my coffee today
