This site of the 1st ever Waffle House is a great place to entertain the family on the cheap. Go during their free weekends and get waffles and bottles of Cokes...for free! A nice piece of Georgia history and a must for any Waffle House fan, but be aware, this is NOT an actual restaurant, so dont go looking for food on a non-open house weekend. My kid loved playing the available games with the other children and that iconic paper hat...couldnt get it off him!
Celebrated my wifeβs 30th Birthday here! I was disappointed that it wasnβt setup like an actual Waffle House as I thought I saw in pictures, but nevertheless it was awesome. The food was catered by Waffle House, and we had an awesome time! If youβre looking for a small, intimate place for gatherings this is the place and itβs very affordable!
This location may pop up as a restaurant in a Google search, but note the word museum in the name. But dont dispair, there is a normal fully functional Waffle House about 100 yards away, just across the street.
So cute! Great for elementary age to play behind the counter. Has listening stations for oral history. The corporate office had a docent there which was helpful. The smell of waffles was intoxicating. Photo opportunity was nice, funny. Follow them on social media to find out when they are open. Not a full time museum.
This was really fun. I went here with a group of 7 kids during one of their open houses and they had free waffles and different kinds of cool pins and they had a museum next door where the kids could actually play behind the waffle house counter and pretend to cook and sit at the counter. The only problem I had was that it didnt really seemed like a museum like in the traditional sense-that is what i thought it was going to be. Also, the lines were extremely long waiting for the waffles which isnt necessarily the museums fault but it was the middle of summer in GA so they could of thought about possible sun shade coverage before hand.
Great friendly hotel. Owner cares sincerely about your stay. Had a little glitch on her fixed it as best as possible and it didnt happen again.
Great little museum by reservation only. Really fun place to visit find out some history about an icon of the South. Cant say enough about the courtesy and kindness of the people who met us there to give us a tour.
Keep an eye out on Waffle House social media for when they open the museum. Great hospitality as always and free waffle and hash browns when I went!
Great time 10th Anniversary of the museum opening. Small but nice. Free waffles & hash browns & drinks, tee shirts or hats, music CD.
Interesting but not sure it was worth the drive. As someone who pretty much grew up in Waffle Houses, it was interesting Rio learn abt the history of the chain (I didnt know they used to serve chic-filet, for instance), and my kids enjoyed playing behind the counter. The actual museum was a bit more interesting than the presentation.
Two of my coworkers and l with here and it was really nice to have gone here. Food was served hot and the waffle definitely was delicious.
Great experience. This is only open a few times a year. What FUN
Very informative and friendly tour guide staff.
Great event space wonderful exhibits at the first Waffle House
Really nothing here, just an empty building with a fenced off parking lot.
The Museum was smaller than I expected, but it was an interesting visit. There is no charge to get in, but you have to set up the visit ahead of time.
Had a great time with co-workers
Very fun place to learn about an American favorite.
This is a super fun place for fans of Waffle House and Americana.
