Overall its probably the best public course in Broward county. The course is in very good condition from tee to greens. The greens run smooth, true and relatively fast with undulations. Its one of the rare find course in S. Florida that offers plenty of hilly and elevation changes. Almost every hole offers a pleasant driver experience for those who like to bomb the ball at tee shot. Imagine the feeling of driving the ball from an elevated tee box to a straight wide-open fairway in S. FL. The course looks easy without intimidating hazards yet its not easy to get good scores.

Golf enthusiasts will be happy to know that the Greater Fort Lauderdale area is also packed with a plethora of golf courses that are accessible to the public. Deer Creek Golf Club in Deerfield Beach is one such course. Deer Creek is an upscale public golf facility with an 18-hole championship course designed by Arthur Hills. Deer Creek is known for its undulation and rolling landscape and the consistently fast and smooth TifEagle putting surfaces. The course opened in 1971 and has hosted many prestigious professional and amateur golf tournaments including the 2003 USGA Senior Open Championship, 2002 USGA Amateur Championship, and the LPGA Tour’s Mazda Classic from 1979-1984. Other accolades include “Best Golf Course in Broward” (South Florida Sun Sentinel), “Four Stars” (Golf Digest Magazine), “Top Two Golf Courses in South Florida” (Golf Magazine), and “Top 100 Courses for Women” by Golf for Women Magazine.In addition to a challenging golf course, Deer Creek has one of the best practice facilities in the area with a full-length driving range, putting green, sand traps, and chipping areas. Deer Creek offers several challenging holes, but nothing can make or break a round quicker than the last two. Number 17 is a short par 4 that plays 335 yards from the White tees and features a large pot bunker in the middle of the landing area off the tee. If you can fly it, by all means do so but don’t push your tee shot right, or you’ll be faced with a small cluster of palm trees about 120 yards out. Your approach shot is to a small angled and elevated green guarded in front by a bunker. A back-left pin position can be tricky because the green is tough to hold and slopes to the back left. Anything long will be a tough up and down.Oceanic at Pompano Beach Pier is dedicated to capturing the energy of the Pompano Beach revitalization. Oceanic is owned by LM Restaurants who also own the Beach House next door. Oceanic offers indoor and outdoor seating and the ocean liner-inspired design provides an open interior with expansive and uninterrupted ocean views. Oceanic offers superior steak and seafood dishes. Their Brussels Sprouts appetizer with a horseradish and maple sauce is a must-try. After your main course, be sure to try one of Oceanic’s fabulous desserts including Key Lime Crème Brulee or Fat Elvis Pie, an interesting selection that combines all of the King’s favorites: peanut butter (ganache), banana (cream filling), and chocolate, all on a graham cracker crust.Celebrity Chef Fabio Viviani now has his own restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Riviera by Fabio Viviani is located in Hotel Maren on A1A and is part of Hilton’s Curio Hotel Collection. The food is considered coastal Italian cuisine; to me, it was simply delicious, probably the best meal I have ever had in almost 20 years of writing about golf travel. The signature meatball appetizer (Polpetti Di Fabio) was incredible, the Salt Spring Mussels were plump and delectable and my wife’s Mishima Reserve Wagyu Steak was the best I’ve ever tasted. I’m surprised she let me have a bite! If you’re there for Sunday brunch be sure to try their new Tootsie Roll drink. It’s the perfect breakfast drink.While in the area, you’ll need a place to lay your head at night. I strongly suggest Cottages By The Ocean on SE 3rd St. in Pompano Beach. Not only are they centrally located to several public-accessible golf courses, but they’re also a block and a half from the beach and all kinds of restaurants and nightlife. These 1940s-era cottages and one-bedroom bungalows offer full kitchens with range, refrigerator, and microwave, a complete living room, and a king-size bed. They’ve also got you covered if youre headed to the beach with beach chairs, wakeboards, and beach toys. Owner Elaine Fitzgerald likes to greet each guest personally and when you see her ask her for some restaurant recommendations. She’s been in the area a long time and is well-connected. She has several similar properties in the area so if the Cottages By The Ocean are booked, check out her other locations.

For a year after we moved to Deer Creek, my husband played golf four days per week and we occasionally dined there. The food was awful and the service only fair, but my husband loved the people and the golf. I loved him playing close to home. Marty, the owner, banned my husband from the golf course when my husband asked him to stop photographing me while I fed the birds, as it was making me feel uncomfortable. My husband and I are retirees. We live across the canal from the golf course. Feeding the birds has filled the void in my life since I retired from a lifetime of teaching. . One of the reasons we moved to Deer Creek is because of the community reputation for being a champion of wildlife. Marty however daily torments the wild animals with his aggressive dog and even shoots at them, when people are on the golf course. I have security film showing him aiming his air rifle towards my house even when I’m sitting on my porch. Recently he told my husband he would allow him to resume playing golf at Deer Creek again only if I got rid of my bird feeders. Thus he tries to control not only the wildlife on his own property but on everyone else’s property in the neighborhood. My husband had no choice but to decline despite his loving the golf course as he loves nature, me and values his own property rights. So if you’re an animal lover, hide your passion or Marty won’t let you play, even if like my husband, you have brought him loads of business.

My husband golfed at this facility several days per week for years and we ate there perhaps three times. The food tasted like low level frozen food and the clubhouse and restaurant had a musty odor, but the course is in good condition.We live in the Deer Creek area, so despite the low quality food, my husband would love to play there still, but he has been disallowed by the owner because I feed the birds across the canal from the golf course. Marty, who is the sole proprietor, actually put in writing that my husband could play if and only if I stop feeding the birds in our own yard. Marty torments the animals in my yard daily using a barking dog and an air rifle. See the photo from our security camera. I was on my back patio when he aimed and shot his air rifle frightening this Woodstork. . If you love nature as we do, let him know in the only way he understands, his wallet. Play elsewhere.

Very solid course- bang for your buck in this area is bar none. Great course and for 48$ can’t go wrong. Highly recommend if you are in the area

Came to this GC to have a look around. Decided my wife and I would have lunch. What a mistake as the food is the worst we have had in quite a while.1 x Calamari, 1 x French Onion Soup, 2 x Phyllycheese steak - one with cheddar and one without. Fries with the cheese steaks.Lets start on a positive note. A pleasant place to eat (albeit the dining room needs a lick of paint to freshen up). The fries were good.The calamari was rubbery (over cooked?) Both of the cheese steaks tasted burnt. The buns were burnt (perhaps some may call it seared?)An apparently good golfing facility which needs to have a close, critical and honest look at its kitchen!I will go back to try the golfing facilities.I will not be eating there.Its the first GC I have eaten in since arriving from Scotland 10 months ago.Very disappointing!Thank you, for this prompt response. One of the prettiest country clubs in Broward County. Golf Course is a great track and provides lots of birdie opportunities without too much trouble for the average golfer. The clubhouse and grounds are always immaculate and offer great accommodations for any type of event. I shot my second hole in one at Deer Creek and well never forget it.

I am not one to complain, but I was disappointed with the venue and my wedding.1. I emailed the event coordinator a couple days before my wedding in regards to the people who weren’t going to make it and asked if there was a refund process. No response. On Saturday I asked the person who was doing the rehearsal and she had told me the event coordinator was out of town- which I didn’t know. She said she would speak to you and get back with me. Never happened.2.I didn’t have any point of contact besides an email. And I didn’t know you were out of town and The assistant wasn’t there on Sunday - the day of my wedding.3. I was told to come at 6 am on Sunday that everything would be ready and cleaned for me to decorate. When I arrived with my team all the tablecloths were dirty, the tables were supposed to be different sizes depending on how many guest were at the table - never happened. I had no one to get in contact with and a very tired crew who arrived and we couldn’t get anything done until around 9 am, when Someone from the venue finally called me back and told me to just place my arrangements on the tables and they would redo them.4. The food did not taste like the tasting which was upsetting, but the fact some of the staff were rude and turned away more than half my guest when they tried to get desserts because the cake wasn’t ready from being sliced, left without trying the dessert or cake. We couldn’t take anything home but the staff was taking all the food and dessert home.5. During clean up, we were making sure everything was picked up and my mom noticed my blue vase which was in the cocktail room was moved to the the front of the venue in front of your office as if it was your property.My advice if you are a bride before you give all your money, make sure you have everything lined up. I was very disappointed with how everything came about.

I feel in love with Deer Creek. I was so happy we could have our wedding here!! We were able to get married in front of the waterfall and had our beautiful reception in their renovated gorgeous ballroom! We had SO many people compliment on the venue we chose!! Our day of coordinators were AMAZING. Giselle and Polly never left our side and were there if we needed anything. Our wedding was beyond perfect and I would highly recommend Deer Creek as a venue.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course and the speed of play. I rarely play public courses, but I would definitely go back there. The greens are good, and would be excellent if more players would fix their ball marks.

I had a party of 11 to dinner on Saturday last (12/11).We dined outside at 2 tables seperated by 8 ft.Food was good and served steaming hot.Service was outstanding.

Nice place with a nice view to enjoy a dinner off their Sunset Menu between 3:30pm and 4:45 pm Monday through Friday.

The food was awful, the chicken cutlets with mack n cheese was so hard, my friends pull pork dish was rubbed. The waitress didnt know what was a Johnny walker black drink and first said they didnt care it, and 5 minutes later they found a bottle. She said. I dont think its her fault, just not training employees well.

Definitely the top end of mid-range facilities. Staff and service are excellent.

Sat for an hour before our prime rib dinner arrived.

The place is good by itself and has a lot of potential for amazing pictures and events like weddings. The staff was very helpful and nice . The food was amazing (best Ive ever had in a wedding)

Excellent food and staff

Really nice golf course with a lot of tough sand traps. When we played the rough was a little long but not unbearable. My only issue was with the price in the morning, I thought it was overpriced compared to what some of the other similar courses nearby charge. Prices drop after noon and becomes a lot more reasonable so I recommend waiting till noon if you really wanna play here.

Ive visited this facility a number of times. The last time was today. The golf course is always immaculate and is a challenge at any level. I happen to be a 8 handicapper. I always evaluate a course based on the number of workers that are continuing maintaining the course. Deer Creek Golf Course is by far the best course in South East Florida.

Great venue awesome staff

My husband and and I just moved to Deer Creek a month and a half ago. Im South American and appreciate good food. We heard good things about their food and decided to have dinner at The Grille. The food was fantastic so our service. The manager Joane is very pleasant. The reason Im giving 2 stars is for the way we were treated by this young lady with strong Spanish accent in the catering department. Her office is the first thing you see as you arrive at the main lobby. She is not professional and smeels like alcohol and cigarettes. She rushed us and we felt like we were an inconvenience to her. l might be back to the restaurant but not booking an event with them.

First time out here. Its much quieter then other places I have been. Well maintained grounds, and super friendly staff. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this club. Membership is worth it also, from what some of the members told me.

Great experience from start to finish. The course was in great shape. Practice facility was great. Putting green was spot on for the roll of the rest of the greens. Tee boxers were level and in great shape. Playing from the blues made this a fun challenging course. The greens were awesome. Pace of play was spot on and finished in under 4 hours.

Deer creek is a quality course that is challenging and well kept. Excellent staff.

My husband and I are so glad that we chose Deer Creek as our wedding venue. When we came to tour this venue it was our first choice and after seeing the waterfall, outstanding windows and patio we booked that day! Our event manager was Bridgett (who was soooo awesome and helpful) who is no longer there, Stephanie is her replacement. As for Stephanie I am not a fan of. She always seemed bothered to answer the few questions that I had, rude and also she did not know many answers (she’s new I understand). As for the event coordinator, Giselle, she is THE BEST! So helpful and caring she really was awesome. Our day went so smoothly with her. She is so professional and knows what is best for you. The food was beyond great for our wedding we chose Prime Rib and Pork Tenderloin to be served buffet style and wow it was good!! We received so many compliments on the venue, food and experience in general. We are so glad to have booked Deer Creek for our wedding!!

Good food, good rates on golf, the course has been updated over the years and it is nice to see it not fall apart like others around the area. It is a safe area aside from a few car break ins awhile ago but that is expected since it does kind of draws attention. I recommend the swordfish. Great place for weddings too.

I just had a very very poor interaction with the staff member that leads me to leave this review for a club that in the past has treated me relatively okay. I arrived at 605pm to hit a bucket of balls. Something I have done many days in the past to much success. The ability to hit balls after working hours is a benefit of Deer Creek that apparently doesn’t exist anymore.I was told at 610 upon putting on my golf shoes and walking into the clubhouse that I was unable to hit balls as sunset is now quarter till 7 and they needed to clean and pick the range.They have a sign front and center on their price sheet that says that last token sold at 615. A large bucket takes me at maximum 45 minutes to work through, meaning I would be done at the latest 7pm. At that time there will still be multiple members on the range hitting balls.I received poor customer service, even after letting the staff member know I was a regular who lived 1 mile away and had just played the course the day before until after 7pm. It does not get beyond playable here until well after 7pm. She said she wasn’t going to argue with me and if I took my business elsewhere “so be it if you’re going to be like that”.Disappointing. Disappointing for those who want to work on their game and choose this course.

The site is very beautiful. Regarding the restaurant, terrible service, especially when receiving the check. We were 2 tables of 8 people., ask the server to bill by couples, some were nine and dine wow, they were all mixed up. Instead of giving one check by couple of individual, one person was charged for the drinks, we had ask at the beggining to bill correctly.Secondly, one table of 8 was served, at least 1 hour before the other table.Very poor service, do not recommend to dîne, will not return.

I have heard it said it was one of Browards best kept secrets, but as busy as it was Wed., the course is no secret.Course in excellent condition and the rates are much more reasonable now (May $40)Only complaint, we were rudely told to skip 2 holes on the front for league that was starting soon.Plenty of time to finish as no one was around.....be advised

I have been to Deer Creek Golf Club on a few oçcasions as a guest. The food is wonderful. The staff is amazing and very friendly.

Great golf course & well maintained.

Loved the entrees and sides. Squash soup and shrimp was great also. The salads were terrific. The only part of the meal that disappointed was the desserts. They tasted very commercial, cheesecake grainy, choc cake really dry, key lime pie too sweet and grainy. That’s why couldn’t give it a 5.

First I would like to stress that the venue is an absolute gorgeous place to have a wedding and Giselle the day of manager was absolutely amazing!!! Giselle made my day extra special despite what I went through with the event manager Stephanie and the owner Marty. My review is based on the treatment I received dealing with those two. I booked my event 2 years in advance and was dealing with a wonderful manager by the name Bridgette. 2 months before my wedding when it was time to do my food tasting.. I found out Bridgette left. The new manager never introduced herself at all to me. 2 weeks before my wedding there was a discrepancy on what was told to me about the ceremony. Stephanie was completely rude and spoke to me as if I was a no body. She was extremely condescending! When I asked to schedule a meeting with her boss she called Marty had words with him in front of me and hung up. She said that his response was he never made and exception before and he will not start now. I said I asked you to set up a meeting with him. She calls Marty back and he refused to set up time with me and she said his response was it will be a short call. By that time I was furious about how I was being dealt with. Marty called me the next day and when I expressed my dissatisfaction on how I was being treated and that I am paying thousands of dollars to host a venue there. He said to me he host hundreds of events and he doesn’t need my money. When I asked to speak to his boss he told me there is no one above him but God!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT AN ESTABLISHMENT HAS SUCH NASTY PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM. When I asked him do you think that’s appropriate to say to a paying customer he literally started yelling at me!! I ended up hanging the phone up on him. Your wedding should be an enjoyable time in your life and these 2 ppl made my wedding HELL! I literally did not want to having a wedding anymore. Marty, you may host hundreds of events but if you do not change your attitude and you staff attitude that number can quickly change! This place does not deserve to have someone like Giselle. You can tell she really cares for her job and enjoys the type of work she does. Hopefully, Marty as the owner changes how he deals with his customers and trains his staff better although I believe he is to arrogant to see the flaws. Beware!! The new managers are nice when you are looking around but once you are locked in there attitudes quickly change or maybe its because they want certain clientele there now. If these two were there when I first booked I would have gladly taken my business some where else!

Worst round of golf I have ever experienced in my life! It started on the first hole and ended at the sixth. We were harassed by the ranger multiple times and the starter was pushing groups off at a pace like I’ve never seen prior. If your looking to enjoy a round off golf DO NOT play here! We were so aggravated by the sixth hole we packed up and left. My wife asked for refund in which they refused and were extremely rude to her; so I went in and asked for a refund and they finally offered half back and were reluctant in doing so. The manager Marty Martinez was arrogant and rude individual who cared little for respecting women and customer service in general. The starter Max was equally bad. It was honestly my worst experience on a golf course ever!

Horrible experience was told our tee time was 9:41 when we booked it the night before. We arrived at 9:30 in which we were told our tee time was 9:25 and we were 20 minutes late. Well a group of two were behind us so by the next hole we were asked to wait for them to pass so things would be move more smoothly. So we do. The next hole we were asked to pick up the pace because we were 4 minutes behind regular time they know because gps shows them that we are but we had to wait ten minutes for the two some to pass by us so obviously we were not average time. Regardless throughout the next 6 holes we had ranger come and ask us to pick up the pace or stop and let another group pass by. My family owns a golf course in MA so I know more than average about the game and I was told by multiple employees I don’t understand golf etiquette and it was all of our fault since we were late. Regardless the matter was handled poorly the only reason I think they even deserve a one star is that they did refund us for the back nine holes which only makes sense because we never even played them.

Deer Creek h as one of the best golf courses in the area. They have a driving range and 2 golf schools. Also a full pro shop. The course is always in great shape.

My church hosted a banquet at the Deer Creek Golf Club in August of this year. The event was a huge success! My main contact person was Tay and she helped us throughout the entire process: from planning, choosing the menu, linens, etc. The main ballroom was gorgeous and was well lit with large, gorgeous chandeliers. The outside patio with waterfall was also gorgeous. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to bring our guests outside due to the rain. The weekend of the event we were helped by Duane and Gisele. Each staff member was super friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. From our head maitre’d, Luc, to the valet person who stayed until we finished around 11, I wanted to say thank you. Our guests were satisfied and we have continued to get rave reviews days after the event. We will definitely keep this venue in mind for future events and would highly recommend.

This course was the worst experience I have ever had! The starter, the manager were the rudest people I have ever encountered. The starter was dishonest from the gate. We were harassed multiple times by the ranger for the pace of play, as were several other groups on the course that day. It all stemmed from the mismanagement of the starter Max we confronted him after we decided to cut our game short due to the circumstances mentioned above. He immediately got defensive and lied claiming we showed up late and we were running behind. A gentlemen who overheard what he said to us came up and said he literally just said the same thing to another group just before. I was amazed by the treatment we received and will never play at this course again! Lucky for us there are plenty of great courses in South Florida to play and this IS NOT ONE OF THEM!

They start later than any club in south Florida. Then even if you have a paid for scheduled tee time the members get put ahead of you. The starter situation is only second worse to Plantation Preserve. The club is nice but someone else said it, the members that are put in front of you are usually the slowest in the club. This was not a one time experience, but has happened four times. It is on a card we buy for the season covering many courses. If it wasnt closer to one of our friends locations wed skip it. As nice as the course is the early start times are for snow birds to endure.

I felt very uncomfortable I am a black male and I heard several racist remarks by the staff. I brought it to the attention to whom I believed was the manager and was dismissed. I was treated in a very rude and aggressive manner. If you are a person of color I do not recommend this golf course!!!

Deer Creek Country Club’s ballroom was sensational! Duane and Gisella were very welcoming and exceeded our expectations.Luc, the dinner head server is one of a kind. He when above and beyond to accommodate our needs and maximized our experience.The facility was impeccable! Just like the images online. For our dinner banquet, we’ve selected the Filet Medalions, Sautéed Pesto chicken and Red Snapper Francaise, which were all exquisite! We had over two hundred guests who were very satisfied.We would highly recommend Deer Creek Country club for any special event celebrations.

Well maintained semi-private course. Some challenging holes, none crazy.

We went to a Sunday brunch here and it was pretty good; they offer 1 mimosa or 1 bloody Marry thats included in the bill, and endless coffee. The brunch costs $14, very reasonable :)

Excellent public course. Challenging but fair. Greens were in great shape for summer. Great 19th hole specials.
