So many really cool things here! Lots of unique flavors and confectionaries. The chocolate was delicious - smooth, perfect sweetness, high quality. The fruit & nuts are fresh and high quality. Prices are very affordable. Customer service was very friendly & fast. I would recommend this place a million times over

I love family-run local businesses. This one especially, I noted that the staff went out of their way to interact with my son and I. They asked if we had questions. They kept checking in to see if we we needed help. They were kind and helpful. The chocolate tasted great. The chocolate covered cherries were fantastic. The store has a great variety. Well be back again.

The quality of the chocolate seems to be going down. Not sure it’s because of cocoa prices or a new chocolate maker, but the taste is sub par to that of a generic Hersheys bar. It’s unfortunate because this use to be a magical place to visit as a kid.

5/5 stars! The Confectionary is a family favorite of ours- for good reason! The chocolate and candy are out of this world good and the service is impeccable. We live quite a ways from the shop unfortunately but the online ordering and shipping has been absolutely wonderful. My personal favorite (among many) are the caramels!

Even in a time of crisis, The Dekalb Confectionary is an absolutely wonderful place! Five minutes to close and they still filled my curbside order. The chocolate is always fantastic and I mean fantastic, plus the customer service is always stellar! Do yourself a favor and stop by if youre in the DeKalb area, after we get through this pandemic. In the meantime order online or by phone and enjoy the curbside pickup!

Absolutely wonderful experience. The employees, particularly the gentleman who was passing out caramels, were super friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of specialty chocolates and fun candies to fit any taste. They even have SUGAR FREE chocolates and caramels! YAY! I can say with sincerity that the sugar free candy is just as delicious as the regular candy. This is important to me as a diabetic, even through I dont have a huge sweet tooth, when I do crave a good chocolate, I have somewhere to find one. The prices are in line with a specialty candy store and is well worth it. We will be back! Oh also, they have adorable customized chocolates perfect for weddings, parties, or just because.

My parents and I used to visit this place occasionally when I was a kid. I moved away for 20 years and was happily surprised to find out they are still open. Im going to visit there soon and get some goodies.

Ive been coming here for almost 20 years, since I went to college at NIU. Sometimes circumstances cause me to not be able to make it back for a year or more, but when I do...There is literally no comparison. The taste of fresh chocolate and fresh sugar candy makes the commercial stores like Fannie Mae and such taste like cardboard in comparison. And the prices at DeKalb are about a third of what you would expect for the same amount. I bought $50 worth last week and ended up with about 10 pounds of chocolate all together.If you have never, you owe it to yourself at least once in your life to taste something this good.

Fantastic salted caramel. The pieces are nice and large. Their fudge is also really nice. The people who work there have always been very friendly and generous. Definitely would recommend anyone in the area to visit.

Variety of candy,and helpful staff. English toffee and dark chocolate almonds are very good. Sugar free options are also available. Caramel apples are big and delicious. Cant wait to make a return trip.

This place is pretty amazing, I was looking for chocolates and saw this on Google maps. Went the next day and the lady working was very nice, helpful, and kind. She offered suggestions and helped show me things very similar to what I was looking for. I ended up walking out buying just under $20 of candy and I shared with some people here and there and I still have a bunch left. I will say you get a lot for what you pay for. I do want to come back soon since Ive almost run out. This was an amazing first time experience and a lot of my coworkers know this place so I got great recommendation and all of them recommended coming here. Thanks for the help! It was all delicious!

Great little candy shop. They have a glass case full of chocolates made on the premises. Delicious treats! You can also get boxes made to order.

I havent been here yet but I received a delicious giant marshmallow dipped in caramel then dipped in chocolate for Valentines day. It was awesome!
