Very friendly family owns and operates the store. Lots of neat items to look though. Silversmith on duty for repairs. Definitely worth the visit.

It is a cool place with some wonderful people who own it. They fixed my jewelry, and made me two custom rings and a bracelet which Ive had many complement on. Well worth going there....

Black Hat is a great place for rock lovers. Jess is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There is a tremendous variety of rocks in their raw form, slabs, cabashons and finished jewelry. If you love rocks and are near Deming, NM you have to stop at Black Hat!

Awesome bead store. They have a nice variety of beads and jewelry making supplies, as well as rocks, things made out of gemstones, and premade jewelry. You can get sterling silver jewelry supplies also. The staff is very knowledgeable, too. My family goes here almost every time we travel to Deming!

Loads of minerals! Cut and polished minerals, as well. Loads of beads at great prices, better than what you find online for some of them. Friendly service. A little cold in the shop when we went there.

What a fun place for treasure hunting! Jess, the owner, has an impressive collection of bulk, slab, and cabbed rocks and minerals. So much to see we barely made it through a quarter of his stuff and we were there over an hour! Ask about his rock hunting field trips. You will not regret it!

Weve been going here for years and each time we learned a great deal more. Everything from beading to wire wrapping to good old rockhounding. Worth coming in just for the information alone much less the items they sell or the classes they teach.

Nice rocks. A very large varriety of starter or novice up to real rock hounder or extreme enthusthiast. A mile or two outside of Deming on the right side of the road north side of town going towards Silver City,its not easy to spot and watch your speed law enforcement likes to catch speeders coming and going to Silver City. Questions can usually be answered by the owners,the rest of the staff isnt that knowledgeable. You can spend hours or even days just looking and enjoying the open air displayed specimens. People of all ages can enjoy rock hounding its cheep, local and easily accessible to all types of people.Start anytime its never to late to start a life long hobby. Enjoy discovering how the earth was made what the earth is made of.
