First time in and it was great. Place had a huge variety of options. Lot of the old school candy which was a great flashback to my childhood. They are following COVID rules.

Cool retro candy shop in Denton Square; carries everything from old favorites to interesting oddities such as bacon-flavored and chocolate-flavored sodas. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy some candy, and the flavor selection in the soda fridges will have you coming back to try another! Staff was polite and friendly in my experience.

Went because it was on a Facebook story about the 7 best chocolate shops road trip. There are roughly 6 small candy jars with actual chocolates. They do not look artisan by any means. Neat little place with a lot of the candy we grew up with and some new standards. Cute place, but annoyed that it was on that list for sure.

Awesome candy shop loaded tons of candy. Plenty of nostalgic selections as well as current choices. Pickled flavored candy, large gummy unicorns, and lil nitro super hot candy, they have it all. It’s a great place to visit even if you are looking to just browse. Something for everyone in here. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

This is one of the best places on the Square, definitely a gem! All sorts of candy, funny humor pieces, and great customer service. Super down to earth and helpful and fun staff. Prices are a little high, but its not a candy bar from the gas station or supermarket, its a specialty candy store. No biggie for me there! This is a great place to pop by and have a good belly laugh and grab some candy from your childhood!!

An absolute Must See of Denton. You dont see many old time style novelty candy stores like this anymore. From row after row of craft sodas to a plethora of candies, treats and toys, this place has it all. Perfect spot to bring the family or a neat pit stop on a date. Staff is always bright and helpful.

I love shopping here. They are always friendly and helpful. The shop always feels so unique and fun for people of any age.

I have lived in Lil D for over 2 yrs yet somehow this gem of a store wasnt known to me. Happy I waltzed in when I did. I LOVE trying new sodas, my 1st pick was a cactus soda. My new fave. And all the flavored candy corns 😍

Good meme store

Huge selection of sweets from your childhood that youve completely forgotten about until you see it again. Fun novelty items, sodas, bulk candy options, and conversation pieces. This place is sure to crack a smile on your face at least once. :) Things are a bit pricey and theres very little walking room, but what can you expect from any store sitting directly on the Square? The building is old and cramped and theyre working with what theyve got the best they can. Staff is super friendly. Would definitely recommend visiting at least once; youre sure to be back again at some point. :)

I love Atomic Candy. They have all your favorite candies including things you havent seen sold in years, and they are awesomely priced. A must visit in the Denton Square.

Not a bad place, quirky and fun. Little overpriced on the novelty stuff and their attitudes toward COVID takes some of the fun out of the experience

Such a fun store! Amazing candies locally made, novelty toys, and more soda flavors than you can imagine! A must for any visitor and even locals! Highly recommend the sea-salt dark-chocolate caramels!!

This place is so awesome!

Fun shop full of nostalgic candy and collectibles! Small shop jam packed floor to ceiling with surprises everywhere. Tons of bulk candy bins full of salt water taffy, gummy candy, hard candy, etc. They even have the candy cigarettes and gum cigarettes from when I was a kid!!! There is also a great selection of collectible retro metal lunchboxes. Unique pez dispensers and candy are plentiful. Old fashioned cream sodas and bottled pop are also in a refrigerated case up front. There is something for everyone here!

Remarkably NOT fun sales people in a very fun, exciting store. I’ve visited a few times with my two young kids. They naturally are curious, and well-behaved, but each time we have been there the sales people act so put out by having young kids in there. Don’t work in a candy store if kids irritate you. I will not be going back based on the snobby young people working there.

Atomic Candy has eclectic candy, some more unique than others. It is a small and cramped shop, especially when busy. They have a lot of craft sodas, even though they are a little pricey. They mostly have packaged candy, but a small section of by-the-pound chocolate treats and jelly beans. I have not and will not buy them though because they do not look the freshest, but without The Candy Store, I believe they are the only place that offers them on the square now. Overall, its a fun candy shop.

They have seasonal, occassion and school themes to name only a few. Check out their tiny baby jaw breaker up to the huge dinosaur size. Great gift ideas for any occassion or no occasion at all. Treat yourself to some sweet fun.

Staff is quite unhelpful and standoffish. Of course I could be getting old and cranky, but to me their behavior is outweighed by their selection. The memories this plave items bring back is super cool.

If a Spencers gift shop was bitten by a radioactive Keebler elf, if all went as best as possible youd end up with Atomic Candy, filled with an ever-changing ever-growing number of confections, treats, novelty gifts, and craft sodas Atomic Candy is the perfect place for the edgy pre-teen in all of us. Walking in with bulging wallet and walking out with bulging pockets, purses, and bags may be the only down side.

I love this place. Every kind of candy known to man including old favorites like Atomic fireballs and Beemans gum. If youre in Denton, you gotta go to Atomic Candy!

Always enjoy going to the atomic candy store! The coffee mugs are brilliant and the cookies and cream covered espresso beans are always on point. Im sure the novelty political gum will be useful as the political season draws near!

Great store with eclectic sampling

Nice place to visit, but this is one candy store where you can get an otherwise cheap (mere handful) of candy, and end up finding a good wound your wallet. To see people spending sixty dollars or more on a bag & a few bars of candy, turns the initially comical and fun atmosphere a little red......yes, with pain. Its then apparent why the oblivious children seem happy (to start) but many parents do not...once the bill comes in. I wish I had pics of all the shocked looks at that cute little counter :>.They simply cant keep these prices and claim a healthy conscience. :) But hey, youre paying for the novelty...right?But being closed on Sunday means that they lose quite a lot of business from the all people I know anyway.....

Overall the candy store had a good variety including some candy and pops from Australia (my husband is from there and was excited to find them). However, it is not a place for children, which doesnt make sense and ruins a family trip. There were mugs with naked people on them and pictures of the mug on the wall! Things that said I

Great candy store. Fun environment. Good assortment of pre packaged and scoopable candies.I usually grab candy here for gifts for the nieces and nephews. Theres always something fun and interesting to give them.I wish Atomic had the home made candy and chocolates selection the old candy shop had but thats my only super minor complaint!

So cute! This place has just about every candy and soda you could ever want. If you are taking a day trip in Denton, its definitely a must-see. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because some of the candy is obviously overpriced. Its $10 a pound for their bulk candy, and a lot of that can be found at CVS. This is really a perfect place to find specialty stuff, not to stock up on favorites.

It was like walking into my childhood. I went in looking for hard candy and all day suckers...And walked out with a great deal more. They even had Australian sodas!! Cleared out every last bottle of Bundaberg Root Beer they had. Yea, its that good. For such a tiny store, they seemed to have a little of everything. Everywhere I looked there was something else I just had to try. The prices were pretty good too. I was finally dragged out of the store after spending a hour, and close to $80 in candy. Ill be going back pretty much every chance I get!

It has a lot of retro candy! I had fun looking at all the old tires of candy. I liked how they had candy separated by flavor, like the sour balls were separated by Cherry, grape, black cherry, ect.

If youre visiting Denton, the square is definitely a place to see. This is one of the shops on the square that I highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth. They have all kinds of candies-- including those harder to find. They have just about every imaginable flavour of jelly bean and a place to grab a bulk amount of other candies (and chocolate)! They also have bottled sodas in all sorts of fancy flavours (including hot wings, if youre a brave soul). I recommend grabbing some creme soda or a rootbeer if you stop by. They also have joke things (youll have to see what I mean for that).The staff here is friendly. Beware of the crowds as it is a relatively small building!

Enjoyed our visit, my favorite thing to see was the way they used their library card catalog to hold candy.

Atomic Candy is located on the Denton Downtown Square. Its a candy shop featuring novelty candies as well as more common varieties. Theyre also a good place to buy gag gifts if youre ever in the market. If you can look past some of the creepy, antique décor they keep in the store front window, its totally a place worth checking out while youre on the Square.
