Johnny has gone above and beyond to help us on so many occasions. From custom skates, extra large gloves, best sticks for a big guy, emergency repairs, and countless hours educating, listening and fitting, I highly, highly recommend this team. They are responsive to all of my questions and requests, and always there when we need them.

If I need baseball equipment in the future, THIS is where I will go. The employees were EXTREMELY helpful and kind. Thank you!! They had a great selection! Where else can you get your glove broken in and then play catch with an employee for 10 minutes? I will travel the hour to get here. Its worth it!

At the store to purchase a new drop 3 bat for my son. We looked at bats for 10 minutes while 5 employees sat at the service desk, no offer to help. My son went to ask a question and one of them just pointed an area and said over there. He later asked a question about the clearance items and they simply said everything is out.There a total of 3 customers in the store and 5-7 employees with little to no help.Even during check out after spending $410, wasnt told thank you, it you need anything, please contact, nothing.Fortunately, we have been in baseball long enough to know what he needed.High end store with high end equipment, but low end/poor customer service.

“Superstore” yet doesn’t sell any team memorabilia whatsoever. Has a sign outside that says “shop with your team” Guys inside were less than helpful and rude said the sign doesn’t say that (100% does) Great business model. Owner is rude. Won’t be so smug when his store is shut down. Tried to come here instead of Olympia.

Very disrespectful, ignorant, and more importantly, sexist.I went in with the intent of helping my aunt find some catchers gear. We were helped by Lee, the store manager. He was not pleasant, didn’t want to work with us, and took forever to get to us due to helping people who came in after us, who’s groups were predominantly male. Lee did not want to take questions, and quite frankly seemed fed up and not attentive. As the store manager, I feel he should’ve been much more polite and attentive, rather then doing everything else other than help us. The store wasn’t even that busy.At checkout, we were ordering a catchers helmet online, and before payment, my aunt had requested a military discount, and Lee huffed and puffed and complained about having to start the transaction over, while the other gentleman helping us with our in person order had no problem adding on the military discount.My main piece of advice before you go in (if you even want to brave the disrespect) is have a predominantly male group, or have a baseball coach father and a player son. I will never go back, considering we drove 2 hours from Keene, NH to specifically get to this store.

As a goalie Mom I love that they always seem to have a goalie working who can help my son. The last time we were in to buy him a new glove we were helped by a super nice girl. I cant remember her name but she is goes to school in NY.

After COVID its the only place left to buy hockey stuff and get your skates sharpened. But it is the best store of what used to be around.

Drove over an hour and a half to purchase new catchers equipment for my son. Not only did they not have a good selection but also horrible customer service. Looking around and trying on stuff for well over 30 minutes and not a single employee came over to see if we needed help. Figured we would try them again as we have been there in the past but nothing has changed. Will not be going back again.

The store staff had zero hockey knowledge. There guy working with goalie equipment only went straight to one brand and didnt show is anything else. My local play it again was far better. If I need the big hockey store experience Ill just go to pure hockey in the future.

Great place to go and purchase hockey equipment! Huge selection and great customer service!! Brian helped me through the whole process of purchasing a new set of hockey girdle/shell combo. I tried on many different combos while Brian went and grabbed different sizes and styles. Ended up with a great set and cant wait to hit the ice. The goalie team goes above and beyond! My son was having issues with his skates hurting. The guys took their time with him, fitted him into the correct skate and size. Took the extra time to make sure he felt no pain in his feet. Every time I go in there for gear, or just to have my sons skates sharpened I get 100% professionalism!!

Every time I go in there they treat me like family. Brian, Johnny, and Jamie have taken care of all of my kids hockey needs as well as my own. The store is well maintained and stocked. Great place for novice to professional athletes and everyone in between

In accordance with CDC recommendations, we request that anyone over the age of 10, wear a face covering when entering our store, unless doing so would inhibit your health. a face covering can be provided upon request. Should anyone choose not to wear a face covering, customer/staff interaction will follow Social Distancing guidelines.Thats off their Facebook page. When I told them I had a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask, they said you still cant enter the store. Just be honest and say you dont let people in your store without a mask so its not a wasted trip. Theres plenty of other places to buy sporting goods that accommodate people with a disability.*UPDATE*There was a distasteful response by owner that said to go shop somewhere else. Surprisingly that portion of the review has been removed.

Brian and the staff were extremely helpful. They were knowledgeable about lacrosse gear and helped my son put together a great stick without breaking the bank. Brian saw how excited my son was about the stick and offered to string it while we waited! I went into the Derry NH store yesterday and was blown away. The customer service was through the roof. Brian took the time with my son on different goalie skate options. I play ice hockey goalie. I also moonlight as a hockey forward. This store has the biggest in person selection in the area of equipment. I have gotten two pairs of skates from here. Each time was excellent service. I liked I got what I needed and nothing I didnt need. Some other stores you can feel the pressure of the upsale.I also got all new goalie gear after 15 years. They fitted me and we spent a lot of time going back and forth about feel, fit and playing style. The gear I got is great and was a great deal.For my sons I get their hockey gear here and also their baseball gear. The staff was extremely helpful. We got gear that was quality. We werent sold into a $300 bat but got exactly what we needed. Overall, they will always have my repeat business.

Gotta love a store that cares more about making you a better goalie than selling you the most expensive new piece of gear on the market. Brian and his staff are the most knowledgeable guys around. I won’t shop anywhere else!

My comments geared towards company overall, not this store - they were very polite, helpful each time Ive been in there. Ordered stick online - son broke during 1st use. Told if I exchange it in store then company policy is Ive used the warranty & the replacement stick they provide HAS NO WARRANTY. Have never run into this at any other store/company or stick brand. They werent very clear on what happens if I return it to online dept. Thanked them for their time, told them last time theyll ever see a dollar from me.

After having purchased lacrosse equipment at big box stores we were super impressed with MonkeySports. The staff who helped us actually played the game and accurately sized our son up with the right equipment he needed. And, they didnt encourage us to overspend. Staff went above and beyond expectations. Highly recommend.

This place is a hidden gem! They have an awesome selection for Baseball, Hockey & Lacrosse, which happens to be the 3 sports that my son plays. They do a great job sharpening skates, have a huge selection of hockey sticks and an area where you can test them out. There is a large selection of ref/umpire gear, which most places dont stock. One of the few places left that have enough in stock that you can show up, look around and not feel like you can get something better online.

Awesome spot. If youre into lacrosse or hockey and youre in the area youd be silly not to stop in. Their selection for those two sports is unrivaled in the area. Their sales reps are always helpful.I would like to see some more ECD stuff on the shelves.

Helpful employees with great selection and wide range of prices. Ive been looking for some low end skates for my kids to learn with and to discover the joys of skating. Ive looked around and most places were very expensive, like hundreds of dollars. While they do have high end stakes at MonkeySports they also had some on clearance lower than I have found elsewhere.The young employee that assisted us was friendly and helped lace up all three pairs of skates. He even knew which brands of skates would fit my wide feet and found me a pair within my budget. At no time was I pressured into buying a higher priced item. Plus as an added bonus, all three pairs of skates were sharpened before we left. We left with three pairs of sharp skates with covers for less than $200, though they do have high end skates for a lot more if that is what your looking for.The only complaint I have was when they took the skates to have them sharpened they neglected to tell us where to pick them up, so we waited in the front of the store for an hour and were asked several times if we were still waiting for our skates. Someone finally suggested we check to see if they were already done and we discovered the skate sharpening shop where our skates were waiting for us.

Great experience. I went in looking for a goalie mask to replace the one Im currently wearing. I was asked what I was interested in when I walked in, I let them know and they notified their personnel in goaltending equipment that I was there. I was helped by a young goaltender who was very knowledgeable about the equipment and was able to help me find the perfect replacement.

Was very happy with the service. Helped me find a reasonable pair of skates for my 10 year old daughter who has never skated before.

I was extremely disappointed with my purchase in this store....In August my son was asked to be a goalie in a hockey tournament... we went to the store because they claimed to be experienced and said that they could fit my son with hockey pads. When we arrived they sent us down back with a young child claimed to be experienced with goalie equipment he sized my son and we purchased a pair of goalie pads for $389.00. He then wore them for the tournament.My son recently started a goalie clinic on October 12, the goalie coaches told me he would need new pads his were two sizes too big instead of a 28+ 1 he needed a 24+ 1.I called the store and explain the situation told them that they had only been worn a few times and has to bring them back and at least exchange them for the right size as they are employees who claimed to be experienced with him in the wrong size pads.The manager told me because we had purchased them over 30 days they would not do anything for us.Do not go in the store trusting that any employee knows what they’re talking about. Bring somebody experienced with you before making any large purchases.They are not experienced by any means!!

I would have to say by far this is one of the best places to purchase hockey equipment. Not only is the store laid out great but the employees are extremely helpful.

Sales reps are really good people, all enthusiastic about their jobs and knowledge. Unfortunately when you have an issue, you had better save your receipt because youll simply get a corporate response from a manager. I bought defective equipment that wasnt even worth much, but something that I would have expected to get a replacement or at least a discount as it was clearly only lightly used.The response I got was to take it up with the vendor. Thanks for standing by your garbage.

I placed an order for Sr shoulder pads through your website I was in the page for the Sr pads and clicked all the links there. For some reason the order went through as a Jr pad. I was very careful to make sure i did no order the smaller pads.I don’t know why it happened but I got the wrong pads.When I contacted customer service I was told I can get a refund and would have to re order the pads and pay for the shipping.I don’t feel I should have to pay for shipping the pads back and reorder the pads. A simple swap would have worked for me.I will return the pads today at my expense but I don’t plan on re ordering a replacement or anything else from you.Your website says great customer service, this is not a good example of good customer service.Well I returned the item at my expense and got my credit for $22.49. I paid $28.85. So with the cost to ship the item back $15.87 and the $6.36 that they didnt credit back it cost me $22.23 for a set of pads I couldnt use.

I walked in with my two young boys in a carriage, was informed very rudely from across the store that ‘they do not allow carts in their store’. I guess it could have been handled with much more tact, walking to me and quietly explaining rather than hollering at me in front of other customers and employees..., or perhaps an exception could have been made since I was attempting to keep my energetic boys under control instead of letting them run amock and be disruptive. instead I will not be stepping foot in this store again. I will be telling every mother in my life-many of whom need sport equipment- about this and I can guarantee that you won’t see them again.I didn’t even get a chance to do more than eyeball the products on the shelves from afar, so I don’t even know what prices and such are like..but for me, being insulted and embarrassed was enough for me to turn walk out and never return.

Lots to choose from kind of high prices but nice clean store

The MS in Derry is the closest one to our house we drive 90 minutes to go there to try out the new bats. Last year we went and both pitching machines were broken. Guess what this year they are both still broken, according to the staff there they have been broken for several years . Not only were both machines broken but so were both hitting tees and all the balls had the leather hanging off them. Keep in mind they sell tees and balls but you would never know it.The two staff members I spoke with said it was a joke, they said they have asked corperate to get things fixed but no response. We were looking for two high end gloves and bats for the kids for Christmass. I asked if I spend over a grand could I get some kind of discount and I was told no. Its full retail. So we tried stuff on and selected bats the kids liked and we will buy our stuff on line now that we now what sizes to get. The $459.00 dollar bat my kid likes (insane price I know) I bought for $310.00 on line. Hard to believe they can stay in business with this mind set.

The kid sharpening skates was great. when I checked out I grabbed a roll of tape which turned out to be 10 dollars. I asked if it could be taken off or returned the girl told me it was too late. I mean come on 10 dollars for a roll of tape! then 10 feet away as Im about to walk out the door some little kid asks to see my reciept and thoroughly checks it to make sure I didnt steal anything. not feeling the love monkey sports. typically I go to the local hockey shops for this reason. somehow they have better prices and they actually help! and they dont question my integrity after spending money. last time I was here I was going to buy 2 helmets that would have cost me over 500 dollars. but the guy left us to go clean something in back and never came back. so I went and spent that 500 at sports etc in Arlington where they made me feel like the only customer in the world until we were checked out. I hope someone from monoey sports sees this and it changes. hockey is a very small tight knit community unlike any other group of people and we trust each others opinions. Ill try one more time then Im just going to have to travel a little farther for our hockey needs.

If your blades get dull or you lose an edge, rather than go to Monkey Sports for a “sharpening”, just go outside the rink and scrape the skate blades sideways on the parking lot hot-top really fast. Try to use different angles and make sure you do both sides equally. Then, take a some low grain sand paper and rub your skates on it. Last, take a 6-pound maul and smash the blades on an an anvil. Maybe heat them first. Guaranteed you do a better job than the clowns at Monkey Sports who “sharpen” skates. My son is a junior in HS. His skates have been sharpened 1000 times since he was 4 and we’ve probably had 5-6 bad sharpenings. 3 of them have been at Monkey Sports.

Monkey Sports is hands down the best retailer we have dealt with since they came into the New England area. Recently there were technical issues with our sons goalie chest protector. He being up there and I being down in RI, along with a very short window for him to get what he needed done, the staff at the Derry store (Brian especially) had everything ready for when he walked in the door, got him fixed and back out the door. They communicated with me the whole time and did not try to sell me anything or our son when in store. Needless to say I will be purchasing some of the items he needs there today when I make the trip up. Thank guys, awesome work!!!! Competition for the Norwood, MA store which also has awesome customer service, I just wont have to pay a tax :)
