I love Porch Light so much! It’s probably my favorite shop in Des Moines. I just moved into a new apartment and it now looks like a showroom for Porch Light pretty much because I bought out half the place: rugs, school charts, primitive furniture, old barn wood picture frames, candles, dishes, silverware, Turkish towels, throws! I went bananas. This is also my favorite place for jewelry. Every piece I buy there is so unique. Kate the owner is awesome. She is just super kind and helpful and has impeccable taste.

This store is so cute! I found the perfect little plant and pots for Mothers Day gifts. The employee working was extremely helpful in pointing out things I didnt even see as there is so much to take in. I will definitely be back!

I have walked by this place numerous times and finally went in during the Christmas promenade. Wow what an awesome store! Went back and definitely bought some unique gifts. Highly recommend checking it out.

Love the store but so sad about the hours. It’s listed on both Google and Yelp they’re open until 6 but in reality they close at 5. I rushed downtown from work to get a gift by 6 and wasn’t able to.

Wow. Just wow. This store fits my vibes 100%. Kate, the owner is very sweet and helpful. This is going to be one of my staple stores. Thank goodness DSM has something as cultured as Porch Light. There’s something in here for everyone.

They have tons of cute prints and trinkets, and everything is very reasonably priced. My one complaint was that the desk clerk was pretty standoffish and acted like I was bothering her by buying something. Overall, I would definitely recommend if youre looking for some new wall art, just dont expect a friendly staff.

Yesterday was my first time in East Village. What a great place to shop! First stop was Porch Light. I fell in love with this store! So many antiques and one of a kind finds and Reasonably priced.. The owner was nice enough to let me leave my first purchase there while my daughters and I continued on exploring the Village. I will be back to Porch Light next time in DSM to visit my daughters!!!!
