Catering DSM did a fabulous job catering our wedding at the Temple for Performing Arts! Sarah is extremely professional, easy to communicate with, and has been such an amazing vendor to work with while planning a wedding during a pandemic. She really made this whole experience so much easier and was extremely flexible with our constantly changing plans. What made us appreciate Catering DSM so much more was how considerate they were of us having to transition from a 200+ people wedding to less than 30, waiving any previously established food and drink minimums. We are well aware that there are plenty of venues out there who have not been so flexible, so we are truly grateful for this.The food was amazing, and we loved how customizable everything was. What we really appreciated was how Sarah really listened to what we liked and made adjustments to the menu to fit our personal taste, from adding truffle oil to the mac and cheese croquettes to adding lobster tail to our entrée with less than a week’s notice. We also had a Hot Toddy Bar which was super fun and unique as well! The entire process was so easy, and we felt extremely taken care-of along the way. Thank you Catering DSM for a delicious evening!

Catering did our Corporate Holiday Party and we were very pleased. Food, service, and venue were amazing! Alex is so easy to work with and is very professional. I would recommend using them for any of your events!

Had an event last night and the staff and food was great. I highly recommend this company for all your event catering needs. They made the process easy and the food delicious. The bruschetta was out of this world! However they have plenty of options for any kind of budget. Thank you for making our event a delicious one!

So, I didnt actually have my wedding with Catering DSM but my best friend used them for her wedding and since I couldnt attend, I decided to plan a pretty elaborate surprise for the bride to be (with the approval of her family) and I needed to work closely with Catering DSM. I contacted Mallory at DSM to chat about my idea and she was 100000% on board with helping me, keeping it a secret and making sure my best friends day would be amazing. My surprise involved renting equipment, setting it up, doing a test run, coordinating with the band etc. She helped me with everything. She never got upset with my 10000 questions or my insistent emailing. The day went off amazingly and the surprise was perfect and the bride LOVED it. The best part too for me was, she knew how upset I was that I couldnt go, so she took photos and sent them to me personally so I could see what it all looked like and how everything was going. I couldnt believe it when I saw the personal photos she took, just for me, the best friend/absentee bridesmaid of the bride. If she was doing all that for me, I cant imagine how wonderfully she treats the brides and grooms. Truly I was blown away and I know my friend was too. What an amazing company and person to go so above and beyond to ensure everyone was happy. I highly recommend and especially recommend Mallory!

Catering DSM catered my wedding at West End Salvage in downtown Des Moines. I have nothing but praise for Lucas and his team. They were all consummate professionals and the food was delicious. A number of my guests commented on how pleasant and on the ball everyone was. Thanks for helping the evening go off without a hitch!

Organized a corporate event for ~300 with Catering DSM. The food served was an absolute bait and switch; we were presented with fabulous, beautifully presented food for our pre-event tasting. However, the food at the event bore no resemblance to what was served at the tasting.The beautiful hand breaded chicken breast became a chopped, formed, from the freezer abomination. Our fresh vegetable curry was reduced to canned veg in a thin yellow sauce. The creamy crunchy stringy Mac and cheese became a watery slop of overcooked elbow Mac.The service and staff were excellent, however, consummate professionals. Its a real shame that such a great team is backed by an absolutely dishonest shoddy caterer.

We had their Taco Bar, it was incredible! Great food great staff!

Unfortunately I was not very impressed with their company. They definitely caused me the most stress of my entire event. I found out Thursday night before my Saturday wedding that they had changed the table sizes, so I stayed up until 11 working on a new seating chart, which we got printed that morning before I left for my hotel. I then stopped by the reception room to check on things and found that they had yet again changed the number and sizes of the tables. I called them and they simply said that they thought this would work better and they were planning on sending me an email with the new set up at 2:00 that day so I could change my seating chart in time. Needless to say I had to scrap my seating chart and my parents ended up sitting in the far corner of the room. Then we got another surprise at the end of the night by our bill, it was not what we were told it would be and not wanting to ruin your amazing night we paid it. For instance with an open tab we ordered kegs yet they served and charged us for bottles instead. I never actually met the man in charge, we emailed but he was never available. I will say that the food was delicious but unfortunately all of our struggles overshadowed the positives.After my wedding I found out that my host couple was yelled at during the reception because there was no seating chart. Finding this out was just the toping on the cake. I cant believe that after ruining my seating chart and expecting me to scramble last minute to make a new one they had the audacity to be upset with the people who were gracious enough to help me.Save yourself the hassle and go with anyone else
