The food was good but the portion size is less for the price. Most curry includes complimentary rice but it isnt mentioned in the menu nor was it informed by the server. We ordered kadhai paneer and see the portion size for yourself. This is a bad strategy of including rice with the curry. Let customers decide whether they would like to order rice or bread with the curry.Their phone is not working but the staff said it should be fixed in couple of weeks. The air conditioning is not up to the mark.Their grocery store didnt had a trolley and only had baskets which is an inconvenience if you want to shop more.

I love everything I have tasted here, and have enjoyed their food even when they were in the old location under their old name. The service was always great. Since they have moved to the new location we have only got carry out so I can’t say how the new place is but the old location was clean and nice. My main complaint is that they have become stingy with the food. Butter chicken hardly has any chicken, my husband and I used to split an order but now it barely serves one. This makes me sad because it is delicious.

This place is so awesome! If youve never tried Nepalese food, you have to stop and give it a try. Being so close to India, and the spice trade for thousands of years, Nepalese food is full of amazing flavors. The restaurant also carries Indian and Asian foods from all over the world. They are also familiar with some Ayurvedic remedies for various health concerns.

I noticed this place a few months back and have been meaning to stop in to check it out, and boy am I glad I did. While the decor is nothing to write home about, it looks like they just put up their decorations over top what was there previously, but it doesnt matter because you are here for the food anyhow. The place is spacious and is neat in appearance. The wait staff is friendly but may not be the best for recommendations, as it seems they like everything on the menu ;-)We had the Chicken momos, Chicken curry, Lamb with mushrooms, garlic naan, gulab jamun, and rice pudding. They also provide some great side sauces to accompany your dishes. The Chicken curry and Lamb with mushrooms, both had great flavors and the meat was very tender. I also really liked the appearance and presentation of the dishes, as the consistency and definition of the dishes were well defined. We ordered the dishes with a medium spice level, at first I thought it was too mild, but it built up to nice flavorful heat.We ordered Garlic naan to accompany our dishes, they have several different flavors to choose from like onion and spinach, however it would have been nice if some plain naan would have been included with our dishes. While we were wrapping up our dinner they provided samples of the gulab jamun and rice pudding desserts. The gulab jamun is a pastry ball soaked in a sweet syrup, I thought the consistency was a little thick and the syrup was a little too sweet for my liking. The rice pudding had a great almond undertone and was not overly sweet. I liked them both, but will probably order the rice pudding on the next visit.

Ok, so I have no idea what the restaurant looks like, or what the customer service is like because we ordered on door dash, but I moved to Des Moines from the San Francisco Bay Area in California about 6 months ago. The SF Bay is a bastion of delicious foods, especially ethnic foods of all different types. You can find whatever you want there. Since moving to Iowa, I have found restaurants that I enjoy enough, but Spices of Nepal knocked it out of the park. Without a doubt the best ethnic food of any sort I have gotten since moving here. The flavors are incredible. We had the lamb Tikka, some garlic Naan, some Aloo Tikki, and a mango Lassi. I want more. I could eat here every day. Order it. Eat it. Enjoy it. Do yourself that favor.

Had dinner here with wife and friends as the E of our alphabet restaurant challenge.Parking lot was empty when we arrived at 5:30pm. One would think that service would be awesome given the lack of customers - yah, no. Drink order was quick but a good 10 - 15 minutes before she came back to take our order. The four of us each ordered different items and it took almost 30 minutes to get it out. By this time another family showed up, just us two parties. Now if everything was freshly cooked I could understand the time, but all the meat in each dish was dry and overcooked like it had been prepped a day or so ago and kept warm. I was looking forward to eating a lamb dish, which I ordered, the meat was bland, tough, dry and nearly tasteless if it wasnt mixed in with Indian spices and rice. Wife ordered chicken chow mien and it was like eating chicken jerky but with less flavor.Pricing was acceptable. For the wife and I the bill came to $35 with only water to drink.Maybe one day Ill go back and try again.

I have eaten at this location for about 3 times now. Biggest thing I look for when I go to any location besides food is how the people that work there treat their customer, and I would like to say this place was just marvelous. The appetizers are amazing, the main course is exactly how you want it to be, they kindly ask what sort of spices you want on the food. Deserts were amazing too. They always check to see if you need anything without having to wait for a waiter to free up. For a new restaurant they did a fine job, overall an amazing experience.

I’ve been pretty disappointed in this restaurant. I’ve given it three tries and each time it just hasn’t been up to snuff. The buffet is a little pathetic and the food is often bland. There isn’t a rich flavor palette like you’d expect from Indian restaurants. The chai is not good. The selection is scant. But worst of all is the music. They blast these Hindu hymns that are repetitive and quickly turn grating and obnoxious. Despite the proximity of this restaurant to my work, I don’t think I’ll be going back.

I regret that I hadnt been here sooner! Everest has been open for a while and this is my first time. If you remember one of the other restaurants that have been in there, I like what they did with the decor. The place looks clean and simple with an understated elegance. Our servers were very good. Very patient while we looked over a menu of food we werent accustomed to. And then the star of the show is meal. We both had lamb dishes that were in a spiced gravy type of sauce. Comes with rice and we added on the naan (a flat bread). Get the naan and dip it in the sauce from your entree. So good. Lamb was very tender. The sauces were out of this world with a good balance of flavor. Only drawback was our server was a bit slow to refill our drinks, but was attentive when we got his attention. Bottom line; I will be back and soon. Great job Everest. Highly recommend.

Dont let the outside scare you away. Their building needs some exterior TLC. My wife and I went on a Saturday night. We are new to the area and have been looking for an Indian food restaurant. The food here was excellent. Best chicken tikka masala Ive ever had. Lots of spices visible throughout and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Vegetable samosas are tasty and again cooked very well; not greasy whatsoever. The filling of the samosas is a potato lentil pea combination that is terrific. Garlic naan was very light and fluffy and crispy. My wife got the vegetable Curry and she also was very happy with the dish. This is a small family owned business with a small staff. I would guess service may be an issue if they were busy. Keep in mind the food will be worth it. Not a place to stop if you are in a hurry.

I am not personally a fan of Nepali/Indian food, so my rating is based primarily on the reaction of those I was dining with. They were very impressed. I was happy with my chow mein, which is a good choice if, like me, the dominant spices of India are not to your liking.

Almost all the food we ordered was mediocre at best. The chicken soup was the only bright spot for our party of five. My daughter ordered fried rice and there was something very burnt and off tasting about it. I tried it after she wouldnt eat it and it was the worst thing Ive eaten all year. The naan also tasted like it had raw garlic oil rubbed on it after it was done cooking. We were very surprised the food was so poorly done after reading all the amazing reviews. Will not go back.
