I patron this Captain Jays maybe twice a month. The Tilapia fish is what I found to be best. The side dishes and chicken is always good as well. The Perch fish however, has a really fishy odor and taste as if it is never fresh. Havent tried any other after those couple of experiences...went back to my Tilapia

Lets see what do I start first lady of all the Captain Jays Ive been to this is the only one that didnt have a line going outside of the door and I was wondering why so I put in my order just for some chicken and the chicken was done but it was standing on top of the counter for 5 minutes as well as my biscuits. naturally when I order chicken I will want a fresh without having to ask so when I asked the guy for new chicken or my money back he proceeded to become argumentative and asked me why I wanted my money backand as we know if Im asking for my money back I dont have to provide a reason as to why I want it back so to be met with such dogmatism really shows the culture of Captain Jays and Ill never come back to this one.my recommendation if youre going to spend the same money anyway just go a couple miles up the road and go to the Captain Jays on 9 Mile and Kelly where the food is always hot and always fresh

The girl with the little pony tail that works at the window here needs an attitude check. Minimum wage done went up so there’s no reason to be this upset not only that if you don’t like your job find another one. I shouldn’t have to feel concerned about my food because the employee is having a bad day. Not to mention I’m visiting from Florida so yea thanks!

If you do not go in and see your order being made you do not realize that they have prefied chicken the lady touched the chicken to see if its warm if the chicken is not warm theyre re- dipping the chicken in the grease. They also have pre-fry french fries and if the french fries are not warm theyre redipping the fries in the same Grease. This is so disgusting this is not right and I said something and and the guy blew me off and said it was like was going to be 20 minutes for fresh fried chicken.🤯😡

Food is pretty good as always but the greetings can be a little better. I realize the surroundings that the restaurant is in arent the best but the attitude helps. Customer service can really make any visit more pleasurable. Any greeting from the first employee you see can make or break a visit.Update went back today 02-19-18. I stand by my first review. Food is great. customer service needs a major make over. If you hate customers or your j9b then quit, Im sorry giving you my money is an inconvenience.

They season everything with lemon pepper seasoning! It is delicious! If you dont want the season, simple tell them when placing your order. Love their chicken. Great for catering large events.

Close & convenient. I was on my way out & decided to grab a combo with tilapia & tried. I havent been here in quite some time. No problems...today. Cashier was nice. Cook was doing his job. The other employees, of course, were being themselves...loud. Other than that, it was fine.

Good is good. Dont waste time calling ahead, they wont start cooking until order is paid for. They dont tell you that until you ask why order is not ready. Not sure if it is a company policy because I have had same explanation at other Captain Jays locations. A utter waste of time.

Always have nasty attitudesIt doesnt matter how polite you are when you place your order they are SO RUDE and nasty. They throw your food through the window and walk off half the time you have to beep your horn to get their attention because they NEVER give you condiments or silverware..... I love captain jays but this location is TRASH!

Food is hot and delicious! In love with the fries!!!! Can have some slow days, but for the most part the drive thru moves steadily. But you have to tell them to be sure to cook your fish or chicken well done!

They say if you cant say something nice...well a lot of people love their chicken,but mine was dried out.I guess I came at the wrong time of day and got leftover chicken.I was disappointed because the people I work with love it,and this place is growing like crazy.every time you look around captain jays is taking over Detroit. ad note,the owner who I think is a fabulous guy promised to give me chicken to replace the chicken I bought.i know that is more than fair since most people would not do that.thumbs up for captain jays.i m sure Ill have something yummy to talk about soon.stay tuned.

The food is really good and the restaurant is nice and clean. However, the customer service is far below my expectations. I witnessed a cashier go back and forth with a customer about him not asking for sauce, instead of just giving him the sauce when he asked.

The food is good but their customer service needs to be worked on. Not that my experience was bad its just that the person taking my order attitude wasnt pleasant and was real dry. I like a friendly atmosphere as its what makes me want to return.

I got hush puppies and okra. It was cooked well this time. The staff is polite and they do work hard. I dont eat chicken right now for several reasons. One reason is because I was given some old and decrepit chicken from this location before. Secondly, I stopped eating chicken because of these babies.

If I wasnt a patriot, Id wish that robots took over the customer service here. Makes you kind of appreciate that overly friendly McDonalds lady ... Just ONE TIME Id like to have an average experience with that here. Buuuuut, the chicken is BANGIN and the fries are perfect so I always go back and Im never disappointed in that respect. Then again, it could just be that RIDICULOUSLY good seasoning talking. Either way, kudos to the cooks ... Ill continue to suffer through the drive through for your food.

Theres always something going on at this location as far as patrons go. But the food is pretty good. You have to tell them what to put lemon pepper on if you want it. And tell them how much if you dont want them to go overboard, because they will!

My husband likes their chicken. I like the tilapia. I love the fries with the lemon pepper crack.

Good chicken the recipe for the chicken has a number of wonderful spices for flavoring. The fish is seasoned with spices that challenge your tastebuds.

Boy do I love their chicken!!!! They also have lemon pepper chicken which takes me back to when i lived in Michigan. They dont have any in Georgia And thats why it takes me back to Michigan

Chicken is always good, I never had a problem with the food, I always come back to captain jays on 7 mile and Gratiot area but I stay 16 mile and Gratiot thats how good the chicken is!!!😊

Food not ready...even after I gave her a time and see said it would...got rhere and (3) mins turned into my whole lunch break...and she still got my order wrong! Worst service ever.......we gotta do better my people!

Dont go here. Food isnt fresh, service is very bad. I walked in to order, they had food that was already cooked, and standing. I watched my order sit on the counter for nearly 10 minutes. Also ordered 2 biscuits, they looked as if t but they sat for days, not even under warming lights. When cashier packed the food, I told him I didnt want it. They actually argued with me then I asked for my money back, which ensued the man practically yelling. DONT GO THERE, DRIVE A LITTLE FURTHER TO 9 MILE AND KELLY CAPTAIN JAYS.

Container sweats chicken. Should used aluminum pans again. Will not buy again until container is changed back to aluminum pans.

The food was good, but kinda disappointed I still had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes, even though I called the order in ahead of time.

I always get the chicken tenders they are amazing in that lemon pepper seasoning its awesome but I have to be careful I have high blood pressure and I cant eat too much but its worth it LOL

Terrible I have been here once before had bad experience.I said I was never going to come back they are not organize at all. This practically time they dont allow me to use my H&R block card to pay for my food because theres no name on the card really I have never heard of that I have no problem no where eles on top of that when I was there the last time they took my debit card through my job and it doesnt have my name on it need to get it together.

Just left service is horrible I Live on E Grand Blvd I placed a order when I left my apartment I got there to pick my order up so Im standing there at the counter ten minutes then the girl on drive thru finally ask me what I want told her I got a pick up ticket #40 so I asked how long before its ready she said 2 minutes so the young dude frying the chicken food said do u want your order fried hard how can you fry 8 pieces fries and cheese sticks in 2 minutes never going back
