BEST DONUTS.I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Absolutely amazing donuts. Some of the best I’ve ever had. They have different flavors but run out quickly as the day goes. It is a small space which makes it a little tricky once there is a few people in the store but the donuts are one hundred percent worth it. If you are in Detroit, you have to stop here.

On Monday, June 21 at approximately 5:18pm, I went in with pure excitement to get some Dutch Girl Donuts. To my dismiss, yet understandable they were all out the traditional style donuts. And I was told rather rudely, “we close at 6pm”. I asked was it not possible to prepare a dozen.But to add insult to injury, she was on her telephone during my attempt to place an order. Once I told her that I’d give her my order once she got off phone, she became upset and short.There was a customer behind me who asked rather she was going to make anymore original donuts. She said NO but if you come tomorrow I’ll give you yours for free. I asked: “am not entitled to the same courtesy” her reply, “no ma’am”. I told her I was not intending to make her day bad or give her a hard time...I asked for an extra bag b/c as she could tell from me trying to understand what was available, that I was purchasing for someone else along for myself.As opposed to pass me an extra bag, she dismissed me and refused to pass an extra bag.Dutch Girl owners you are a Detroit Jewel and you should not accept disrespectful employees. I am a huge supporter of Detroit owned businesses but this experience has certainly put a damper in my appreciation and loyalty for tradition.

Great donuts and nice service. I feel awful for the workers here. Customers are a hair trigger away from losing it on the poor workers. They don’t do anything wrong. It’ll be something so simple as asking them for clarification when they’re not clear and the customers start to get super rude.

I went around11 am so I was hoping for fresh donuts. Sadly, they were far from it. Old donuts was what I received after buying 6 donuts all different kinda. This was my first time trying in 15 years them after I heard good things for years and it was a let down. I will try them one last time in hopes of giving a good review.

So they are temp. closed due to the fact of not finding enough employees...This story aired on FOX 2News (Detroit)....Donuts are awesome....parking is sketchy...although you can be in and out quickly....also you might want to have an extra dollar for the man outside that will give you a very nice compliment for you hard earned money....

I was in town visiting a friend, we started our day stopping by Dutch Girl Donuts for coffee and, yes a dozen donuts. Now Im neither a big sweets or regular donut person but I was informed that I absolutely had to try these. These donuts are seriously delicious! Those red velvet holes!? WOW! I had a difficult time stopping eating em. Everything we got was incredible.The other thing that impressed me was the staff. First Ive never been in a donut shop with bullet proof glass. Now that could be a little crazy, but the ladies that served us were genuinely concerned with making each persons visit a positive one, full of smiles and kind words. Surrounded by a neighborhood thats obviously struggling, Dutch Girl Donuts stands out as a welcoming beacon.

They got the best doughnut and hot cocoa used to be here a lot RIP timmer.

Came in on 8/6/2021.Mind you when i went last week they had the option of cash, OR if you use your card you have to spend at least $5.00. Im okay with that.Now when I cam in today, 8/6/2021, they had a cash only sign up, which I didnt see at first. The girl behind the counter with the braids and braces was very rude! First, No greeting. I asked for half a dozen, Cinnamon & twist. She yelled out no Cinnamon in a discourteous way & impolite tone. I then said, okay ill just have the twist. She bagged them and threw them onto the turn table. When I seen the dark screen on the card machine I asked if they took card, she pointed to the Cash only sign (which I did not see) and rolled her eyes. I just walked out. My family has been coming here for yearssss and the customer service is normally decent. But this woman was over the top for no reason.Now, the donuts are great when they are fresh. And the gentleman that works there is very nice. If I go there again, hes who I would prefer to serve me.3 stars bc they need people behind the counter with friendly faces, and ready to help.

I like Dutch girl donuts. My question is why are you open so late and you only have glazed donuts and a few Bavarian cream. I think I went at 6 PM. It would be great to have an assortment to chose from. Maybe it is cheaper to serve glazed.

I love going here the donuts 🍩 are always fresh and delicious. Word or warning. Call before you go. Got there after driving about 15 to 20 minutes only for them to be closed at 6:30 in the evening. When Google states they close at 10pm. Called the next morning (9:30am) to verify the hours the person that answered the phone says they close at 10pm or whenever they run out of donuts 🍩

Donuts are great, but the customer service is the worst! And to think I was there purchasing donuts to promote their company in a film (free of charge) to give back to small businesses in Detroit. Scratch them off the list. Will not be back!

Donuts are good however customer service isn’t the best. I’m not sure if the young lady with the faux locs and nose ring that assisted me was upset with someone, on her period, or what but either way having a bad attitude won’t work for me. I was quite nice to the young lady so the irritated look on her face and pressured tone used with me was unwarranted. Not looking for someone to be overly happy I just expect basic customer service and decency as a human.

The level of customer service I received Thursday morning, April 15, 2021 was absolutely HORRENDOUS!!! The lady servicing me was full of attitude from the moment she started helping me. Not to mention, I was extremely patient with her because she was alone and I was trying to help her by speaking slowly and simply allow her time to get my order together. Nevertheless, she was very short with me and her entire demeaner was wrong. What REALLY topped it all off was that she accused me of laughing (and Im only assuming at her demise, her situation at the time....I truly dont know) when I was having a brief exchange with another customer in the store and went completely off and proceeded to pick an argument with me. Longer story short, her customer service and professionalism or very lack thereof was a complete turnoff and it sucks because my family loves this place and frankly I dont plan on revisiting. I attempted to revisit the establishment in hopes of speaking to someone in charge. After calling four different times and not receiving an answer, when I went back this morning, I was met with the same person from yesterday who still had the same attitude all over her. So needless to say I left yesterday with my money and no donuts and today I left with no resolve but continued grave disappointment. I only hope for this establishments sake that they revisit what true customer service really is and whatever issues they may be battling personally they learn how to leave those issues at the door and handle the public accordingly. I will always remember that day and will tell anyone about it and unfortunately I will not be back.

Donuts are great but they dont open at 6 am.. They dont even look at you even though theyre in there, or answer the phone. At least let people know when youre going to open up. I really dont think thats too much to ask.

This place has really gone down, when it comes to customer service. I have arrived several times and the store is unable to open because there is no one able to run the register. Also, those running the register are often unprofessional and inappropriate. There have occasions where people have been verbally abusive and inappropriate. I am sitting outside the store right now at almost 8 am and they have yet to open. The donuts are still very good if you can get past the poor customer service. It was not always like this.

We had a top notch experience here. They are so friendly and kind, their donuts are so good, and the prices are in the customers favour. On street parking only.

Very disheartening. Can we post accurate, up to date information? According to Google, youre open. According to the blue ink typed sign on the window that says Temporary Hours, you open at 6 A.M. There are cars lined up outside. Im in anticipation of what Ill order and can see donuts on the speed racks inside... but the door is locked. 🙄 Its about 7:15 A.M. The employee inside yells out the shop will open at 11:30... What the?!?! I get things may happen which might cause a business to open later, but can we post correct info to keep customers informed- take a piece of paper and post a sign to the door, something?

I have been searching for really good yeast donuts since moving up to MI from TX, and these guys are 100% worth the drive to Detroit. I will go back just for them.

Best donuts, never had a cinnamon rolls so small, but to be honest I would rather have a small donut over a huge one anyday, I have had these on the counter going on 2 days and they still are fresh tasting. So happy with Dutch Girl Donuts

2019 food tour of Detroit and was interested to find that donuts are a Detroit food you must try. That’s when I found DGD, the best doughnuts I’ve found in the U.S. Perfect frosting that was sweet and crispy with a unique softness.and the dough is the literal definition of levitation. Must get a dozen or you have failed. 9.3 I work on a 10 point scale!

Ok I used to come here with my dad all the time. The donuts are great. That’s not the issue with this establishment. The issue is they are never open when they say they are. At 6 am and 7 am they still do not answer phone or open door even though their Facebook page claims they’re open. Customers have expectations and this place fails to meet those expectations. If you want good donuts there are several great donut spots around the area such as Donut Cutter, Apple Fritter, Daily Dozen, and the holy grail Krispy Kreme. You’re better off getting your donut fixin from one of those places.

There is NOTHING like Dutch Girl. If you are lucky to get hot donuts you will never eat at any other donut place on Earth. Fresh made every day so you are always getting the best possible donut. Theyve got coffee too, although I cant speak to its flavor profile.

The doughnuts are delicious and somewhat light and soft. You can eat three without a problem. The prices are pretty good too. The area isnt the best but you probably already knew that and the shop could use a little updating.

Donuts are good but dont go out of your way to get them, youll be disappointed. Hours posted on Google or in the store window are not correct. Dont bother calling to ask when they open, they wont answer. I got there at 730am, doors locked I see donuts and workers. So I go back to the car and call they ignored the phone. They open whenever they want.

I always like supporting the small businesses....if everyone pitches in just a little bit, it will definitely be able to stay afloat..anyway I wasnt all tht Impressed I got hyped up by ton of people said place was bomb...I mean it wasnt bad or anything..Just expected it to be way better is all..

So yummy. I am not a fan of red velvet, but their donut holes are AMAZING. Everything is tasty. Super cheap. If you can get past the people wanting your money outside of the shop, you wont be disappointed you went there.

I went there for the first time today. Their hours online state they are open until 10:00 pm. I was there arond 4:45pm. Their store was closed and totally clean which means they closed long before then. In their store was a sign stating they were open until 6:00 pm. Very disappointed. You need to correct your times.

I went there Tuesday and Wednesday and not only were they not open either day, but there is no sign letting you know when they are returning or if on vacation. This new management is terrible and the voicemail has been full for a year. There was always a sign letting you know if they would be closed for an extended period. Plus the baker seems to be angry ALL the time. Mouth poked out, scrowl on her face etc. Dont think I will be going back until they get their management together

Just left this place after standing in line for about 15 minutes just for me to get inside and there were no donuts. So my issue is why didn’t someone come out to tell the folks who were waiting in line that there was no more donuts for the evening no regard for people time . This place have great donuts but definitely not worth wait or no regard for my time so I’m over it maybe this was a sign for me not to eat the donuts and risking diabetes!!

There is not a better donut that Ive had. Not Dunkin, not Krispy not Tim Hortons. Dutch girl has it down! Theyre small but full of flavor and theyre made fresh. In fact, you can watch them make it. It is a small place and not the easiest to notice from traffic. I come all the way from Hall road and 94 just to get my donuts from here and yes its worth it! The staff is friendly and professional and the place is clean as far as I can see and tell. This truly is a secret Detroit gem... why do I say its secret? Because I have yet to find anyone outside of Detroit who has heard of the place. (Sorry but my children damaged the donuts while in the car)

This place is very nasty... went yesterday and all they had were donut holes and they were stale... the place was very nasty... flower still on the trays in the window... looks as if they have not cleaned this place in months... I want to like them but I just cant. Worker has very poor attitude and customer service...holes in the baseboards of the floors... just nasty... Im good

I have been eating these donuts for over 30 years and the quality is not the same. I stopped by the first day they opened back up to give it a try and the blueberry donut tasted salty and the glazed twist wasnt the same. Maybe its the quality of the products.
