This is the best shop in Detroit, hands down. I have been shopping here monthly for years. The owner and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Their products are great. I usually get oils, scented candles, gems, and toiletries. Do yourself a favor and make Djenne a part of your regular routine.

Beautiful Shop with a lots of African tradition and culture. Authentic merchandise that is definitely from Africa. Very nice loving people and extremely pleasant. Sumare and his staff are always ready to explain and educate you about the origin of the African art in the shop and its history. I sincerely and strongly recommend anyone to visit the Djenne Beads & Arts in Downtown Detroit.

The owner makes me feel so comfortable when shopping she is a beautiful person. I like her products because they seem authentic and of quality. I Love this shop!Ive been shopping here for 5 years now. The variety of goods that they sell here are wonderful. Not only do you get authentic items, but you could easily lose track of time checking everything out! I am addicted to the raw black soap, the oils, the jewelry and the energy stones!

Love Ms. Itari, such a wonderful woman with a kind spirit, as well as Mr. Mahamadou great conversationalist very informative man who knows his Gemstones, and his craft. Overall great environment been going there for several years started out with husband whom now received his wings, and they knew him well. Will continue spending my money for years to come. The lady thats mostly there, she is always welcoming. She has a kind spirit. The store has a variety of different kinds of soaps, along with men and women perfume oils.

Really like this store. It is loaded with beautiful and unique African clothing, jewelry, beads and art. My favorite part: the perfumed body oils. They have a large selection of fragrances for men and women and men. The oils are very reasonably priced and you are always met with a smiling face. They are located in the International Market Place, right next to Fishbones downtown. So, parking may be the only hiccup. They are worth it.

Love this store. There is some beautiful loose and flowy clothing for women here. Great collection of dresses, art, menswear, beads, incense, jewelry, just all things Afrikan! Places like this excite me! Whenever I am in Detroit, I go here. The only thing is the store is tight, so I wonder if I could bring my friend in a wheelchair.

This is a great little gem in Greektown. My mother turned me on to this place, and they have all kinds of African beads, clothing and accessories. I love it! Everytime I visit from Ohio I stop here.

Ive been going to the Djenne shop for well over 10 years and no matter where I am, in or out of the city I will travel to Djenne to give them my business. From the very first day of entering the shop everyone was extremely polite and inviting and no matter who you are or what you look like you will be treated exactly the same way! I feel confident in saying that this shop has the best of everything from Incents, to clothing, art, shea butter, and especially jewelry.
