Great staff. Just walked in to find a screw to a pot lid that wasn’t quite right from the factory and couldn’t be located at either Loews or Home Depot. Also needed the Silicone washer/ring for it (so I thought) and was a bit skeptical about whether or not they’d have either. But, to my surprise, not only did they have the screw for the lid they also informed me that the silicone ring wasn’t needed. I thanked them and proceeded to pay but was shooed away by all 3 gentlemen at the counter(one was obviously the manager) and told not to worry about it. Whoa. Not the size of Home Depot but did something they’d probably never do. Gave me a hard to find product for free. Great experience.

Got a glass pane for a window. Called ahead to have cut about 20 minutes before closing. It was ready and was waiting within 10 minutes. Very efficient and professional.

At brooks lumber you are treated respectfully and with dignity . They care about their customers. If you have a particular product in mind and cannot retrieve it yourself they will assist you. As a senior I had need of a particular product and left with exactly what I needed. I highly recommend their products, and your visit will be such a memorable one you will recommend it to others.

Great old fashioned hardware store, could spend hours in there! Reasonably priced and helpful service. Much better than going to Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

I visited here many times recently and I am totally satisfied with Brooks.The staff is very knowledgeable. I have yet to have a question go unanswered. If the person you ask cant answer your question, they refer you to another person who can.Their selection is top notch. Again, I have never had a problem getting tools, parts building supplies, or hardware.Their prices are even cheap!!!When in the area, I always shop here. Use Brooks for lumber and hardware and skip the big box stores

I love these guys. Ray is the best. It says something about these guys if the same people have been working there for years. I’ve had the same guy ring me up, and the other gentleman find stuff for me in the isles for the last 6 years! Highly unusual to build that kind of longevity with hardware store employees. Tells you how well managed this place is. If they don’t have what you are looking for, they either find it for you or get it for you. They communicate with you so effectively. I just feel important and valued by everyone here, I really appreciate you Brooks Lumber, hope you last another 100 years.

Talk about customer service! Hector who works there was able to take care of all my needs quickly while I was in a very tight time constraint. I purchased a hammer and needed it to be stained and adjusted very quickly and cheap! Couldn’t be happier, they have my business.

Every time Ive gone in here through the years, it is a positive experience. The workers are always helpful and there is a whole lot of stock packed into that place. For a delivery, the process was much more smooth and quick than I anticipated. Lucky for me, it must have been a mellow day, because the delivery came AN HOUR after I stopped in to place it. Both the guy who took my order and the delivery person were very helpful, thorough, and polite. Prices are very fair. Will shop here again and would suggest for any locals or those passing through to throw their business Brooks way.

This place has everything and is much closer than driving to Home Depot or other stores. The people here are always very helpful and what they dont have, they can order. I wish they were also open on Sunday (and had later hours).

Full service hardware store better than the big box stores. Over 100 years of service to the Detroit community and hopefully another 100 on the way. The store is a maze so ask the very nice people who work here for help. This may be the only hardware store that serves downtown even if it is in Corktown.
