I live in excess of 30 minutes from Northern Tool. The online store said there was one sprayer tank left. In order for me to drive there and make sure there was a tank left, I contacted the store. The clerk checked the shelves, said that they did have one left, and would hold it for me. I paid online with PayPal and everything went smoothly. I can appreciate good customer service and today the service was 5-star.

Normally I am very happy with this store but I was upset enough after leaving this location the last time I will probably shop ACME Tools instead. I had an issue with a sprayer so I called Northstar and the guy was super great. He determined the pump was bad and under warranty. Said I could go to the store and they may have one to swap it out. I went to the store and no one wanted to help me. I literally got bounced between 5 different people. The Manager Craig was unwilling to help me or his employees. I was told since they didn’t have it in stock I would have to pay for a replacement. As soon as I left I called and they had a replacement sent out, I got a tracking number in less than an hour. In summary the store sucks at customer service!

Terrible sales and service every time I go there, no one has a clue what’s going on or where items are. Last product I bought there I had to order out of catalog which they only had one catalog in the store and sales person couldn’t find what I wanted on his computer. I had to bring in a catalog from home to order what I needed. Then took over a month to get it! I just order on line now and pay the extra shipping so I don’t have to deal with the unskilled rude employees.

They were great. I went in by recommendation of an Oreilly employee. They handle a lot of trailer parts. Boy was he right. Fleet Farm didnt have it and Northern was better priced on everything. The employees are also very helpful. Keep it Northern Tool & Equipment.

Tried to order a 4200 dollar stand by home generator from NT. At one point there was 8400 dollars of authorization charges on our card, and first charge never dropped off.On the phone for hours, about 1o to 12 all together. Out of pure frustration, I cancelled order. When I cancelled, NT added a third authorization hold. Now there is almost 13000 dollars worth of hold charges on our card rendering it useless. Had we had some sort of an emergency, our only card would have been nothing more than a window scraper.Thanks NORTHER TOOL for absolutely nothing, but an ulcer. Will never shop MY again, and certainly wont recommend to anyone. Especially for a major purchase!What a shame!Thought NORTHERN TOOL was a better company than that.

PRETTY GOOD PRODUCTS

I came in with a large list of tools and accessories having no idea what half of them were. The employees were able to quickly locate the tools as well as give an explanation of what they were and why they recommended the specific tool that they did. Very good service and selection.

Staff was very helpful in picking up order and researching a problem when one item was back ordered.

Convenient location and very very helpful and knowledgeable staff. The service department has helped me out a lot. I am trying curbside pick up today for the first time.

The Sales staff are very friendly and exceedingly helpful. They know what great customer service is and they deliver. They have a big selection of tools from small to large. About anything youll need for working on cars, welding, carpentry, masonry. They have everything you might need for your trailer and sell good quality built trailers at reasonable prices. Check for sales; there is usually a discount either in their flyer or on the web.

Described item I needed, worker says, I dont have any of in the shelf but lemme go check the stockroom quick.. Comes back 2 minutes later and hands me the exact part I described. Thats the service you get.It didnt take much for him to do that but it makes a huge difference to the customer when they really listen and help you get what you need. Great supplies and help from workers!

I had bought a sand blaster from them and discovered that it had a defect from the factory. The manufacture of the sandblaster was not helpful so I decided to try going through Northern to remedy my problem. They were extremely helpful and within 20 minutes of being at the store they had gotten me the new piece to replace the one that was defective. Would buy from them again!

They had an ad on Craigslist for a kayak trailer at an unbelievable price so I emailed them to make sure it was still available and to be sure the price was real. It was, so I asked if they could hold it for me and I would drive up (from the Twin Cities) in a few days to pick it up. They agreed to put a Sold sign on it for me and I went up during the weekend to pick it up. Very helpful in loading it into my vehicle.

I have not been to the Duluth store as I live in Grand Rapids MN. but it would be nice if I could get stuff directly from this store as its only 80 miles from here via order online from Duluth

Customer service was good, but they gave me the wrong item. When you pick up large items, they ask for the receipt to make sure you paid, and they have the right item. I got about 45 minutes away, and realized that I was given the wrong item. Went back got the right one, things were fixed in a timely manner. Just a big inconvenience for me, so when you purchase an item that the employees have to load, please check the item number.
