I needed makeup and application guidance for an upcoming wedding and the staff made me feel very welcome and cared for. The guidance I received was much needed and appreciated. I highly recommend this team of experts!

I love that if Im disappointed in a product I have a timeframe to return it for a refund. Extremely helpful for trying expensive products! Im much more likely to buy at their store than somewhere online because of this. The points system in which you can collect for future discounts is a cool bonus too. Love, love, love everything about this place- from the fantastic employees to the store itself!

It is always packed (which is good for them) but hard if your trying to get in and out quickly. Also, trying to assistance in the hair product section is impossible.

Poor Customer Service, lack of customer sevice. Quality of make up sub-par. Make up over priced and not that impressive. Variety of products extremely lacking. Promptness of service-zero and the selection of non-cruelty products is almost nothing or nill which means anyone wearing these products agree to testing on rabbits and other animals which brings them great harm and pain. Sickening kening. More people need to withhold their dollars because Cruelty and lack of compassion is never okay.

Let’s start with their “eyebrow-bar”. Awful. They draw on your face as if they know what they are going to wax off... may as well shave your eyebrows completely off.Their “point” system that they have is ridiculous for members. You have to spend a tremendous amount of money to get ANY kind of discount.Save your money. Go to Sephora. They have the best rewards and samples.

The stylist burned my scalp. I was going blonde. She pasted my roots with the bleach, and sat me under the heat. She told me to tell her if it got itchy or burning. I told her twice that it was itchy and she just told me to hang on for a couple more minutes because it was still processing. Couple days later I had scabs all over my scalp. Called and told them about it and they just told me to go to a dermatologist. Will not be going to the Ulta Salon in Duluth,MN ever again.

I had a bad hair job done and let me say, I called and played phone tag with the salon manager and finally we got connected.....she didnt have any openings until Feb 18 and here she got me in in 3 days of talking and my hair turned out AMAZING! I refer to Joy as the fairy god mother of my skin. She took what was basically the desert of skin and through facials and product recommendations, has transformed my skin into the most moisturized and healthy skin I have ever had. I now live 6 hours away from her and make it a point to make an appointment with her when Im home. One of the most amazing things about Joy is that she is only just a comment or message away if you cant get an appointment right away! Ive been to other Ultas in the Milwaukee area, and no one offers as amazing and personalized services as her!

Worst experience ever!! My friend and I went in there today and we were being followed the entire time. I work in retail so I understand when you think people are stealing but we have absolutely NO reason to follow us. We were just trying to enjoy looking at makeup and they made it unbearable to be just walking around. They were staring at us and talking on their walkies right in front of us. After being so uncomfortable walking around we check out and had the absolute rudest worker. I don’t remember her name but she had pink hair. She was giving us absolute attitude, rolling her eyes at us, and was harassing us. If anyone from corporate would like to reach out that would be appreciated because they need to be doing better and not act like we are trash. Completely disgusting.

I was looking for a stylist in Duluth who was familiar with curly/wavy hair, and Im so glad I found Jessica! I got my first Deva cut from her, and Im more than thrilled - in addition to an amazing cut, she was happy to teach me techniques for styling and give product recommendations. She was a great listener as well - I highly recommend Jessica at Ulta!

The current staff team is amazing and so helpful! I didnt even need help/have questions; but I watched as they went out of their way to help a few women that needed a lot of advise and recommendations. The staff listened to the womens concerns and pointed them to products that would actually help. Its always refreshing to see amazing customer service!

I went in to the salon for hair and makeup on my wedding day. So it was me, and 5 others. Ulta was very good at getting is in there and all of the stylists were very nice. The pic with the pin up hair is the style I wanted. I picked out my wedding dress with this hairdo in mind. Without any glasses, I cant see anything so by the time the stylist had finished(and she checked the photo for reference several times) I put on my glasses to see the bottom picture. I have no idea how she thought these were similar at all. Unfortunately I still had to have makeup done and we were short on time so I couldnt have her fix it. I wish she would have just said she didnt know how to do the style and we could have figured out something else. I hate the way my hair looked for my wedding and still dont have any pictures printed out from it. This happened a while ago, Ive been married over a year now, but my mom is still asking for pictures so thats what reminded me to leave the review. Everyone elses hair looked phenomenal and mine was something I could have done at home with a hair tie.

The staff is so helpful! I worked with Tessa, and she assisted me and took my questions for well over twenty minutes. The salon service is excellent. Marla is super friendly and cut my hair exactly how I like it. I also like the Ulta makeup they have because its affordable and works well. My only complaint is that half the time I go there totally clueless and the staff doesnt offer to help.

Always uncomfortable when I come in, nothing is ever is stock and I have to run around trying to find someone for help, returns are difficult, and many times the associates have an attitude towards me. When they gave me a customer service number, the number went no where. I always feel like I have to run in and grab what I need and run out.I was not going to leave a review but I sick of feeling this way as a customer, and I’m sick of how I’m treated, there is only one nice employee I’m happy to see there.

Jasmin has cut and styled my hair 3 times. I’ve also had her color my hair. She did a fantastic job!!! That’s why I keep going back to her. I have very dry wavy hair. She was able to create an easy style that works for my type of hair and works with my shape face. I only wish she worked in the cities. I live in the twin cities and wait to get my hair cut until I take a trip to Duluth.

Great service, nice selection, but very expensive. Going to Walgreens for items that are more readily available and less expensive, such as sun spray.

Ive always been a beauty junkie, so I love Ultas selection and rewards program. I recently got a signature haircut (a haircut with an affordable and effective conditioning treatment) done at the salon and Im super happy with how it turned out! My hair is very wavy/curly, so its difficult to find a stylist who understands how to cut it well. My hair looks and feels amazing, Im so appreciative that my stylist was skilled and curl-friendly. Also it was neat to get some additional reward points for using the salon. :) Yay.

Just came back from Ulta, very very disappointed. The lady who cut my hair was nice, but I just did not get the haircut that I wanted. I showed her the picture of what I wanted, but she was so hesitant to cut my hair as I requested.My last haircut was a year ago. What she did was cutting 1 inch of my long hair uniformly everywhere!!! Unbelievable!!! She did not even manage to get rid of all the bad ends. She was just an incompetent hairdresser.Nobody noticed that I got a haircut when I came home!

I came in to the miller hill mall Ulta beauty store in Duluth MN to look around. I was approached by an older women with medium length brown hair, who was wearing a white coat. This store associate never told me her name but was very rude and snooty to my boyfriend and I. This experience will send me to Sephora next time I’m looking for new products.

For the most part, the employees are helpful....unless youre not as fully put together as some would prefer. Ive gone in a few times with a sweatshirt, no makeup, kinda crazy hair and have been treated differently than when Im all done up. They seem to sometimes cater to their ideal customer.

Hit and miss. I’ve had times where I have to ask for help and I’ve had times where they ask if I need help. Which does not bother me to have to ask but a little more friendly ess could be doable. I cannot believe that Ulta doesnt have the capabilities to refund purchases on a card. I bought something as a gift via online, which I tried to return in store (I had the return form with me and all info) but since I left my card at home... They could NOT accept the return and refund to my card. I live in a small town two hours away from this store. I want my refund :(

I went here for a hair cut, it was ok. The girl was nice and when leaving the salon I thought I liked the cut. Now its been a few days and the cut is fine but she really didnt give me the layers I asked for. My hair is thick and I like layers that are more choppy and feather down so it thins out the bottom of my hair so it doesnt look so thick. What she gave me was short blunt layers that makes my hair look thick. Dont think Ill go back here, to expensive for stylists who dont listen.

They never have anything in stock! It almost looks like theyre going out of business. I went there for 5 specific things, left with 1. Tried talking too 2 different workers due to a eyeshadow that was damaged. After one flat out walked away from me, the other one took 10 minutes to determine that there was no more and no more coming in. But I was welcome to order it and pay shipping. I didnt like that option. She said they could order it at registers and then theres no shipping. Problem is, register girl knew nothing about that so it never got ordered and the damaged eyeshadow was back on the shelf when I went to look for something else!Update 10/19/19... well they still dont have what I went there for. Multiple items out of stock again. Talked to the register person as Ive been advised to do and she didnt care to look. Told me to order online because they have NO control over what is sent to them. I told her if I order online from home, its not free. It has to be ordered online from store for free shipping. She only said oh. Im not sure why they keep telling their workers to tell customers this when theyre just not willing to order the items in store.

I love Ulta Beauty, though the last haircut was very disappointing. I was trying to grow my hair long. The stylist did not listen and I ended up with layers and about 1.5 inches cut off. I will not be returning to the salon.

My daughter paid $75 for an updo for prom and it the stylist spent less than 20 mins on a bun that was slicked to her head. Absolutely no volume to it - I have done better and I am horrible at styling hair. I would give a zero if it was possible. Will never return. So disappointed because the store staff are always fabulous to work with.

Staff is young, unprofessional, condescending and not only ignorant about their inventory but also about the fact that they are in a service industry. That means you try to serve/listen to/understand/ help the person who might make a purchase and thereby pay your salary! Nope.

Got my eyebrows done at the brow bar - Hayley was fantastic and even recommended the perfect shade of eyebrow pencil for my hair color.

Im writing a review based on the HAIR SALON.I have gone here twice for my hair. The first time I came in the store to get my eyebrows done and was talked into getting my hair dyed. I liked it and the price was good. This second time I went in i had a stylist name Amy which I had an appointment for a color correction. I dyed my own hair pink and I wanted it fixed to be a better looking bubblegum pink. When I called to make the appointment I was told her schedule was cleared to help me. When I arrived I showed her multiple pictures of a bright bubblegum pink. She said it will take at least 3 hours. She used a color remover and bleach. When rinsing my hair of the bleached she went in with 3-4 different toners. After the 2nd toner she said she didnt have time to dye it pink and she will charge me for a total blonde instead of color correction. I was very upset and started crying but due to my anxiety i kept it hidden. My hair looked more blonde then pink. She said I can dye it myself to get a brighter color. NOT DO IT HERSELF. I paid $155 when a total blonde is $110. Due to the toner I cannot dye my hair the way I want. would of rather just left after the bleach. i regret wasting my money. I liked my hair better before i wasted $155. On top of it she wasnt very friendly like all the other staff there either. I just sat in silence.

This store is always out of products Im looking for, even though it says it is available online. It is impossible to find staff unless you are in the prestige makeup area or the registers, as the rest are typically seen chatting with each other and are generally unhelpful. This is unfortunately the worst Ulta store I have been to, and at this point I think I will avoid going to the store while I still live in this town.
