Its a small hardware store, so obviously it wont have every single thing you need. For most small fixes, however, its fantastic. The owner is knowledgeable and friendly, and he has pointed me to other hardware stores if he doesnt carry what I need. Small town feel, and a definite sense of community that we tend to lose with bigger stores. Worth a visit to support a local business. Bring cash!

Dumont Hardware has anything and everything you need. The owner Bill, is not only friendly but knowledgeable of everything in his store. Even his friends give you free advice. His friend, Newton, advised me on how to store ice melt so it would last un damaged. I simply love this place.

Best Old Fashioned hardware store in Pascack Valley. If you need two screws to finish a home project, Bill Sheridan will find them for you,In the back. The charge will be 12 cents, not $2.50 for a sealed bag of 15 screws that you will never use again. Sales are calculared on a brown paper bag. If not carried, Bill will tell you the best place to find the item, usually a contractors supply shop that welcomes non-contractors.

What they dont have, they can get for you, and what they do have in abundance is good advice. Bill not only knows hardware, he also knows Dumont and the surrounding communities. What you get when you buy from him is confidence, and, while its hard to put a price on confidence, its value is quite clear.
