The best thrift store in the world if youre at all outdoorsy. Worth the trip to Durango from anywhere within a few hours drive. Always new things to covet. Reasonably priced new goods as well.

Exceptional!! Bryce was so helpful with my bike rack and seat, especially since I am new to mountain biking and have absolutely no idea of what Im doing. I didnt realize I had come in right before closing either (I thought it was at 7 instead of 6) and they were still so patient and considerate. Love this place!

Good spot for quality used sportswear. Becoming a little boutique, when we still need good quality traditional brands. I found a good jacket, but it was very dirty. If it isnt clean, dont accept it. Still like DOE very much.

Awesome store, clean, cute, great variety of items. Thought some of the consignments were on the pricey side but then I’m not from the area so supply and demand could be a factor. I certainly will visit again and think you should also!

Honestly, If I really think about it, Id rather not leave an awesome review about this place, because I might miss that next perfect deal on an item if someone else snags it! That being said, they are super helpful, nice and knowledgeable, and if youre like me and adventuring on a budget and rough as hell on gear, this is the best place to go! If you buy something that isnt quite working out, or you get gifted more than one of something, or whatever... bring it here and they will seel it for you and get store credit. Its like the circle of.life without lions. A d there is Adventure gear. There could.be lions. If you adventure in Africa, so maybe lions.

The store dogs are the cutest. And the gear is always exactly what you need (or just want) at the lowest prices! I find myself stopping by there almost every week to see what new things they have in stock, and to just say hello to the friendly faces. The staff was super helpful and friendly, as most people in Durango are. They had alot of used and new equipment to chose from and great prices.

My partner and i had an incident with our RV and needed a metal rack for the back of it STAT! We went in, definitely not expecting DOE to have one, and the salespersons eyes lit up when we asked! It was in great shape and very well priced. We also picked up a Mountain Hardware and Outdoor Research jacket for a huge markdown from retail. Thanks DOE!

Occasionally I find great deals here on clothes and gear but lately the quality of the clothes seems really poor. I do like name brands like Patagonia, Marmot, etc. but when they are really worn out and/or extremely stained I won’t buy. I wish they expanded to a variety of brands and focused on quality.Saw the response and wanted to add more info. The last few times I’ve brought in lightly used, high quality clothes to consign I was turned away because they weren’t certain brands. I found that odd because I’ve brought in these brands to consign in the past and those items sold quickly. It just seems like you are more focused on the brand than the quality and condition of the item which is really unfortunate:

Ordered a tele boot on their online store, waited 9 days for it and they shipped the wrong boot, I contacted them about them shipping me the correct boot and they said I ordered the wrong one. I have never seen the boot they sent me. They wont pay for return shipping for their website error. To get the correct boot now I would additionally have to pay a shipping charge again and wait for it to be returned then shipped out again. (Additional 2 weeks maybe more?) Would not recommend doing online business with this company.

Great place to get used equipment! We wanted starter skis and boots, and Taylor was super friendly and knowledgeable. He told us what would work best for us and wasnt the least bit upset when we said wed like to sleep on it. No problem! He and the rest of the folks were happy to help us again the next day when we went back for everything. Highly recommended!

I would make this my first stop when buying gear and clothes. Start searching for your items early and with a couple of visits you might be able to get everything you need for half or even a third of the price compared to other places in town! The staff were great too.

Great little spot! My husband’s jacket finally gave out during an inopportune point in the season where nothing is on sale. We checked a few shops and were about to spend $280 on something before coming here and finding a practically new 686 fully insulated coat for $85. He looks great, and we don’t feel financially ravaged.

Dig this place, the used gear selection is on point, everything seemed fairly priced. They have a bunch of new gear like everyday camping and hiking items. Friendly staff and theres a shop dog!

This place is like a family-run Goodwill for Durangos outdoor community. The selection ranges from the most throwback of retro gear to last seasons shiny carbon-fiber stuff. I am constantly surprised by the fairness of prices here. The owners and staff are backed by their own extensive knowledge and kindness. Youll be happy you spent your money here.

This is the first place I go when Im selling a piece of outdoor gear. Usually sells quickly, and the staff is super friendly. Its a good place to head when youre looking to save some money on used gear too. All in all, a cool little spot for buying and selling used outdoor goods!

Durango Gear Exchange is a great little hidden gem of Durango! A fantastic place to find very nice gear on the cheap, or to offload some of your own stuff. Got a sweet little hardtail Kona for $100 a couple years ago!

The most dangerous store in town. Extreme deals on all the used outdoor gear that Durangoans love to own but often fail to use. An almost guaranteed sell of your unused equipment, a sure bet that youll find something great, and a fair consignment policy.

The fact is, when you live in Durango you are going to spend a lot on outdoor gear. Places like this go a long way to help me and my fellow budget conscious enthusiasts to get out the door. They had a sweet deal on a bike and Taylor and the rest of the staff let me take it to a nearby shop to look it over and deducted the repair cost from the listed price! Trust me, stop here first before you go anywhere else.

I came here and found something I never thought I would be able to afford. When I bought it the next day I couldnt take it with me at first, they were understanding and put it behind the counter until I came back. So happy right now!

Good selection of used gear for usually good prices. Unfortunately they collect relatively high consignment fee percentages. When. Selling your gear, the shop takes 50% for items under $300, 40% in the $300-600 range, and 30% on items over $600
