I typically do not leave reviews on places unless it is something positive, however, the lack of customer service and outright rudeness of the woman who works there really left a bad taste. I will never step foot in this establishment again, and certainly wouldnt recommend it to anyone else.

Always friendly, clean and I always leave with something new to try. Top of the line art supplies and theyve always done a beautiful job with custom framing. Love this business!

Nice store. Little bit of everything. The young lady at the counter was very nice and very helpful. We were looking for specialty papers and they didnt have them, but she offered many suggestions. Great conversation. Very sweet to my mother.

This place is awesome! The staff was super friendly and helpful and prices were totally fair. We needed help with a nice frame and they were knowledgeable and had a cool selection.

Very disappointing to see such a nice little store get ruined but a new extremely rude employee.I came here for years and spent thousands of dollars here and knew the old staff by name.However when I went in today (10/15/20 at 12: 45pm) to get my normal box and a half of $65 clay I wasnt told, I was yelled at by a new employee that I had never seen before, that I was not to open the boxes. Clay comes in a 50lb box and is divided and sold in 25lb slabs in bags.Why it was an issue I was opening a box when they charge per piece in a box that holds two is beyond me.However, it is the manor in which this female employee told me not to open boxes that caused me to write this review. I was insulted, humiliated and angered. This was simply a display of power on the part of the shop keep and her chance to belittle me in front of friends she was gabbing with in the front of the store. I had my daughter with me and felt very taken back and ashamed to be attacked for doing something I had been allowed to do by all the other employees at this store countless times before.This employee didnt just tell me, she told me off and continued to go on and on about how I should have gotten her when she never made herself available. When I apologized she ignored me and continued to bite my head off, eventually causing my daughter to cry but this did not stop the shop keeper from telling me off.I know people have bad days but to attack a father taking his daughter to an art store and continue to harass him simply for separating a box of clay is ridicules and this woman should not have a job anywhere, especially catering to peaceful artists just trying to get their art supplys and not be harassed.I dont know what possessed this awful woman to attack me for simply doing HER job for her but I left without buying my clay and and my daughter confused and sobbing thinking I did something terrible. I will not ever be returning to Art Supply House & Custom Framing.I strongly urge management to look into the employee who was working 10/15/20 at 12:45 in the afternoon.I strongly urge artistists and anyone looking for art supplys or framing needs to look elsewhere unless Art Supply House & Custom Framing comes up with a really good excuse and response to my encounter.

This is my favorite place to shop in Durango! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

I often have to find certain types of art supplies within Durango, and while basic office supplies could do the job, Art Supply House offers more. I have not used their framing services (yet) but I wholeheartedly recommend the selection of art supplies. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about the stock. I really like the new inclusion of the desk with art supplies and paper that lets you try the merchandise before purchasing.

Im really glad to have this shop in town! Im a local jewelry maker who loves to try new things. Ive received some ideas from staff using pigments, inks, etc, in my bead making and resin molded bracelets. I hope I show up on the day that my name is outside on the % off sign out front. :-)

Small art store now with a limited selection. I could never have it because it is an art supplies store after all. Theres always something for a creative to play with.

If you value your art I recommend going elsewhere. They dont follow instructions, try to cover up their mistakes, want to sell you more stuff to fix their screw up, charge you for the mess, all without an apology. Im sick from my experience. In response to the owners reply to my review:I believe you have missed your calling, youd make a great politician with your ease of stretching the truth and failing to check the facts...to accuse me of walking out without paying was the last straw, check your records, my account was paid in full previous to the last visit I paid your store to retrieve my art--- the piece your team so tragically screwed up by covering up the signature line with no way to recover - I stand by my review.

Excellent service and quality products, at reasonable prices. If youre just a beginner and want to get into art, this is the place to go. They will treat you right!

Awesome store - the selection may be small, but its all quality. If theres anything you need that they dont carry, theyre amazingly nice with special orders. And if youre lucky enough to be there when the owners in, dont be surprised to find him right there with a smile, easy friendly conversation, and a general way of making you feel like youre a valuable person in his store ... even when youre broke and have come in for that one prismacolor stick youve been dying to replace.

Such a wonderful place, I always feel welcome and they are so helpful. Great little gem to have as an artist in a small town where you have to order nearly everything online, or drive out of town to find something you are looking for.
