All hail the greatest snickerdoodle in the Southwest! Less than a month ago I had no idea paninis could be found in Durant & had resigned to occasionally going stopping by Panera in Sherman when I could. Thank goodness a friend pointed this place out to me. I am not a coffee drinker so I just order sammiches & lemonade. Though I must say if you stop by here & not order the brown sugar snickerdoodle, youre doing yourself a disservice. The paninis are good; Tillamook cheddar is on the menu, $1.99 soup Monday special (with purchase of a sammich) is worth a visit. The cafe is clean, service friendly & fast. I am a new lifelong customer!

Absolutely love this place! By far the best espresso in town. Employees always deliver excellent service. The food items are stellar. The atmosphere is lovely. Opera house is my favorite place to sit and do homework. 10/10 recommend!

This fits both the aesthetic and functionality of a classic coffee shop. Doing business in a historic building downtown isnt always easy, but they pull it off brilliantly. Of course, the coffee itself is fantastic!

Been everywhere in town trying to get espresso that tasted like espresso.. finally found it. Coffee here is great and the girls behind the counter were very friendly. Definitely coming back

Another day to get out and ride the bike, I had no idea this town had several coffee shops. This had a 5 star rating so of course I had to check it out. I was pleasantly pleased with the staffs friendliness, the cleanliness and the overall atmosphere of this coffee shop. The prices are average, the coffee was awesome !!! I also had the coffee cake which was a little dry, but I ate it anyway. Nothing the coffee couldn’t wash down. There are no half stars because of the pastry so I gave it 5 to be fair.

I came here after my race Saturday with my wife and I would have gave it 5 stars had it not been for the poor attitude the chunky dude with glasses had. He was impersonable and just seemed like he didnt want my wife or myself in there. The other two ladies working their were cool but it only takes one to ruin an experience. Both of our drinks were really good but I doubt Ill go back.

It is nice! I attended a baby shower here. They were not open at time. But the location is nice on the inside. Love the openness, and the atmosphere.

Love, love, love this coffee shop. They have a cute little kids corner where parents can sit with their kiddos. The coffee is always good. Their lunch foods are also super on point. I enjoy coming here. The staff is always very polite and conversational. They also offer a rewards program for regular customers.

I use to love this place and told everyone about it ever since they opened. In my opinion the best coffee place in town. Other places focus on flavorings and syrups to mask the flavor of their coffee but Opera House focuses strictly on their coffee, though sadly I had to stop going because of their lack of masks. It’s honestly sad to see a local business pretend like we’re not in a global pandemic when many customers (me included) suffer from health conditions.

I always love coming here in the morning to have coffee and study, but we decided to come in for lunch today and it was definitely a good idea. The pesto margherita flat bread pizza is amazing. The flat bread is verrrrry flat and crispy. Plus, of course, pumpkin butternut spice latte. ❤️

Great atmosphere, service, and amazing coffee. I go here every week for my counseling session and the workers are always really sweet and attentive. They take the time to learn the orders of the regulars which makes it feel that much more welcoming. Thank you Opera House Coffee for every grand experience.

Ordered two mochas and they were fantastic. Staff was really nice and helpful. The vibe is really cool, definitely has a vintage vibe with lots of open space. Look forward to stopping by again in the future.

Amazing and big coffee shop. This place is historically beautiful. The Americano was alright and the croissant was alright. But the cinnamon cake.....uh. I felt like I was doing the cinnamon challenge instead of eating food. Yall need to cool it on the amount of cinnamon you dust on top its too much that its crazy.

I love opera house! I don’t even live in Durant but every time I’m down there, I make sure to visit! They have amazing staff and some killer coffee. Be sure to give them a try!

The service is excellent, and everyone is so nice, unlike the people at Starbucks.The employees even make it a point to remember my name and order, even though that could be because of how often I get coffee there😆The food is really good there too, also if you like coffee try ordering The Jack.So, if you looking for a great place to enjoy a tasty drink, use free WiFi, or just hang out, I STRONGLY recommend Opera House!!

Best Coffee House in town! Love the pour overs, Mexican Mocha, and Mexican Chile Lemonade. For breakfast try the Jalapeño Bacon Cheddar Scones. For a cold drink, try the passion fruit iced tea or a craft soda.Atmosphere is great for studying, working remotely, or just gathering with friends. Very friendly staff.

This is a large and very cool establishment in downtown Durant. The staff was friendly, the coffee was excellent, and the design and decor inside is super cool. The coffee is a good price and a good quality. I hope to stop by again when I am back in town.

The chocolate chip cookies are just phenomenal. I stop by often just to get some. Service is very quick and the people are really nice. But again those cookies are fantastic and I can never get enough of them.

Cool atmosphere though a little loud when it gets really full. Nice combination of hard chairs and tables vs. couches and plush chairs. Vintage but trendy decor.Bathrooms are clean and well supplied. Nice kids area in the back.Staff Ive interacted with on my visits have all been polite and respectful. Drinks are yummy, Ive tried a few different ones. They have some unique syrup flavors like cardamom alongside the standards like vanilla. I enjoy a vanilla rooibus tea latte there when I need something caffeine free, or a nice espresso drink when I can.The baked goods are out of this world!They also have some adult beverages and a tasty-looking lunch menu that Ive not yet tried. Try it out for lunch, personal or business meeting, or just to sit and enjoy on your own!!

Today I went here for lunch. Usually the place would get 4 stars from me, but not this trip. The price is always high, but today it was ridiculous. I ordered a coffee, an Alto sandwich, and a chocolate chip cookie, and the price was over $18, and that was with a free coffee coupon. Asked the cashier if he added my coupon, to which he replied yes, but I cant for the life of me figure out how we got to $18 price tag.Food was good overall, which is why I gave it 2 stars.

A nice surprise to find good coffee in this town. I got a mocha with almond milk and it was just the right side of bitter that you get on a decent mocha.Everything that I saw was clean including the bathroom which can be dicey in coffee shops. If I come back to Durant Ill stop by again. The lady at the counter could have been more animated, but maybe she was working a double or it was an off day.

Excellent atmosphere! I had a double shot espresso which was smooth and balanced. Of note, they served 4 oz of espresso instead of the typical 2 oz as there was some confusion on the size of a double shot. My wife had an iced vanilla breve latte which was delicious! The bakery selection was fantastic, everything from sweet to savory. I even spotted a can of coop F5 IPA in the cooler. Overall, this coffee shop is a fantastic addition to the city of Durant, I will be stopping by here next time that I’m in town!

Great coffee, great atmosphere, great people. They are always bringing in new flavors, new food, new baked goods with different seasons and such. They are very selective on their coffee and beer and wine selections. Great pre- or post- date with a spouse or a quiet hangout spot to study or just relax. Best coffee shop in town hands down as the owners make sure their staff is very uniform in making goods.

Come here if you like strong tasting coffee. The pastry that I bought from here wasnt that great though. The atmosphere is awesome though!

Great coffee and a great atmosphere! They have a nice little area for kids to play which Ive not seen in a coffee shop before, but, I think is brilliant. Its awesome to see such a charming old building be brought back to life. You have to see it if you are visiting Durant.

One of my favorite places in town to go, definitely my favorite coffee shop in town. Owners are very nice, always working right along side their employees. Prices are very good, especially for the great quality coffee. Baked goods and sandwiches are wonderful as well!

Clean, friendly and amazing atmosphere. You just want to set, talk and drink coffee. Love the mugs they use just like ones you would use at your own home.

Iced coffee: awesome; iced mocha: beyond awesome. It’s in an historic building (a former opera house, but you’ll need the password to get upstairs;). It’s one of the coolest spaces I’ve seen for a coffee shop. The owner is really hospitable, told us about the town, was overall super helpful. This will be our go-to when driving through Durant.

The food here is awesome and I highly recommend The Alto panini, but some of their items are overpriced. We ordered a piece of bread and a side of avocado for our 8 month old, and were charged $5 for it, which seems a little high. Other than that, we love this place! Their cookies are divine, and we will certainly be repeat customers, well just bring something from home for the baby.

The opera house is a great place to go for signature crafted coffee drinks. The bakery items are fabulous! They even have gluten free options, which is a plus for my family.

I go here all the time and it’s one of my favorite places in Durant. It’s a chill atmosphere with wonderful food, the best chai lattes I’ve ever had (I’ve had lots) and they have very nice service.

This is the coolest place to hang out in all of Durant. Good coffee, chill vibes, awesome artwork. What more could you ask for?

Definitely my favorite coffee shop in town. Opera House has friendly employees, a great atmosphere, great coffee, and really good sandwiches and pastries. They have this sandwich called The Alto and it is so darn good. I typically get a mocha or a latte and neither dissapoint. They also have really good snickerdoodle cookies. The owners are very kind. Plus they have wifi and the location is so big that you enough space without feeling like everyone can hear your conversations.

This a really nice place to just sit down and order a cup of joe. The atmosphere is nice, the menu is amazing and I love that there’s an option to sit and look out the huge windows while having a cup of coffee.

What an unexpected delight on the road to Dallas! Its modern, has a lot of space to relax, and offers a solid cup of drip coffee.

The staff is stellar and its the best coffee shop in town. The menu is small but mighty. The large windows make it well lit, there are plenty of outlets on the walls, and theres an abundance of seating. The WiFi is fairly decent (Keep in mind that in Durant, fairly decent WiFi is all youre getting). The owners are nice and its a kid-friendly establishment.Other neat things: They feature a local artist on one wall, they serve a decent lunch, its open until nine, its located in historic downtown, and the bathroom walls are painted a dark green color. (While knowing the bathroom paint is not ultimately useful information in your quest for a latte, its a very pretty green and I feel like someone has to give it credit where its due.)
