I ordered a Mother’s Day feast for four this past weekend after seeing Ottolenghi on Saturday Kitchen and we were not disappointed. It came with a lovely bottle of Prosecco and mixed tumeric nuts and olives which was a lovely aperitif. For the main was a black garlic roasted chicken with three salad sides which was so tasty and fresh, completed with an apple and rhubarb crumble all was heated up in 30 minutes and it was truly delightful. I hope you continue with the at home kits when the lockdown is over. It was a real treat! Loved it!!

Yes, it was delicious but it was more than that. The interior was fun right off the bat - pastries and salad items on display in front, a single round white table in the back for 6 or so.Order one main dish (hot or cold) and two salads. A riot of differing ingredients that somehow all worked wonderfully together. It was like being invited to a friend’s country home who also happened to be a world-class chef.

Everything I had was so delicious, well prepared, and had so much intentional flavor. Ottolenghi does it again. The Shakshuka was rich and packed with spice and complexity. The baked treats are vast and too many to just pick one, but if the three I had they were flawless. The table for 10 people in the back is cozy, first come first serve and is usually packed. No toilet so keep that in mind if you sit for a couple cups of coffee. The atmosphere and staff are warm and welcoming. It is a great stop and go or if you are lucky and can get a seat grab it for a truly wonderful experience.

The food was good - some dishes were better than others of course, but I love the complexity and interesting combination of flavors.Ive no idea why anyone would complain of small portions. My friend and I each ordered a main with 2-3 salads. Each portion was sufficient to generous. We also each ordered a dessert and coffee. Each dessert was fantastic. Really lovely crumb and great flavors for my cake. The seating was limited but we managed a seat inaide at the community table. The people we sat beside were lovely. We had wonderful conversation. The service was friendly and attentive. When I recognized the name of a chef, our server had him come out to meet us. It was an embarrassing fangirl moment, but I very much appreciated the thoughtfulness and time dedicated to us. We had a great meal and a truly memorable experience; it was a highlight of my trip to London.

Ottolenghi is a trendy delicatessen located on Motcomb Street in Knightsbridge that serves Mediterranean cuisine.Yotam Ottolenghi, the author of 3 bestselling cookbooks has 3 other delis in London as well as a restaurant. As I arrived, the place was very busy. With just one shared table at the back full of people having lunch I decided to have a take away salad box. With an array of beautiful salads and cakes in front of me, it was a real feast for the eyes. I opted for the Roasted Aubergine with Saffron Yoghurt, Walnuts, Pomegranate and Basil as well as the Green Beans with Hazelnuts, Orange and Taragon. The salads were well flavoured, tasty and of good quality for a salad on the go.They also had a selection of mains to choose from including beef, salmon, tuna, turkey and chicken.I felt that this place has been way over hyped. The salads are very decent but not mouth watering. However, staff are professional and very efficient. Take away salads are priced by weight at 100g. Prices are on the high side. You could go home feeling hungry.

Im bummed that I hadnt heard about Ottolenghi until now. My friends who were visiting from the US and avid fans of Yotam Ottolenghi insisted on coming here for dinner even though the only table we could reserve for 4 people on a weekend night was at 9:30PM.Upon entering the restaurant, I saw a huge display of over-the-counter dishes including some cold meats, vegetarian plates and an extensive and beautifully displayed selection of desserts. I also noticed that the restaurant was still completely packed at this time of the night and more people were coming in for their late night reservations.Shortly after we sat down, we were introduced to the menu by a very helpful and friendly staff and some complimentary bread. The menu changes from time to time and features no more than 20 items that come in tapas sized portions, half are served from the counter (aka cold plates), while hot dishes are made to serve from the kitchen. It was recommended that each person order 2-3 items. The highlight of the night were the cold dishes we shared. In particular, the roasted aubergine with zhoug, amba, tahini, and pita croutons were the best Ive ever tasted. The flavors were surprising, exotic and inventive. This was true for all of his other dishes. The mozzarella di bufala paired with peaches and grapefruit is also a must-try. A spoonful of the creamy cheese and grilled peaches had a well-balanced and unique medley of flavors. For the hot dishes, the pork belly is a must. It was very well seasoned and the crackling pork skin was very crispy. The mango and pickled ginger that came with it helped to provide a balanced palette of flavors and cut the fattiness of the pork belly. We also got the goat which was delicious and not gamey at all. The medley of mushrooms was incredibly flavorful and exotic. I recommend getting more bread to dip in the mushroom sauce!I was pretty full after the hot dishes but we knew we couldnt skip dessert. After going up to the display and inquiring about every dessert they had, we settled on an apple and raisin slice, lemon and poppy cheesecake and a plum meringue. My favorite was the apple and raisin slice. Its sweet, delicate and flavorful. I recommend adding the complimentary vanilla custard to this!Overall, Ottolenghis dishes were yummy, inventive and exceeded my expectations. Its definitely a must-try in London and Ill be looking into NOPI (Ottolenghis higher end restaurant) after this!

Honestly I love Ottolenghi. I’ve been going to the Islington one since 2005 and more recently the Spitalfields one near where I live since it opened in 2015. How can this be part of the brand.

Im a big fan of Ottolenghis recipes and was exciting to try something from this spot on my visit to London. I have to say that I was underwhelming by everything I had. Some of the pastries were overly dry, and the warm, savory lunch I ordered was nothing remarkable. Maybe the place was just a victim of my high expectations—everything was good enough and totally serviceable for a meal if you find yourself nearby—but I wouldnt go out of my way for anything here, at least from this visit.

We arrived at 1430 today and were happy to be back at this fantastic place. Whenever I’m London we try it. First time at Belgravia. We were seated and were alone at the place. Nobody came to serve us so we fetched a menu by ourselves. After 10 minutes looking at 4 people busy with themselves and not paying attention to us we just walked away. We were the only costumers but nobody asked nothing. Perhaps they were tired after a rush hour? Very unfriendly. Disappointed.

Food is amazing but you need to do something about the seating. Just a couple of small tables isnt too much to ask is it. There is no space here to eat at all.We enjoyed the food and the staff were helpful. You need to work a bit on your coffee. Coming from Australia your coffee is about the standard of a coffee cart. Just buy good beans, not expensive, just good. I found a few places in the UK that have got it right now.We visited Islington as well and had a much better experience there although the coffee was also poor.

It was my bucket list to go there and sample food that I’ve been hearing about and cooking from their books. Everything was tasty and delicious and fresh but this store should be only open for carry out/take out since they don’t have toilet!!! And it would make customers experience simple as well as employees. We spent well over $200 and had to sit down And eat by the fake park because even though the seating was available they couldn’t transfer our food to plates. On top of that we had to walk down to another place for a bathroom use. Please help your stuff for unfortunate shortages, they were lovely and so friendly.

Literally walked out and had to leave my comments..... Firstly the staff are awful at customer service. Youre charging top dollar for a piece of cake, which people come from far to eat. The least you can do is make eye contact and greet. Too many staff hanging around. Two were deep in private conversations with friends / customers in front of the displays of food. And its a very small space to navigate so this was very thoughtless. Timeline of our experience, entered, two staff behind counter didnt greet or ask what we wanted. Everything was labeled except one cake so I asked what it was and got a weird short reply like I was inconveniencing the girl. Then I ordered what I wanted to eat in, my son and husband were sitting down so it was obvious we wanted to eat there. Went to pay but told I could at the end. Before I sat down I asked if they had any hot food, my exact words, (because I couldnt see a menu in an obvious location). Was told theres salads from 11am. all good so I went to take my seat. Upon sitting down, the two customers next to me receive their scrambled eggs, hot food. So I then ask if they have hot food to order and given a short reply that the menu is on the table, at the back of the restaurant. Fine. Order a meal for my husband and then asked them to change my original order to one less scroll as now were having a hot meal. THEN after waiting approx 15 minutes for that hot meal, I enquire where the cakes and scroll was. The girl then said she thought I wanted takeaway, then says the scrolls are sold out. WHAT!!! If u expected me to takeaway why havent u packed it up. There were 4 when I ordered. SO annoyed and offered no compensation or even a care. The staff are in their own little world. Girls u serve expensive cake. Maybe be nice to your customers or work back of house. Yotam I had high expectations of your cafe, and as a big fan of your books this has left an awful taste in my mouth :(
