Went in for a guitar string replacement and was amazed by Anthony. He gave me a lesson in guitar/bass maintenance while doing the job, all in under 15 min! I definitely recommend going in and speaking with him if you need repairs…and tips!Overall a great shop with good variety and very helpful staff!

There are some really good offers with used and open box products.. hassle free returns and nicely placed in rt 18. Retail in general is getting harder to compete with all the internet shopping. This location is no exception. With stocking issues from the pandemic and staffing issues. It makes it hard to come here. I came to grab just vic firth stick holder and the cashier salesman was a little more immersed in playing guitar through an amp more than making the sale. There was also no one in the drum department at all. Sad day in deed. Less inclined to shop here when in a rush to get stuff when its usually when I come here. Such a shame could be so much better.

So I went in and milled around the drum area, looking for pedals, (no one was there in the drum dept.) I asked a guy could I get some help, he announced over the intercom, customer service in drums, I waited 15 minutes no one came, I leftWhy did I leave and not ask again how long it would be? It really looked like no one was interested in helping .. even the guy I originally asked didnt seem to care, he saw I was waiting ... patientlyThe unfortunate part was I really wanted these pedals, and I had a few questions, about the pedals and my account information. Ill still go to the one in Brooklyn

Great selection, not very many of the acoustic traveler style guitars.

I called about getting rid of and selling of my Alesis DM5 Pro Kit today and was told the “ drum guy “ leaves at 6pm and to come on down and bring what I have in beforehand so they can take a look at it and give me and offer. When I arrived I was halted before even being able to speak on behalf of my drum set and was told that they don’t have room for it and to next time I call talk to the right person. He had no idea of me calling beforehand and told me to get out and go to another shop. I drove almost an hour just to get rudely sent out In less than 2 minutes. I will not be recommending this shop as well as the “ drum guy “ to anyone I know. I’ve sold many instruments before and never have I encountered a situation like this.

Ive been going to this guitar center since it opened. Its changed a lot over the years but always had plenty of guitars to check out. My disappointment with it these days (and this send to be all the GC in the area) is they no longer have flexibility on pricing. I had to walk away from a used guitar that needed a setup badly at the ocean GC a few weeks back, and last night the east Brunswick one wouldnt budge on the price of a Friedman amp head. So again I walked away. I can find the same head used for several hundred less.

Well my strings were old and one broke so I thought to go to one of my favorite places guitar center which Ive been going through over a decade so I called up and to see if any guitar tech would help me out too get some new strings and get it fixed so I had the opportunity to speak with Anthony very professional kind and just mentioned to come and see him first which I did I showed him my guitar I told him my needs and I just knew this guy knew what exactly I was looking for I even asked for his recommendations he analyzed the guitar looked at it and said Ill take care of it so I got a bunch of strings from his feedback. I got to meet Hes the guy to go to if you have any issues with your guitar no question ask very kind spoke about music as musicians do I definitely would go back and see him again I came home play the guitar and it sounds like brand new Anthony thanks again for the help Youre awesome!!!!

I was in the store today 2/13/21 to check out some speakers I saw on sale for Presidents’ Day. I was greeted by Brett who asked if I needed anything and said hi to my friend Rhys (Reese) who has been traveling with me when I got shopping. With all the craziness of COVID taking my furry friend with me who sits on my shoulder the whole time and is the most friendly kitty. After she got her pets we checked out some used gear and headed to Pro Audio. I was greeted by Daniel who helped me select the best speakers in my price range and options I was looking for. Even while running around helping multiple customers at the same time he never made me feel I was waiting as he kept checking on me and letting me know he would have them shortly from the back. After I paid Daniel help me load up my car. Amazing customer service as always and all the employees always make me feel welcome.The speakers are amazing by the way!!! Just what I needed in the basement. And if you have Instagram give her a follow @shoulderkitty

This is one of my favorite Guitar Centers in the NJ area. The layout is ideal with an open feel in the electric with a nice transition from guitars to bass. The acoustic room is my favorite I’ve ever been in because everything is right there. A CLASSIC STORE DONE RIGHT!!!

Went here to pick up a used guitar and some equipment, and had a great experience. The facility and selection were better than the one in Union that I visited, so I drove further to come here and it was worth it. Good new and used stock, services, and atmosphere.

This store has a pretty good keyboard inventory compared to other locations in the area.

Nice store, but the service was very slow, but what do you expect when you have a hard time getting workers !

I thought there would be someone to help you pick out something but there wasnt. Made it kind of hard to pick out my first guitar.

I ordered a takamine guitar from Guitar Center on line. When I received the guitar and inspected it I noticed there were some small splash marks. I used a microfiber cloth to try to get marks out but the marks remained.So I took the guitar back to the nearest Guitar Center which is located in New Brunswick N.J.When I entered the store I saw Nick who looked the guitar over and agreed with me that it was defective.Dave the store Manager was informed by Nick and Dave said he would get me the same guitar from the Manhattan store which had four in stock.Dave arranged the transfer. So today I picked up the guitar and was 100% Satisfied.I want to thank Nick and Dave the Store Manager for being customer friendly and truly professional.I felt that they had my interest in mind.Dave Store manager and Nick again THANK YOU!!!!!!.

Great collection but pricy

My son 7 broke a guitar string. Brought it over to Guitar Center in East Brunswick today. Both the cashier and the technician took the time to allow him to tell his story about how the sting broke. Technician whose name I can not recall was great with my son and fixed the single string for us immediately. Would go back to this location in the future for repairs and purchases.

I only posted this review after multiple contacts with your facility. Clearly you are incapable of holding appointments and are very uncoordinated.

Matt was very helpful! I was unsure which piano keyboard to get so he showed me around and told me about the differences.

I placed an order today about 3pm, waited to be emailed or texted to pick up my order. By 6 pm I called the store only to be told they don’t have it in stock and has to be ordered from their warehouse. To my surprise they ordered it without telling me, and said that it was in motion already. Ironically this all happened within three hours and the item won’t be available till the 24th. At this point I asked to cancel my order and get my refund and they told they couldn’t cancel until the item is received in their store. It is amazing that all of this happened so fast( 3 hours) and it takes 9 days to deliver. In case you were wondering what I ordered it is 3 micro SD cards. I should mention that I called corporate and they too will not cancel my order. This company needs to look closely at their policies to see if they are customer friendly, and they should train their people better.

I drove 35 minutes for a new microphone the website showed in stock. It was not, except for open boxes. Ended buying another models open box, which I found later at home, had signs of wear and heavy use. Very disappointing. At least the store did a good job in terms of Covid-19 preparedness and the guys at the counter were very nice.

This place can get busy so be mindful while you shop. You might have to wait for someone to get free but one you get a staff to help you they are certainly efficient and knowledgeable about their sections. Even willing to go the extra mile to make sure you get everything you are looking for. Great experience and customer service. Rt 18 in NJ is my only store to go too.

My wife and I came here for the first time a few days ago to have her acoustic guitar restrung and I was surprised at the variety -- not just guitars but drums, keyboards and sound equipment of all kinds, plus books of music, accessories and even the odd piece of kitsch. Add to that the lessons they offer, and you can almost walk in with three or four complete novices and walk out a band.

KUDOS and Bravo to Robert for helping the love of my life Laura and I figure out how to use her ukulele tuner! Though he is a teacher and he was waiting for a student to arrive, he happily helped us and provided us with the knowledge and sage wisdom we needed! Youre the best Robert...stay going strong and keep fighting the good fight!

Well laid out and lit..separate sections for every instrument type. My salesperson Izzy was helpful/ honest answers for buying a piano. Great store evidence of the one visit!

Great people. Helped me find an Irig 2 device they had in the back instead of trying to sell me the models that were 4x the price. Not to mention my car died in the parking lot and they were nice enough to find an employee with jumper cables to come outside and help me. That’s customer service!

This place is amazing.All instruments are just phenomenal and available for sampling. The staff is very helpful, attentive, as well as knowledgeable.

All associates their including Brandon do not know anything about customer service they ignore customers and do not communicate. Brandon refuses to call me back as promised about an item 24 hrs past no call. So I call associate said he will be in by 12 try to reach him all day and Brandon was refusing to talk to me left my number and name for a call back about an item I was selling they had to email about. Brandon definitely needs a new job as so the other associate Phil and others. Worst service ever

Pretty good music store

Good Place to physicaly go and look at whats new. Good staff, ambiance is good. Overpriced items is why I recently thought hard about not going back, or very few times to get the cheap pics from that box. I went in for a capo... $21! I found well received and reviewed capos on Amazon $5-7, and they came with pics! I know retail is getting hard but man.

This place is basically like a new car dealership. There’s barely anybody working there and the people who are there are wheeling and dealing all day and if you want to check out it’s a 10 minute process where they try to upsell you anything that you could possibly want to buy.Now, that being said this place does have most popular things and they have a vast array of used gear that is very nice, sometimes it’s a little overpriced but I have seen decent deals here before.For the most part I get what I need here but if there is a specific item I require I’ll just order it online somewhere else...because it’s cheaper and has free shipping.

Someone gave me a $50 gift certificate for Christmas and I could hardly find anything in there to use it on! All guitars they had within reach were for beginners and were garbage and anything even remotely worthwhile whats at the top of the rack so that you had to have a Salesman assist you to touch it.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Initially when we were being set up for appointments it took the guy 20 minutes to figure out an available date and get us out. Upon being told the available times, we picked one that worked for us but were then told it was for guitar instead of piano. After we pointed out it had to be piano he gave us 2 different available times and neither of them worked for us. He told us to schedule it for that time and then call back to see what else would open up before the first lesson. We did no, nothing opened up.We were late to the first appointment because of our conflicting schedule, as pointed out in our first conversation, so I asked to reschedule for a different time. We were told we used our credit for that day.I just cancelled instead, they gave me a full refund including for the day we were charged for. If your going to refund the amount, why not just give us a rescheduled date?

I like buying from this Guitar Center. Jonathan just helped me pick out a sweet sounding and budget friendly Fender CD-60 lefty guitar. You lefties know the struggle in finding a decent lefty guitar. Nevertheless, Jonathan went over and beyond checking stock and such to make sure I walk out with a great sounding guitar. He succeeded! Kyle, Dan and the rest of the gang also rock!

My son took lessons for 3 years there, great quality teachers. The place has different rooms for different instruments. I was able to entertain my younger child while waiting. Everyone is very friendly too!

They do not cater to left-handed people at all.. every guitar that I wanted left-handed they couldnt get! A couple years ago they had a whole wall dedicated to left-handed guitars now they have none well 2 guitars out of thousands of right-handed ones
