Stopped by with a friend who asked me to accompany him to check out two homes. He was interested in them but the website was not up to date and there were contingencies already on the trailer homes Office isnt taking walk-ins because of the covid fears. Neighborhood seems quiet but our visit was in early February. So it was cold and i would expect anyone to be outside.

I live in the park. Inexpensive lot fee. The only thing I dont like is the cost of kerosene for heating. They pipe it into every mobile home, so they set the rate per gallon and mobile homes are not well insulated so the heating cost for the winter can be high. Thinking about electric heat and solar panels with a storage battery system.

My husband and I lived in Rivermead Pointe South when we came from Alaska in 2013 to be near family. My Dad and one of my sisters also lived in the park. My Husband passed away in 2016, and my Father in 2017. My other sister lives in my Dad’s place now. It is a family and elderly oriented park. I decided to stay, so I’d be near my family. It is located close to shopping and the freeway for traveling. There’s a school across the street, which also has a public use pool in the summer for East Hartford residents. The people I’ve met in the park are friendly, and you can always see someone walking their dog. The streets are flat, so it’s even easy for people that are handicapped, and need a cane, walker, or, scooter, to be able to get out and enjoy the outdoors. The folks in the office are friendly, and always willing to answer questions, if you need help. I own my own mobile home, so I pay monthly rent on the space, which I find to be very affordable. Each lot has its own meter system for the utilities, except for the electric, so it’s easy to keep track of what you owe. It all comes on one bill, and you never have to worry that you forgot to order oil or propane. You have the choice of what electric company to use. The streets are well plowed in the winter, and any problems with underground utilities or the grounds are taken care of by a wonderful maintenance crew. I will probably be here in the park for a very long time, and I would definitely recommend the park for anyone starting out to buy a place, or looking for a safe, friendly environment to live.
