Open 24hr I normally go at 1:am to avoid the rush. Stock is normally on Thursdays so you anticipate for freshest items, its normally clean no rowdy behavior, normally helpful staff, management seems to listen to food options you might want to see. I dont think this branch has delivery but they do have taxis at the door in case you need. Whats not to like.

This Shoprite Ive been visiting for years, and theres ALWAYS a very disgusting smell as you walk in !!! Omg!! The Seafood dept. Is located near the entrance, and I want to believe thats where the smell is coming from!! Is this even healthy?! Something needs to be done ASAP!

Everything was fine until check out time & the cashier appeared to have an attitude, she bagged the wet items with the dry items & proceeded to toss items. I helped with the bagging & was able to bag the items to prevent damaging. I just dont know anymore, we need more customer service training.

This place are a bunch of rip offs works here...i order online home delivery and they charge my debit card 2 times for the fee ...I call the 1800 number to complain and they didnt do any thing ...i went to the store the lady tawanda act like i was lying or something ...i show her my Card Statement and she act like i was lying then of course I SHOW HER MY EMAIL WITH THE DOUBLE CHARGE ...She act like she couldnt get into the computer. And of course she put the money on my ebt card not my debit card ..Be careful When you order from Shop Rite in East Orange Nj. They be Theifing your Money ..STILL DIDNT GET MY MONEY BACK ON MY DEBIT CARD

ShopRite is wonderful but damn they need more cashiers

This must be absolutely the worst ShopRite location I have visited.The customer service is nonexistent, the staff treat you like they are doing you a special favour by acknowledging you or your question.Really ShopRite needs to take a serious look at this store and implement serious training for the staff.

Ive been a loyal customer of Shoprite since summer of 1996. Ive been blessed to see da growth of your stores, employees, products, etc. Theres nothing negative I can say, my family & I Thank You for everything, we ❤ Shoprite.

This Shoprite has good prices and certain times you can be in and out, thru self check out.

Worse customer service ever experienced. Every time I call customer service the employees act like they you are bothering them by picking up the phone and hanging it back up without saying a word. When you finally get through to someone they put you on hold and never return. When the phone starts ringing again no one picks up. So instead I took a chance and drove out of my way for an item and it wasnt in stock. I was trying to avoid this if I could ever talk to someone...smh so I decided to just give up on the East Orange ShopRite location.... Im done with them.

I know the customer is always right but they act like they aint got no sense. Ive seen shoprite of east orange employees deal with foggy ignorance at its worst. The shoprite employees of east orange are efficient and fast and courteous. Professional too. There always bad apples that have to be weeded out. Its a big team at that location. It takes time to divise the right team. Ive seen civilians and employees go off at this location. But the base is strong. Keep it up. Everyone has to remember to love one another also.

It stays open 24 hours that is great when other stores are closed

Prices are much higher than Brookdale Shop Rite. Always too many people shopping all at once. Always have solicitors,asking if I need a taxi, fake charities, hustlers

The newer cashiers are much more pleasant and friendly this making a better shopping experience. When you do go and see a very good deal, be sure to snap a photo of the advertised sign with your cell phone (or my in my case, an Android Tablet) as I have gotten free milk two weeks in a row as the Dairy department didnt take the time to update the old prices (the posted sign is very high on the wall, ha ha) which I made them honor with proof of my photos.Update: It seems the Dairy department got scolded from my original review (or is getting lazy) as they now leave the Milk prices at the max (possibly to avoid changing it each week) and not updated to reflect the lower Milk of the Week prices so you now have to hunt for a flier or scan the milk in the aisle to verify the price before heading to the checkout. For that inconvenience, I am dropping the rating to four stars.I can finally get postage stamps here at the Courtesy Desk so I dont have to go to the West Orange store anymore. My next task is to see if it is offered to me between 11pm and 6am as that would be very helpful especially while filing income taxes.

Deli and self checkout sections were immensely helpful and patient with me performing at the highest level of service excellence and were accommodating to my frustrations.

I have shopped in this store intermittently for 30 years or more and the services have drastically gone down. They are not customers friendly the attitudes are ridiculous. Their Deli is the worst. Why is it this is the only shoprite that you cannot order what you want specifically? Certain things you can only order presliced. The variety is limited and they are unfriendly. Several times I have had to speak with a store manager to get appropriate service. I would love to be able to shop locally but I dont. I go to Brookdale, WO, Kearny or Newark and this location is less than 5 miles away. No one should be treated like this.

Very bad customer services. Rude employees. Bad Manager. Just gossiping not doing their job. A lot of machines to pay yourself but they shut it down when they want just to make you call them so they look more important. Employés arguing with costumers.

This place is okay but they need to keep the aisles clear theres boxes everywhere when theyre loading the shelves and watch out for the small pieces of cardboard on the floor that you dont slip and fall

Always clean, no snake line ..self check out was a so...so.. ..meaning if you take 3sec long to scan your next item, it called for assistant ...so you has to scan your items fast. But ... once we all get use to it . We all will be ok ....assistant was very nice to attend .explanation was very clear....who every assisted you.....things were all in the right place easy to find ... .

I like shoprite. Its not as big as Walmart, but really decent.

The cashiers are very pleasant, the rest of the staff dont help much but its a good place for grocery shopping at a affordable price.

Fresh vegetables and meat were good quality. Water needed to be restocked. Prices are higher than other stores.

I like that I can get hair care products there or a notebook if needed or nice pan to cook with. They have options as we would call it. It can be better if they know who they are hiring.

Since Victor have been the manager there you notice a big improvement with this location. Items are nice and organized, workers are more polite lol Victor himself is just an outstanding person. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to his location. The company should be honored to have someone like himself handle the task. Keep up the great work Victor/His Team.

This Shoprite has self-checkouts now. This has largely reduced the congestion at the store. It was like a human traffic jam before! I didnt have to take too much time getting what I wanted.

This place receives 1 star because there is NO negative star provided. This is the worst place one does not want to go for shopping simply because the customer service is catastrophically horrible. Most of them do not know how to talk to people nor how to serve. Another issue is that even if their tag is wrong and theres a lot of same items placed by that wrong tag, they would still have audacity to say customers move things around. And if you reason with them they will tell you that well the tag doesnt match, therefore they will not honor the price.

Been patronizing this store for 30 years, things have changed for the worse. I am so disappointed and now a Kearny customer. Seafood and deli departments have prepackaged crablegs, cold cuts etc... today I was told I had to place my deli order on a screen in front the counter, even though noone was there, and the ladies were having casual conversation, I did, then continued to wait for my order. One of the ladies behind the counter noticed I was still standing there and said ..what? I informed her I was waiting for my order. She said when did it tell you to come back? I said Im sorry I didnt see a Time. She said well you didnt pay attention. She then went over to a screen on the wall repeated the last four digits of my phone number and said yes somebody is before you go shop and come back. You werent the first one here somebody else has an order in there too and when its your time somebody will call you. All said in an oh well type of tone... I told the lady behind the counter that this was absolutely ridiculous that this was the only ShopRite operated this way with a low variety of things as well as pre-packaged things and deli counter workers are ridiculous with their attitudes every other ShopRite is much better I only came for bacon... I left the bacon! Good bye E O Shoprite!

My experience at The ShopRite of East Orange is decent the store is clean and has a great selection there are employees everywhere if you need help they have lots of meat produce dairy and so much more the store is not that busy the lines are not that long and the self checkout is always quick my only problem is the store is kinda dark and smells weird

Very organized as they introduce the self service lanes. The associates are very good they know when you are in trouble. But if they think that it will be ok when you serve your self as cost saving. Not quite. Go to Home Depot, Walmart etc. You will always find the associates helping customers. Am from the old school trust me I will always call for help . Am not going to stand there looking for the scanner usually tossed almost covered by the empty bags by some protester like me. Whats wrong with the way it used to be. They always try to teach an old dog some new tricks . No not me .You talk to the cashier, ask questions get some smiles that sometimes can make your day. Old lady behind me had a cart half full of potatoes, loose plantains, a small flower in a little earth pot and others under a bunch of lettuce. I didnt have enough time to watch some fun. Time during Pandemic is the essence. The cashiers will get the shoppers out faster. In my opinion.

Thank you east orange shop rite for still being open 24hours. I had to get somethings there last night at almost 2pm for my middle son and was able to get everything I needed. Everyone needs to remember that the world doesnt stop over night and sometimes we need to get something a 2am and cant wait till 8or 9am for a store to open.

Store was clean and organized. Lines were socially distanced and wait times for registers were decent. More employees were visible and assisting patrons than usual.

OMG, I stop going there for years. I was on my way home from work and all I needed was some cucumbers and didnt want to drive all the way to Hillside for some. Rude customers still. They do not have to worry about me again.

No wipes for shopping carts or around the store. Social distance did not exist, confused about lines was told there were no lines by worker.

Do not go on Sundays unless you go early in the morning when I say busy very busy

The overnight staff is very friendly and helpful. Store is empty during the overnight hours and they are available to help with any questions about inventory. The cashiers are very helpful with informing of any specials pertaining to your items.

I will speak of my experience with the Cashier at number 9.He had a mask on, but not covering his nose.The mask even looked worn- out.I told him that he did have his mask over his nose.He applied the mask over his nose and it fell below his nose again. He seemed to have an attitude.He was almost finished ringing up my groceries when he started to take to some else- I guess a coworker.He was plain rude by talking to this person, tried to ignore me, and didnt even say thank you. He was just plain disrespectful.The Security Officer was very mannerly- so him telling me to have a good day off setted the negative experience with this cashier.Shoprite managers should educate their workers on the importance of wearing a mask and not to put others at risk of getting Covid.Friday, the Shoprite line was very short compared to Monday-it was very longI will try to avoid this Shoprite.This young man doesnt understand the importance of wearing a mask.

Not the best ShopRite. Theyre good if you need to get a few items. The ShopRite in Newark believe it or not is much better. Or the ShopRites in West Orange or Livingston.

It’s has huge variety and great prices most of the times.However many times, items on the shelf don’t have a price ticket or it’s not accurate or the price is different when paying on till.Team members restocking need to be very focus on this.I was really disappointed few times that prices on display didn’t match the price I was paying at register.Also, Customer service needs to improve as well.The girl behind the register needs to be more “Customer friendly” at the end of the day she is the “image” of the store and represent the store/brand everyone working there.I didn’t feel treated as a valued customer a couple of times I had to deal with Customer service.On a positive note, the young guys and girls working on registers are super very friendly.Changed from 3 stars to 2!!It’s so annoying every single time I shop here at least 2 items don’t match the sale price on display.Every time I have to check the prices when I pay because they over charge.Come on, get on it

Customer service is amazing, but the environment is a bit rough especially growing up in a similar setting. Some employees vary could get a stink eye or a smile depends on who you approach. Overall the place needs work in more than one area, but being an former employee, Im glad to have made the trip to be able to make my weekly run, bagging employees are the best especially this one particular young man who took the time to help me without hesitation.
