Tried so many times to give this place a second chance, now the count is like 6 chances, and every time I get burned. Sole reason why I keep going is because there is no bagel place near me, otherwise I would have to drive to Hoboken for a decent bagel. This place is by far the WORST place I have ever ordered food. The cashier needs to check his ego at the door and practice proper client interfacing skills, dude is totally obnoxious and cocky. To boot, the bagel was hard on the outside and hard on the inside, to put it bluntly, it totally sucked. Also, the plain cream cheese has a plastic taste to it, most vexing indeed. They also rearranged the store, with an attempt to assembly line everything, the layout is as inefficient as it gets and Ford is rolling in his grave. Its a busted stream-lined flow, its kind of humorous. If I could give this place a negative score I would. Notice how the owner only responded to one post. Owner clearly can care less.
Its surprisingly difficult to not only find a solid bagel place in the area but one that also offers all of the classic fixings. Mr. Bagelsworth is your answer! I needed a lox and spreads platter for a gathering so I reached out via their website and heard back right away. Scott made the entire ordering process seamless and the platter turned out even nicer than I expected. My guests raved about how DELICIOUS everything was. The bagels are big and fluffy. Cant say enough nice things about this place!
Its so hard to find a decent bagel place in the northern Hudson County area, thankfully Mr. Bagelsworth does not disappoint. This deli style bagel joint has a the charisma, charm, and appeal that one should expect. The bagels are fresh and delicious with a good variety to choose from. My personal favs are egg, pumpernickel, salt, and everything bagels. Ill take egg and swiss with the hash browns inside and some salt, pepper, ketchup—and I am set. Prices are great here too; its uncommon to find a breakfast for two under $13 these days.Cant vouch for the self-serve coffee since I never tried it here. But there are chips on the side and deli drinks in the fridge (see pictures below). There is some indoor seating and several outdoor chairs and table (with an awning to protect you from the rain), but they can go pretty fast. So if you come in during peak hours, be prepared to take it to go.
The good... tasty food at reasonable prices... great breakfast and lunch menu including a salad bar... excellent bagel selection... homemade empanadas...The bad... youll wait... a very.... long....... time....... for your food... complaints get you nowhere... guy just says we make everything fresh... they say they open at 530, but they just took the first order at 630 on a Sunday morning... also, they put all their food away hours before they close...Bottom line, good food is worth the wait....
This place was a lot better when it was owned by the Cubans. It progressively gets worse with every other owner. I asks for 2 hashbrowns one for each sandwich and the guy taking the order insist on saying is it 1 or 2 orders of hashbrowns. I asked for 2 hashbrowns, call it what ever suits you!
Two bad experiences in a row with this restaurant. Ordered with a delivery app once, waited for an hour, never got the food, had to cancel them. Visited there, ordered two bagel sandwiches, took 30 minutes to get the food while the people who came later than me getting what they ordered later than mine. Good bye.
I have visited this place countless times because of convenience. The sandwiches are below average and I paid $8.65 for an egg and cheese with avocado, IN JERSEY! The prices have skyrocketed and the quality is below average. Reconsider spending your money here. You can nearly buy a Chipotle bowl for the same price in NJ!
Fantastic Bagels!!! The bagel was delicious - crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. This place reminds me of a good ole NYC bagel store! The greeter was super friendly, and even recommended to me all the different type of sandwichs that I could order. The counter people are really patient, and really friendly. I tried the bacon, egg and cheese, the Philly cheese steak, and the beef empanadas. I LOVED everything. The food was fresh, and cooked to my liking.I will most definitely will be going back very soon to Mr Bagelworth!!!I highly suggest this place !!
Horrible experience. Everyone there was having same problem. We ordered 2 cuban sandwiches at 4 :09. We finally got them about 4:31. They were disgusting and soggy. My wife have two bites and threw it out. Other people upset waiting for their food. Two older people waiting on the counter and grill were clearly incompetent and poorly if at all trained. Better to close your door if understaffed then embarrass your name and business.
Best Nova Lox and Whitefish Salad in New Jersey!!! I was driving down River Road in Edgewater, NJ. I decided to stop into Trader Joe’s, but I was hungry. I went to visit Mr. Bagelsworth. I ordered the Nova Lox with vegetable cream cheese on an onion bagel with lettuce and tomato. The bagel was served warm. The lox was delicious. My mother in law enjoyed the whitefish salad on an everything bagel. The whitefish had jumbo chunks in the salad. It was delightful. There were a lot of people in the store. It took about 10 minutes to get my sandwich, but it was worth the wait. Mr. Bagelsworth will be a frequent location for me on Sunday’s. And the staff was very friendly!
This place should be called Mr. BagelsNOTworth your time or money. I have gone here for a few months hoping my experience would change each time and it never has. The guy at the front register gets your order wrong EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. And don’t even think you’ll be in an out, every experience here is a 20 minute wait for bagels even with no one in there.Today was the last straw when I ordered a lightly toasted bagel with low fat scallion cream cheese and was served CURDLED EXPIRED REGULAR CREAM CHEESE. One bite & I spit it out. The smell of it was rancid and I am shocked they served it to me - smelled like pure vomit and was chunky!! Of course no apology was offered and it took 10 minutes to get a new bagel.I am horrified at my experience today and there is a reason this place has 3.5 stars on Google and 2 on Yelp. Management should be ashamed of themselves.
UPDATE: I did come back, and we’re good again! I ordered online and the order was ready for me - delicious and perfect. Thanks for reading my original review and responding - and here’s hoping you see this revision. We’re back. This used to be my go-to bagel place until today. It took 20 minutes for an egg sandwich. They have seven people back there so there’s no staff shortage. The usual management wasn’t on duty so I wonder if there’s been a change there. I might try again when I’m not under time constraints.
I dropped in for a quick bite before a business meeting. It’s a decent menu of options. The staffer who took my order was polite but the main cashier was discourteous. The food sufficed in a pinch but my Sante Fe burger seemed to be missing some ingredients that would have pulled all the flavors together. It also wasn’t too tidy indoors.
The lady setting up the salad works food station doesnt follow food safety protocols. She is eating the toppings as I watch with her gloves on and setting up at the same time.Being in the restaurant business myself I mentioned to the manager and instead of going over to her when I walked away he pointed me out and said this guy said your eating the food on the line. Then she just laughed. The manager has no idea how to manage. The food remained on the line and the food prep person continued setting up with the same gloves.Forget about during covid...this is a food born illness waiting to happen. The health department needs to hear about this
Bad food with bad management. Have tried this place couple of times and am never going back now. We ordered an iced mocha which literally tasted like iced water. When we complained to the cashier who was quite rude, we were told that this is how it’s made. Literally take your money to other near by bagel places which are so much better.
I ordered sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel, nothing else. I read the price on the menu to be 5.50. I get charged 7.44, which I notice is closer to the gourmet meat price (considering tax). This has happened twice to me. Either they changed prices and havent updated the menu screens, or theyre knowingly overcharging me.
Absolutely gross…these people do not know how to make bagels. Lucky that there are located in a nice place..thinking about opening up a bagel shop next door and putting them out of business.
Not very many people there (two) when I went to have waited 10 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese. Seemed to be all over the place. Bagel was good, I must say
Great place for a bite to eat! Amazing staff!! Amazing food!!! I go every morning!!!! Love this place !!!!
Good place for a quick bite bagels always fresh. Staff is helpful and attentive.
The cashier was pretty rude, made other costumers repeat the order many times, it seems like he was angry. Then the $ 11.00 Lox was pretty bad, dry roll with little salmon and lots of lettuce. I just moved to the neighborhood and it’s not a place I will recommend. Service should be friendly and food done with more care.
Terrible bagel was cold, no cheese. Hash brown burntCall to complain they are nasty
3 minutes to get a nice chewy bagel with tons of cream cheese. Nuff said!
I went here about 5-10 times the past 2 months and the guy that takes the orders is always rude and careless. He is the one that always wears a hat. When you ask for a specific way for your sandwich to be made he pretty much rolls his eyes everytime. Food is good but service is horrible. I rather drive 2 more min away to the shop in the complex down the street.
Food is great and staff too. Ever since the store change owner it sucks. The person taking orders when you call and doesnt know how to speak to customer and on top of that double check your food, they would send you order with missing items or the food would no be made as you expected.
Worst attention ever, they don’t even answer back if you say hi especially the men who is in the cashier in charge of the shandwiches and bagels.I will never come over this please again.
It was a great experience. We moved from Edgewater 16 years ago and we religiously went there for breakfast because of the freshness of the bagels and sandwiches. Today we went and it was as great as it was 17 years ago.
Driving thru NJ and decided to stop at this location.. Loved the freshly made toasted lox bagel. Service was fast. Will definitely return
I honestly like this place a lot for breakfast. Their sandwiches are really good eggs are amazing and I love their sides. Would honestly highly recommend this place to anyone anytime. So reliable and always good quality vise on my experience.
Honestly I don’t know how to start off but let’s start with the fact that the food is decent if u just need a quick sandwich of bagel but the waiting area isn’t great they got someone’s order wrong . And the communication between them and their paying customers isn’t great.
Best bagels I ever had!!!
Delicious bagels!!! I come here often!
Very unhappy with how this place turned out. Use to love this place but now it’s just waiting extra long for the wrong food and paying for more than what you wanted, while receiving the wrong items. This place blows.
Good if you get here lunchtime at the latest. I only come here to get a bakers dozen at a time. They close early, at 4 p.m., and tend to run out of all the good bagels by about 2:30, at which point they do not make more, and the pickings are slim. The best time to come is about 1:30, when they still have a lot of good, warm bagels; a lot of help, as thats the time they expect to be busy; and things move fast - much faster than after 2:30, when it can take up to half an hour to get a bakers dozen, sliced, and the counterpeople sometimes dont know theyre supposed to throw one in free when you buy a dozen.
Worst service ever. Slow and rude. Will never go back. Bagels were just ok. Skimmed on toppings.
I have now given this establishment several opportunities. Each time the one sandwich I order is wrong and the staff is rude and has ignored me or brushed me off.
The review is strictly about the salmon bagel. I find it better than the popular ones from the city. Yum yum.
Best bagels I have had in the neighborhood. The coffee is pretty good as well. These are the two main reasons I go to this shop often. The staff is very courteous and attentive but the only downside is it does take some wait before you get serviced most of the time and this is purely based on my experience.
This place has rats as large as the owners and cockroaches swarming everywhere be careful always look when you’re eating your sandwich or platter
I use to like this place the last two times I was there I had TERRIBLE service. Waited over 20 min for 4 sandwiches and fries. I would have ordered online but last time I did that they meseed up my order (3 turkey and amecian on plain bagels) and had to stand there while they remade it anyway. I wont be going back.
This place is a hit or miss unfortunately the last three times it has been really bad. I kept going there because it has a convenient location but after today Im not going back there again. All the good reviews are fake and all the bad ones are so true. The place itself looks old and dirty. People working there are not friendly at all and they just look like they hate their job. The food is barely decent or bad but never good. I would definitely not recommend this place.
The best bagels I’ve tasted in a long time. I ordered a poppyseed bagel, cream cheese and smoked lox. The bagel was scrumptious with plenty of poppyseeds!!! Loads! I mean, I’ve had poppyseed bagels before, but the bagel was just loaded with poppyseed seeds!Amazing staff and food. Will be visiting daily!!!!
Lox and bagel is awesome
Okay bagel place / deli. A little dated but seems to have a big menu. Took a really long time to get a very simple order but luckily we were not in a rush. The bagel was ok, did not care for the veggie cream cheese. I am very critical of bagels though so please keep that in mind.
I avoid this place whenever I am hungry. The waut is just too long for. A bagel. 20mins for one bagel? They need to hire more people. Im used to gettibg my bagel in 5mins tops
Service is super slow and inefficient. Badly managed, unapologetic about the long wait. 20-25 min for my order of a white fish bagel and a ham egg & cheese.
Ordered a Taylor ham and cheese. It was the saddest looking sandwich I’ve ever seen. Barely 2 slices of each and ice cold. Worst sandwich I’ve ever had
Lady at the register tends the person in front of me and didnt even acknowledge me standing there for a whole minute then proceeds to help out other walk-ins.
Best bagels in the area
The worst establishment in all of New Jersey
Ordered an egg white wrap with ham and cheese and what I got was so salty it tasted like the ocean! Had to throw it out after two bites (only took a second bite because I couldnt believe my taste buds after the first). I typically like well-seasoned food but this was simply inedible.Assuming it was actually edible, I still would not have been satisfied because the wrap was so tiny. Seriously, I have never seen a wrap that small before! And I was shocked that they told me it would take 15 minutes to make a simple breakfast wrap at 7 am when there was only one person ordering in front of me.Sad that this is what we have as our local bagel shop. Will not be back!
I grew up around the area, while eating there bagels. ts sad to see that the new owners are not able to run the place well.Last year it was sold by a local owner who ran it in pretty good shape for years, the food was always fresh, staff was active and place was pumping.Good Luck.
These guys are incapable of running a busy shop. Waited close to 30 min after ordering over the phone for pickup. Average food, long wait time, look elsewhere.
Sandwich was worst I’ve ever had. All bread, ingredients minimal. One slice of meat and One slice of cheese. 45 minute wait and $9. Wife’s egg sandwich was good thou.
Nine out of ten times they cant get order right!!! Good bagels.
Not only is this place overly priced. They are RUDE. very rude. When I asked why I was charged an extra $6 on my order the cashier rudely replied “I can give you a receipt if you want”. All I was asking was why a $8 sandwich came out to $14....I don’t think that’s being unreasonable. Not only is the staff extremely rude they are limited in food options and honestly the food is not even that good. I would avoid.
Very disappointing! new owners are ruining this place, not friendly at all. Used to be a great bagel shop but no longer. Try JJ bagels in ridgefield or metro bagels in Fairview .
Great bagels!!
Used to enjoy coming here but now with new owners things have changed. They take super long to give your food even if place is empty, prices have gone up and food is almost always cold. Cant say Ill return
Very good, consistent great tasting foods served since many years! My favorite breakfast place in town! They also have great food for lunch. Enjoy!
Great location, good food, but the service is not as fast as the prior owners. You order a simple blueberry muffin which sits in a tray inches away from him taking the order and it takes them 25 mins to it gather into a bag. This has happened to me a number of times.
Smoked salmon bagel is the best
Thank you so much for your contribution of bagels to the Alzheimers Association! You made our 2018 walk a success! Because of your contribution the walkers had fresh bagels the morning of the walk in Overpeck Park. You guys rock!!
Extremely friendly helpful service, went above and beyond to allow me to try using Samsung Pay on my phone as I had no other form of payment immediately available. Everything bagel need more of the everything but was quite light and fluffy. I got 4 bagels for 95 cents each, the sign says $1.50 if you want them cut but I can of course do that at home. There was not a very long line at 8am on a Saturday in August. The other clientele were all very reasonable. There are chairs and tables to sit outside but its really just at the end of a strip mall on a busy local road. However, there are many other useful morning errand shops in the same strip mall plus its adjacent to the Hudson River with a walking path so its overall quite a nice place to go for bagels.
Usually my go to bagel spot when in the area, i guess the establishment is under new ownership so the menu has expanded considerably but the quality of the bagels and various other items have stayed the same. The store hours are also great..really good Sunday hours.
Extremely slow for a simple order...not good service
The new owners are incredibly rude. Food is mediocre, bordering on awful. Had to throw the coffee out.
Bagels are good but place has gotten too expensive. Over $3 for a bagel with flavored cream cheese. Not worth that price. Also took way to long to get it with no other customers around.
Their one job was to make ham, egg and cheese on a roll... Get home and just have egg on a roll. After waiting for 20 minutes you figure they would get the order right. Bagels and More down river rd is much better.. A lesson learned.
Dont order for delivery.order never showed up and number just beeps endlessly.
The best bagels available on the area. Good sandwiches. Regular coffee is fine. Specialty coffee is too bitter for my tastes, but I am sure others prefer it.
Sort of has that Soup Nazi vibe,1. wait on line2. order and give name3. step left and wait till name is called4. proceed to payment when name is calledAverage bagels and sandwiches, nothing to brag about.
Awesome bagels & guy at counter was so cool when we told him that we were taking the bagels back to Virginia he gave us plastic bags
This place is great now the last people who had it did a horrible job. But new owner are awesome and Friendly!!!! I will definitely recommend it!!!! Breakfast is good and home fries are delicious!!!! Ask for Cafe con Leche or make your own!
Since new ownership took over it has to be one of the worst ran bagel shops and businesses I’ve ever seen. Pointless number system that Takes 10 minutes to get a bagel. Go after 9am and the chance of getting a fresh bagel are slim to none.
Delicious, best options to choose, always fresh and tasty. Little pricey.
I loved this place with the old owners. It was like family ❤️ And my boyfriend and I frequently stopped by. Now they left ☹️And the new owners are still ironing out the kinks and I get that, but while youre ironing out the kinks you have to have good customer relations. 3 times I went and 3 times was disappointed with the service. This past time I called at 7.38 am, going by my call log, and ordered my bagel. I went there and still had to wait 15 minutes. It was now 8.03. I had to go to work. My sandwich was sitting there and I asked the girl 3 times if that was my sandwich whilst she took care of others and ignored me. I turned around frustrated and she said, with an attitude!, Im sorry but other people have been waiting!!!! Excuse me? I called this in 20 minutes ago!!! So Ive, technically, been in line for 20 minutes!!! How rude! 3 strikes youre out. Time to find another bagel store.
SUPER SLOW. Food is okay; coffee is good.
Great place, great bagels. Friendly atmosphere.
Could have gave 3 stars to express how average this spot is now, but 2 stars to express overall disappointment. This place used to be my GO-TO for bagel sandwiches etc. Continued patronage after new management.. and the food and service is just way dumber. Always get the lox combo, but went in today and theres barely any lox. (I would attach a pic but I dont see the option to do so). There are so many bagel spots to go to, why the hell am I still coming here? Sad sandwich, no hustle in the service.
I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and lox. Very skimpy on both, and way overpriced. $12 for a bagel and coffee? Come on man! Sat down at the table and it was dirty. I wouldnt return. Much better options in the area.
To be really honest with this store, I really find staffs are nice and kind. Also the most important part of the store is the food. Food is great and seems like made with the fresh bagels and vegetables or meats. I really enjoy going there. I like the new owners and workers. Especially the asian guy with the hat who takes the order is the best part of the shop. 5 star out of 5. TotallySUPER recommended to go
This place has consistently gone downhill. I called in an order to pick up. When I got there they were clueless of my order and said they couldn’t make one of the items. So I asked to just get the other item and they said ok we can make that now. That’s not the point of calling ahead
Good eggplant parm panini.
I think this place has its own passionNice workersNice foodsNice ownersHope workers and owners dont listen to haters who write some mean reviews like “some worker is rude” because i always find out to be customers are rude first then workers answer to that situation. So mrbagelsworth people! Don’t listen to this reviews. Keep hustling!Hope that some reviews like specifying some worker get reported!
This place was horrible. I’m sorry I don’t like to bash anyone but the food was so gross i actually gagged after the first bite and threw away the entire plate. I spent $20 on eggs, potatoes and a bagel. To be fair though - the coffee was okay and the bagel was okay. It wasn’t good but def not as horrible as the egg plate.I’m a vegetarian and I can tell you they cook their food in oil mixed with meat. My eggs tasted like day old bacon oil. So so disgusting....
Great bagels and the tuna and cranberry is delicious
They have a nice menu, the only thing Ive had here was there Tuna which is pretty good
Good egg sandwiches. Good deli sandwiches. Solid choice for breakfast or early lunch.
This place changed ownership in Feb. 2018, so disregard reviews prior. Its a completely different establishment. In expanding the menu (fine), theyve decreased portion sizes and increased pricing. Theyve sacrificed quality for variety, and the customer service is abysmal. Ive never waited less than 20 mins--just for a couple breakfast sandwiches. Each time weve been there, my husband and I have interacted with the shorter gentleman with glasses and earrings (sometimes wearing a baseball cap) and he is just so, so rude. Perhaps the other staff are friendly/professional, but this guy is unpleasant enough to have made a lasting negative impression, and he should be spoken to. We keep coming here simply because its close to home, but please--do better.
Great delicious bagels with fresh ingredients. The coffee wasnt all that great. The service is quick and they have friendly staff
This used to be the best bagel on this side of the Hudson. It is no longer, since Mr. Bagelsworth sold the business. We tried to like it a few times! But we gave up.
Excellent crew excellent food and good price
Highly priced. Drink price is outrageous for the standard drinks they sell. Large size is equivalent to small or medium size in other shops.
Love this place, fast, friendly service@
