This company is AWFUL. We also had equipment already installed when we purchased our home. They did not replace or add anything, yet gave me a 3 year contract including fees for installation. That should have been my red flag, but now here we are approaching 3 years of service and I have had nothing but problems. Alarm randomly goes off in the middle of the night waking up the entire house, including our baby. The customer service is the worst I have EVER experienced. Never apologetic or offer solutions. Just want to charge me additional money to have someone come check the malfunctioning sensors, which we did once and it never resolved our problems. If you are on the fence about going with them... don’t do it!! I promise it will save you a huge headache from start to finish. Can’t say enough about how terrible this company truly is.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE CONTRACT THEY PUSH YOU TO SIGN IS A 5 YEAR CONTRACT AND YOU CANT GET OUT, THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THAT OR MAKE IT CLEAR PLEASE BE CAREFUL IM A VICTIM AND ILL TRY TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE. Worst company ever! Buy the ring stay off of it. What a mistake. There a lot cheaper options out there now! Good luck

Bought a business with a existing equipment managed by Protection 1. The equipment was at least 30 years old, yet they still sign up for a 60 month contract. Once the store we remodeled, there was no need for alarm, so it was removed. Once I contacted customer service to cancel service, I was told that I have to pay off the full term of the contract and while the customer service rep has the ability to work with customers on charges, she wont do it. Amazing arrogance and rudeness.

Unhelpful crooks - I own my equipment. I ask for a quote to replace the motherboard and program the system. The quote is just shy of $250 with a hook - I have to sign a 60 month service agreement with no early exit option. I own my own equipment! I could understand if they gave me free equipment to start the deal. Anyway, the quote if I dont sign is then $250 for the board ($15 - $70 bucks on ebay) plus 3 hours of labor at $85. Ridiculous.

Horrible customer service. Called for a quote and they requested my social security number and bank account number, even before I signed a contract or even had an estimate. When I said I didnt feel comfortable they told me to have a nice day and hung up. Rude, horrible experience.
