When you need hardware but cannot describe what you need, you go to a local hardware shop like Edison Millwork. I lost a tiny (and I mean tiny) screw for my hole saw/cutter mandrel. I went right to Edison Millwork, showed the young lady at the counter....She knew exactly what I needed and tried several of these miniature set screws (found out what they were called) until she hit the right one. I bought 2 so I have spare. And you cannot beat the price $0.35 each! Plus the receipt shows the description so I put that with my hole saw blades.

Some time ago I went to the place and asked for a hickory board to make handles. Later, people told me I bought 3ft of Douglas pine.That was the last time I went to the place. Make sure you know what you need, how much it should cost and dont ask them for advice.

They are a great place for everything! I had 2 screens rescreened and bought my Fall flowers in one visit. They open early in the morning so can run your errands before work!

Horrible and condescending attitude. They dont have the decency to respond to a simple product availability request. Plus they have limited lumber. They dont carry most dimensions and species.

My sister needed a plexiglass custom cut for an art exhibition, trekked to several chain stores to see if they would do it, only to come up empty. After a google search and one phone call, we found local Millwork. The owners and staff were very helpful and it definitely left an impact: two years later as I was trying to think of who I could turn to to have my board custom cut for display, I knew who to call. The staff was incredibly understanding and patient. Even when I couldnt figure out the exact dimensions, they took their time inquiring me and helping me prop it up to allow me to try and visualize it from a distance. They are absolutely amazing, definitely reach out to them if you need anything for sure.

This is a great local store thats been around forever. Edison Millwork has the best selection of molding for old houses. It is the only place I know of where you can find molding to match what you already have in your century-old house. In addition, I recently ordered a John Boos brand butcher block countertop for my kitchen. Both Angelo and Chris were extremely helpful throughout the entire process, even coming out to my house to confirm my measurements before ordering. Overall I highly recommend Edison Millwork because they are knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly.

As a Highland Park neighbor this store is one of my go-to places for nearly anything Id need for my apartment. What I like about this place is Im greeted when I walk in, offered help, and depending on my need and interest the folks there help me, or let me comfortably browse.Recently, I was looking for some dresser knobs and I wasnt sure of the exact size, Chris suggested I purchase one of each in a different size to see what works and theyd refund whichever didnt work. Really appreciated the help and suggestion. Found the perfect knobs too!One of the things that I think isnt brought up enough, is how well decorated the place is--its truly a unique gem for hardware stores.Finally, and for a single lady, perhaps importantly, the place is affordable. I always end up finding some other things I need and NEVER feel like Im breaking the bank. Shopping at EMH is a great way to put money into our local economy--would recommend to anyone.

This place came highly recommended by close friends so paid a visit yesterday. Being first time painters, we confessed our newbieness when it came to painting. Mark, went above and beyond in answering all our questions and even gave us pointers on how, what and whereofs. Reminded me of the stories I had heard of good ol days when local family owned businesses were more than a part of the community and played an important role in building things rather than replacing things. We have found ourselves a permanent place to buy our maintenance supplies.

Very nice local lumber yard which has lots of good things like plants very friendly service and more attentive than the big box stores I would say go there for all your needs they can spy anything and their prices are very very reasonable the plants they had very nice plants there for Gardens as well as unusual plants like the plants that you have it for me for Hawaii the flowers for the leis try it I think youll be happily surprised

After being disappointed (AGAIN) at home depot i came here. He was very knowledgable about my door project and gave me everything i needed to finish it. Everything that he sold me was cheaper the lowes and home depot. There ahould be alot more stores like this one. Home depot and lowes lost a customer and true value gains another. Anything i need im come here from now on.
