Walked in and stood at the counter and waited to be acknowledged. Two people came in behind me and the guy looked right past me and asked the couple coming in what he could get started for them. I guess I’m invisible. I left and went next door to Sgt Peppers and had a wonderful breakfast

Absolutely love this place! Food is always fantastic and all the employees are terrific! Perfect Saturday breakfast spot after going to the Goshen Market. Currently working our way through the pastries and menu, highly recommend the bacon cheddar pull apart, any pizza (the dough is amazing), ham and swiss pastry, and the waffles. We always look forward to stopping in!

I came here to visit some family and decided to stop in and get some coffee. The staff was very kind and helped me pick out the perfect drink for me. They greet u as soon as u walk in the door and were very patient with me as I sat there for 3 minutes debating with myself about what I wanted to drink. They helped me decide to get an ice latte with Carmel and white mocha. Simple but the perfect drink. I personally love this place more than any coffee shop Ive ever been to. Ill for sure go back everyday Im here.

They have pizza types beyond the norm and all are good. The espresso I had was just okay, no real richness to the cremé and no tiger stripes. Solid experience overall and will go again.

As a sourdough bread maker myself, I know good sourdough and 222 by far has the best + wonderful service!

We love this local place and would love to give it 5 stars but almost every visit (and there have been a lot), something goes wrong with a food order. Ive had cold quiche, really long waits where they forgot about parts of an order, food brought out without silverware, partially wrong orders, etc. However, the food, atmosphere, and coffee are great so we keep going back.

Nice little bakery but they were out of pastries before 11am. You’d think they would be better prepared with inventory.

This place is what every downtown needs. The baristas are knowledgeable, experienced and pleasant. The food is amazing - you describe your desired sandwich and they will make it for you. I am embarrassed to admit that last week - for the first time - we bought a loaf of cinnamon-raisin bread. It makes wonderful toast to compliment any breakfast. But, aside from particular sandwiches we prefer, my wife and I are hooked on what are amazing pizzas. That’s right. Pizza! I like the more traditional with the marinara sauce and meat and green pepper. But, she gets a garlic butter topping with spinach, chicken and mixed cheeses. Other than the exemplary bakery goods, I believe the pizza is the sole menu offering on Fridays and Saturdays. Those pizzas make any weekend better!

The dough of their pizza is excellent. I devoured that pizza and had a Machiatto with it because thats the real 222 Artisan experience in my opinion. Stop in! Its quality all around. Goshen Coffee Beans are local and create an amazing brew.

My favorite cafe in Edwardsville. It has the best atmosphere and staff. The food is expensive but delicious. I always get the biscuits & gravy whenever I get breakfast with friends on weekends. Chai tea lattes & coffee is good too :)

Very busy and for a good reason. We ordered the Bacon Jack Breakfast Burrito, Bowl of Oatmeal, Cinnamon Roll, Ice Caramel Latte and White Chocolate Mocha...and it was all very good. This is another local gem, come check it out.

The pizza was very bad!! It was like a piece of bread with tomato.

Best cinnamon rolls around!! Coffee is pretty awesome too.

House salad was great! Really good balsamic dressing, and the chopped apple pieces were a nice touch. The blueberry Danish is what I usually get and its really really good!

Excellent selection of breads, with many quick breads, desserts, and classic patisseries as well. The NY seeded rye was delicious, a high caraway medium rye sourdough that made a beautiful grilled pastrami asiago spinach sandwich!

Very good food & drink! Their iced chai is the best chai I have ever tasted, and I have tasted a lot of chai. I also got a quiche and that was also very good & fairly sized for the price. I also got a macchiato, and I was expecting milk, vanilla and espresso iced, but turns out an actual macchiato is 3 shots of espresso with a splash of milk. I was okay with it though, that wasn’t their fault I don’t know what I’m talking about haha. They really should invest in a larger space though, we went on a Tuesday morning and there were very few seats available. We were sitting in the very back and there was a milk delivery and we were asked to move. Overall a good experience! :)

Hot breakfast sandwiches are so good. Dont go expecting donuts, though. You wont find those here. They have a great lunch menu and coffee/tea. Aesthetically pleasing store - and the aromas will have your mouth watering for all the goodies inside. Friendly & quick serving staff.

My husband and I were just walking by and saw they had books out for children. She offered them to us for our 5 year old son and gave us free fresh bread, oatmeal premixes, and coffee! She was so incredibly kind and I will definitely be heading here when things open back up! She was amazing, people, come get some baked goods and coffee from here! They are super awesome!

Great lattes and blueberry muffins. Surprisingly good oatmeal. Pizza could be better and I probably wouldnt get it again, but I have high expectations coming from Chicago.

Oh! M! G! 1st of all, Edwardsville has the nicest people in America. You all need to write a book. Secondly, as Im walking around downtown, I happen upon ABC. Im trying to read the signs inside the cafe and Josh sees me and comes over and opens the door (they were closed btw) and answers my questions. THEN, I go the next morning and Josh is there! My classmate and I order a variety of items and sit at the counter to eat. THEN, I ask Josh do the bags have the store logo on it and he says no, but, I can stamp it for you. I could go on and on but you get the picture. Oh! The baked oatmeal was amazing. I can no longer eat packaged oatmeal. This place is everything.

Best part was the coffee. Pastry was mediocre. Quiche was visually unappealing and lacked taste/texture. Yogurt in parfait was very thick which made it dry and there was too much granola.

I really like this bakery as the coffee is good and they are always so accommodating with their sandwiches by making it a salad for me. However, it would be nice if they had some gluten free options. I know it may be cost prohibitive and I can understand that. Thanks for the great atmosphere!

One off my favorite places. Great breads. Great espresso drinks. Be sure to try the croissant or the cinnamon roll. The pizzas and sandwiches are good to (pizzas served Fri-Sun, sandwiches Mon-Thu).

This, has become my favorite place when I visit from Memphis. I love the atmosphere, the food was fantastic, and the coffee, well I made a trip daily to have a cup. I also bought the roasted coffee beans and have been enjoying an amazing cup of coffee here at home in Tennessee. I sure enjoyed meeting several family members there daily and Ill definitely make it my go to place from now on.

A home away from home! Great service. Great people. Delicious everything. Whenever possible, this is where I begin my day. The scones are fantastic (I prefer blueberry). But, lately I’ve grown fond of the quiche. On other days, I get tempted when my eyes wander across the bakery case and spot an apple crisp. As the architect of one of the lunchtime sandwiches (Monday through Thursday) I feel these culinary wonders are best described as “masterpieces” (if I dare say so myself). And..., the way to celebrate Friday’s and Saturday’s is with a 222 pizza made to one’s own liking. 222 has extended hours on Friday and Saturday. There are no better pizzas anywhere!

Delicious coffee and baked items are always good. Bagels are delicious. Only not great thing Ive had there is the biscuits and gravy.. the biscuit was too heavy and they seemed dry. Service is great too and very nice people.

Delicious and wonderful. We were recommended by our friends who go there often.We got our coffee order but there was a minor problem with our food order. They apologized profusely and fixed the problem immediately. They were fantastic.

This place is a great spot to meet up with friends. Im not a coffee person, but their pastries are to die for. Strawberry cheesecake Danish is my go to.

The food is always great and the coffee is amazing. But the space they have is Insufficient for their customer base. So if want a to-go order grab it, if you wanna sit enjoy your morning skip it. Though the staff is friendly and wonderful the customer base could careless; if you have to stand with your children. Ive had this experience more then once.

A great local bakery, their menu items are very fresh. The environment is laid back and relaxing, I go there with my friends and family often just to chill out and have a good time. Customer service is great, everyone seems to be smiling all the time, the cafe is one of my top places to go when I have free time.

Artisan is wonderful. Ive been frequenting this coffee shop and restaurant for over five years. They definitely have the best coffee in town. Honestly, one of the best coffees in the St. Louis area. Also carry an insane assortment of breakfast, breads and have some signature items that are all great. Highly recommend.

I used to take great delight in treating myself with a baked goody from 222. I would dash in for lattes. Our office frequently ordered lunch and loved it. I lunches here with my mother about 6 weeks ago. I ordered the sweet potato and cauliflower soup. It was inedible. It looked and tasted like a giant blob of baby food mixed with water. Then, the week of Thanksgiving, I had brunch with a friend. Her quiche tasted off and she sent it back. My breakfast burrito was greasy and the eggs were rubbery. As much as it pains me, I wont be back. I am sure Matt is shaking his head somewhere.

Great little spot just off the highway. Theres plenty of seating inside and out (we opted for outdoor seating since were traveling with our dog), good coffee, tasty treats and friendly staff. Glad we stopped for breakfast here before hitting the road again.

Great coffee, the lattes are perfection. Banana, caramel is my favorite! The croissant was okay, we had a few of the bakery items, since they werent making sandwiches for breakfast. Which I though was a bit odd. But I had the quiche. It was awful. No flavor, which really surprised me. It wont be a go to breakfast spot for us. But the coffee, service and surroundings are excellent.

Maybe I should just take up residence at 222 Artisan. The northernmost of downtown Edwardsvilles four cafes with character, its the one that most invites lingering, it seems to me, with its bakery-cafe-coffee-shop multiple personality. It manages to be both well-lit and cozily shadowed inside. My sandwich was excellent and, oh dear, the scent of fresh bread! You may park for free for two hours in d-town Ed-ville, if youre still dragging that nasty auto around, so, no excuse! The java is fair trade and locally roasted by Goshen Coffee, too ... wins all around.

Good place to stop by for lunch. Tried my first Danish here. It was great!

Artisan has probably some of the best pastries I have had, and I hate puff pastries. These are so delicious and baked the day off. Make sure to go in early to make sure you even get any!

Just had my first meal here. Breakfast burrito was really good. Coffee was great. However I am taking one star off because the bathroom was really gross. The toilet looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a while. Also I saw a few people come in, fill their own mugs with coffee and then leave without paying for it. Maybe the refill cannister needs to be monitored more

The bread is amazing. Its worth every penny for the quality. The service is consistently kind and I am always greeted with a smile.

This place has the best pastry this side of Paris. Not the sticky sweet overload that passes for pastry in most of this country rather delicate rich pastry with a well balance assortment of goodies . The coffee is the best in the area. Every time I go there i am reminded of my time in Paris. Wish I lived closer.

Now that they have expanded there is more room to sit. They have two people filling orders so the service is fast. The croissants and pastries are excellent.
