A1 Liquors sits on the main drag of hwy 33 sitting just a few blocks from IGA the Courthouse and the Public Library too. Tbh Im rather impressed with this place, they have a fairly good diverse selection of liquor & beer, plus a small but healthy stock of sodas & mixers to go with my drinking needs, the place is clean & free of clutter, the place gets regular traffic yet has never gotten too crowded or busy that I feel cramped or impatient or uncomfortable shopping or checking out; there r usually 2 if not 3 clerks on staff so business goes by quickly for checkout. Theres also a small but effective video gaming gambling room if such is ur thing & ur left pretty much along back there to gamble in peace. Overall, this is a good liquor store and I intend to continue to make use of it whenever I happen to b visiting my friends here in Effyand feel the need for a drink of beer or some Ameretto Sours to pass my time by with my friends here.

If you are looking for a great selection of beer, wine or spirits this place has it. Knowledgeable staff. Clean, well organized shopping experience and a great location. They have it all at A-1.

If you are a bourbon enthusiast this is the shop for you. I shopped their barrel picks. I like knowing someone has taken the time to visit the distillery and select the barrel with the best flavor profile. Prices were fair and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I glanced at the wine section and was impressed with some of the wineries they carry. I plan to do some holiday gift shopping there. Great experience overall.

Great store to shop in! They have an excellent selection of bourbons, whiskeys, tequilas, vodkas, and beer you name it! I would say it’s the best in central Illinois if you have not been in I would recommend stopping by there. Very knowledgeable on bourbon as I am a coming up bourbon fan I am very satisfied every time I go in there. They are always willing to order stuff if you don’t see it on the shelf. I would recommend it to anyone.

Very helpful people, but a little pricy. Most bourbons could be found cheaper at Meyers. Some unique bottles, but we didnt find anything special on the day we were there. They did offer tastings, which was very nice!

Fantastic store. One of the best collection of spirits, wine & beer I have found in central Illinois. Staff is friendly knowledgeable as well. I love this place! The staff is awesome. And its newly renovated and looks great. Prices are extremely reasonable as well. (I had to fix my previous review because it was actually meant for Lions liquor in the same area) but this store is the best.
