I came here with some family on 7/15/21 and it was great! I came here a few years ago for breakfast and my family didn’t like it but we came here for dinner and it was much better! We got pizza, salad, fish, and chicken and they were all delicious. We also got pistachio and hazelnut gelato and that was very good and flavorful! I got the salad and it was amazing! Everyone else loved their food. Overall, I will definitely be coming back!
Ate here for the first time on a Sunday morning. They seated my husband and I right away. The customer service was OUTSTANDING. Very friendly and welcoming, and you could tell they were trying their best to keep up with the lunch crowd that came in after us. Bella was our server and we LOVED her. Our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. This is a hidden gem that I hope more people will appreciate. Thanks to Bella and the rest of the staff (they were all equally wonderful) we had a wonderful Sunday brunch.
EXCELLENT!!! A San Diego resident friend of ours took us here for brunch. Our temperatures were checked before we were seated in our own little divided off area. Menus were on a QR code. Get the breakfast burrito!! So. Freaking. GOOD. Our friend ordered the Avocado toast and loved it as well. We cant forget the mimosas now can we? HUGE and quite delicious. The next day, as we headed home we couldnt help but stop here again. Unfortunately they dont do breakfast on Mondays, but our lunch choices did NOT disappoint. The lasagna was fantastic and the chicken bacon mac and cheese was devine!!! 😍🤩 I cant wait to come here again. 10/10 happy dances
Our waiter was nice enough but we never got water refills once during our visit. We ordered the 1/2 pound kobe beef burger and spaghetti and meatballs. The burger was charred to an unpleasant bitter. Spaghetti was fine, but the meatballs tasted microwaved and not fresh. Definitely not worth the price.
Amazing food and amazing service. I forget the woman who was serving our table but she did a tremendous job: super friendly and helpful with the menu. 10/10 recommend this place for authentic food and phenomenal staff.
Took my mom out for dinner to Dolci. Had an amazing time. I did call ahead to see how busy they are due to some of the reviews. Be aware that the later you go the more likely it is to be busy. As with most places they are short staffed. Be patient with them if youre going to get there after 5:30pm. We got lucky and got there just before the rush. Food was delicious, waiter attentive and friendly. We got the chicken marsala, Tuscan salad, penne pasta and an appetizer.
I wouldnt recommend this restaurant for people with food allergies. My husband and I came in hopes of having a romantic meal together, but they couldnt accommodate my egg allergy. Waitress was very nice & patient, but we left after my husband had his coffee and didnt get to eat. Very disappointing experience.
It was an amazing diner to beginning to end.First of all we had the best waiter, Tony, who made excellent recommendations that er all enjoyed tremendously. If you’re a lemon fan try the limoncello cake, fluffy and full of flavor.
Amazing Italian food and drinks! I will definitely be back again for more!
We have been in the San Diego area for a month, just discovered this gem! BEST food we have had and Tony our server was the best. We will come again!
Great place and atmosphere. Food is delish! Highly recommended.
Hours of operation need to be much clearer!Being rushed thru the salad (ceaser, good!)To the seafood chippino (also excellent!) lent the dining experience harried as opposed to luxurious.
My gf and I had pur first date here a year ago. Great to come back! Great food, atmosphere, and service. We will be back again.
The perfect place for real food. And great service.
My wife and I ate here for the first time on a Thursday evening in July. Patio seating was cool and comfortable on this hot day. I got the Linguini Gabmberi which has a fusion pesto cream sauce that is perfection. Wife got a Calzone which was very good. Service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. Prices are a bit high but you get what you pay for.
The food was great and the price is decent. But the service on a Thursday night was horrible we had two different servers food took way to long we were ask for parmasan cheese for our pasta never got it, and to pick up my check took 20min to get my change took another 10 minutes..
Everytime we go to Dolci Cafe Italiano, we have the best meals and service. We never leave hungry! This place always serves the best food.
I ordered a calzone and they brought a pizza. I told the waiter and he said, it’s the same thing, just fold it! My husband and I couldn’t believe the waiter said this! Ordered wine but the glass was dirty which another waiter had cleaned but the wine (Pinot Noir) tasted moldy which means it was “corked” (had bacteria). On the positive side, the cappuccino was decent. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was not a good experience and most likely won’t return.
My favorite Italian restaurant for date night and girls night out.
Food was great! I dont know if it was because there was 1 waitress, but service was not so great. One table was being tended to more often then ours. I had to ask for a straw 3 times, not once our waters were filled again, AND there was a hair in my friends spaghetti and meatballs...YUCK! No refund on her meal...bad business mistake.
Amazing food snd nice service. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Showed up 35 minutes after placing my togo order!! Only to wait another 25 from it to be finished.TO BE GREETED WITH AN ATTITUDEStaff was so RUDE!!!! I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AND MAKE AURE TO SPREAD THE WORD!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Chef Boyardee makes better spaghetti and meatballs...their pasta is worse. The Parmesan cheese for the Caesar salad is as hard as a rock and their bread might as well have razor blades...I ordered from here twice only because they had anchovies...but they charged $3 for the anchovies, $20 for the noodles with ragu sauce and unseasoned meatballs, $11 for the grocery store salad mix...then couldn’t be bothered to supply utensils with the order. Take your business elsewhere, these folks clearly don’t care
Our family had a delicious breakfast here, we would definitely recommend it. Food and service was great. We got the Dolci Benedict, the Banana and Nutella Crepes, the Fruit Bowl and the Pesto Buschetta and we were extremely satisfied. Thank you to our server, Roberto. We will definitely visit again (when ever were in town).
The food was very good and there were many menu items and specials to choose from.
I am not a big Italian food fan but I have to say I got the best lamb I have ever had here about a week ago. Definitely recommend this restaurant. The service was also a plus and knowledgeable. Well earned 5 star 👍
The bruschetta was good. I asked for arugula on it, and they added it for me. The margherita pizza was divine!
Great food and competitive prices. Nice area for outdoor dining. The specialty salads and pizza really stand out.
Aside from excellent service attention food was delicious awsome
Wow. I had the Dolci egg Benedict’s and it was amazing and the side of hash browns were the best potatoes I’ve ever had. I never thought a side of hash browns would be so memorable. What a pleasure.
The food was hit or miss:The calamari was underseasoned and a little rubbery. The Cesar salad was good. The lasagna was inedible - the pasta was tough and most of the cheese pooled in single liquidy mass. The caprese salad was poor: the tomatoes were under ripe, there was very little balsamic drizzle (what was there tasted good, and the pesto was lovely. The service was slow, and they forgot to bring us an appetizer. It was not worth the price.
This place is freakn delicious!
This place is super cute, has mostly outdoor seating with a net surrounding it; so no bugs.I got the banana nutella crepe which looked super good when I got it and couldnt wait to eat it when I got home. The servers that were there were super nice to me when I walked in. Took my order fast and got it out fast. The only thing is that the crepe was $9 which I didnt expect it to be that much, but the taste makes it worth it.
We had french toast and Belgan waffle.Good flavor, personally I take out two stars, one because portions are not big, especially if you are very hungry, second one because its some expensive and service some slow-distracted, they didnt bring my husband syrup and took too long to get the check (oh, orange juice is bottle regular juice, really nothing desirable or tasty)I took some time reading other peoples comments and seems like mostly friends and family customers, but really need some attention on your quality-size portions for that price, I can get completely full at other places.
Best kept secret of Ranch San Diego! You will just love eating here. My wife and I love coming here every Sunday :)
Really good food I will be going back.
Wrost experience ever! Sat me and a friend and left us to dry. No menu nothing 2 tables were sat after us and both got their orders taken before us. Worst experience for a first time visitor at a restaurant walked out. The worst place to visit not LGBT friendly. Cant say it enough the worst experience ever!
Have never been overly impressed with Dolci Cafe, food was ok, poor customer service. But my experience this week will be my last.Ordered take-out in person. As I waited outside for my order, witnessed people arriving for DINE IN service, against the current health pandemic orders. At home, while eating a portion of the meal I ordered (spaghetti), I discovered a foreign sensation in my mouth, turns out to be a long narrow piece of sliced clear plastic appearing to be likely from a food supply packaging. Was disgusting, and lucky I didn’t choke on it. I didn’t dare eat any more, and tossed out the remaining food, 3/4’s of what I paid $14 for.
Just….go. You won’t regret it.
Food excellent and very kind waiter girl, well done.👍👍😁😁😁
Nice Ambience. Good Food.
Great restaurant.
I love the hands free menu to start. The food was wonderful and I was happy to spend the time with my family sweet friends. It was a grand timr.
I have only the best to say about this place. Tony is our favorite server but ALL the staff are fantastic. All dishes are great and there is lots of parking. If you live in East County it is close. If you want to take a drive out Old Hiway 94, it is a great stop on the way out, or back.
Another great meal. The pizza here is outstanding. Today I enjoyed a great panini while my wife had a delicious salad.Be sure to try the calamari and arancino appetizers.
Played over 15$ for a plate of spaghetti that tasted like it was straight out of a prego can. I make better sauce at home
Food and service was excellent
Reasonable prices for good Italian food. They have great seafood dishes and also daily specials that the chef comes up with. My wife and I have been eating here for years and have never been disappointed.
EXCELLENT food and service!! What more is there to say? The portions are good and the seating is very nice. This restaurant has dine in and take out options and participates in many of the takeout delivery options such as door dash and uber eats.Support your local restaurants with take out options!!
Delicious food!
We had amazing chicken parm and ossobuco tonight. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful!
Liked it. Better for a date than a family outing, but they also serve breakfast which is cool. The food is so so as Italian goes, BUT Italian food is extremely personal and evocative so whats OK for me, might be outstanding for you.Outside seating is nice, but opening to a parking lot is not the best. But inside is like a small Italian cafe in any Italian neighborhood, just pretend Ralphs isnt right outside and youre good.
Our server was amazing. I visited for the first time on a Thursday, and was waiting for a friend whom I had not seen in years. The food was superb, and the attention to detail and compassion from our server as we sat chasing for a long time was remarkable. I would recommend this spot to anyone! Its a gem!
Great food and Antonio is the best. His service is always good. We went one morning at 9:00 for breakfast and I wanted spaghetti and thats what I got! You wont be disappointed.
Great food, great waitstaff.
Ive lived in Rancho San Diego for 25 years. This is my new favorite restaurant. They offer wonderful options. As a Health and Fitness Instructor I appreciate that they offer Organic greens and eggs. Great service too!
Ivan was our server and we had the white sea bass. It was fantastic!! Everything was great. We will come back again.
Very nice, glad we went. Started with the cheese and meat tray, delish varieties. The lamb chops were so good, and a healthy portion, sorry no pics because the presentation was appealing. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. Look forward to making this a regular dining experience.
Dolci is the cutest little Italian cafe on the east side. I love coming here for breakfast, ordering a coffee, crepes and opening a good book. The atmosphere is very relaxed and family owned. I prefer to sit on the patio and take my time. If you come for lunch or dinner I recommend the lasagna. My absolute favorite!
Calamari was rubber... the dont know how to cook it.. dont order..
I went there for my friend for her birthday and it was amazing. Their wine list was nicely mixed, the waiter could not be nicer or more polite. He told us about the specials that had that night and explain each one of them. when the food came out it looked absolutely amazing and it tasted even better. The restaurant was super clean and I could not ask for a better experience!
1st time at Dolci. We will be back! So many yummy choices on the menu. Friendly service and quick. Delicious
We went to Dolci Cafe for brunch on Sunday. We sat on their lovely covered patio. We had the chicken, artichoke, & arugula pizza, and the Nutella banana crepes. The food was exquisite, the wait staff attentive. The manager/owner stopped by our table, just to ask if we were enjoying our food. We will definitely be back soon. I think the music was a tiny bit too loud, but otherwise the atmosphere was perfect.
Amazing! 5 star service from Tony and even got introduced to the owner George who was equally as gracious. Tony is the best example of service that youll find. Then on to the food, from the Calamari to the braised Short Ribs & Wine, everything was exceptional! We will be back soon!
I like this venue a lot. there is a very nice atmosphere. The meals are exeptionaly good. the service is powerful and the personel is polite. The price is honest. truly recommend.
Very calm and welcoming atmosphere. Love the service and food. Im always treated well and the staff knows where I like to sit and what I like to order, even how I always take half of my order to go, including a refill of my coffee. I recently moved close by and I feel as if Ive been coming here for years. May Gods favor be upon this place and all the staff.AmenBelinda
Awesome place to grab dinner. Server Tony z does excellent job has great customer service. Will continue going back
They serve big portions and for affordable rates. super nice owner. Fantastic work.
Friendly staff and large portions of authentic Italian food, a prefect combination for a first visit. It wont be our last!
We love coming to Dolci!! The owner is so sweet and accommodating. She makes you feel like youre a guest in her home. I brought my mom here for mothers day brunch (last minute reservations)- and Sarah was able to accommodate us even on this crazy busy day. She really goes out of her way for others and it shows in how she runs the restaurant! The food was amazing! We had the dolci eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, and the all American breakfast plates. Delicious!!!!! I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a great ambiance and place to eat!
This is one of the cutest places to eat. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner (maybe even just dessert) it had a great selection of delicious farm to table food. I cant eat gluten and I have never had a problem with finding something to eat or accidentally getting glutened. The servers are lovely, the food is fantastic. The only downside is because of how good they are, they are often busy! Breakfast isnt as bad, but dinner can be a little bit of a wait. The prices are fair and I recommend this place to all my friends.
We really love Dolcis Cafe Italian for our go to for great food & service. We recommend to all our friends!
I was staying in Jamul last August and stopped in for lunch. The saffron cream sauce that was served with the black mussels was incredible. Almost a year later I was back in town again and visited twice during the week. The Belgian Waffles, Eggs Benedict, Americana Pizza, and of course the black mussels, all delicious and a surprisingly great value too. If you are looking for breakfast/lunch/brunch, do yourself a favor and stop in for some delicious and well priced food.
This is our staple Tues. night dinner date restaurant. Their staff is friendly and responsive and Tony is exceptional. We took our kids for lunch on a Sunday and they enjoyed Dolci, too. Looking forward to many more visits to this tasty and relaxing restaurant. Superb!
This place is so good! Great food, great coffee, the wait staff is very kind and attentive. My husband and I agree, this is our new favorite place. I got the Dolci Benedict and I was almost offended at how good it was. My husband got the wet burrito and kept eating even though he was stuffed. We loved the miele coffee too!
French toast was great
The bruschetta was really good
My wife and I had a late lunch there today. I had the 3 egg fritatta (with zucchini, onions, ham, and provolone cheese) and my wife had a seafood risotto. We shared a pistachio gelato. Both dishes were reasonably priced and the food was absolutely delicious. We will absolutely return
Great spot. Food is very fresh. Good variety to choose from as well.
The food was pretty good, and the service was excellent. We didnt have to wait for a table, even though it was Friday night. The food came out pretty quickly as well. It is just a little expensive for what you get, but I would definitely go back there again.
The food here is uniquely delicious. Everything is very fresh and full of flavor. I have had breakfast and dinners. All so very good.
Always friendly, casual atmosphere. Everything on the menu is great. Servers are friendly and make you feel at home. Careful with our sons nut allergy needs.
Delicious food, generous amount. Quiet atmosphere .not a large place, friendly casual dining . Some entrees can be pricey, but most reasonable.
The service was amazing! It was packed when we arrived and we never felt neglected. The food was delicious. And the gelato was so good, it was almost sinful.
So there i was looking for breakfast, and had almost given up hope and settled for Dennys... When I saw this place. I figured Italian coffee would be better than Dennys coffee and saw they were open for breakfast so I decided to drop in. The waiter on shift was Tony. He greeted and sat me immediately, and was very helpful with meal descriptions from the menu. I decided on the roast beef hash, which was slow roasted pulled beef, over country potatoes with eggs on top and hollandaise over it all. It was delicious. My coffee came with a carafe of steamed milk, and kept full. Its too bad this place doesnt come up on a Google search for breakfast, it deserves the business. Oh yeah. 13 bucks. Totally worth it.
Excellent service and food. Tony was especially accommodating and their clams in saffron sauce is something you should definitely try! Great neighborhood restaurant - love it.
Excellent food, service, and price. Oh, the price.... I cant believe the quality meal we got for the amount we paid. Definitely coming back and saving room for dessert. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
