Be aware of expiration dates. I purchased beer that tasted horrible and when I checked the date it has expired 3 years ago and hard liquor that was around $30 expired 6 years ago. It smells like a pet store from all the animals he has there. I would recommend shopping somewhere else.

Sometimes theres a dog there! 5 stars. Also good price, staffs nice, yadda yadda, but there is occasionally a dog there!!!!

Friendly workers but the place smells bad from cats !The owner is a big animal lover & theres cats everywhere & we all know what cats do & what it smells like when there are too many of them ! So you may want to hold your breath while youre there !

Best part lots of verity of wines, but the animals is a little to much. I refuse to go in, come out wanting to vomit. Two my husband just went to buy some beer and saw the cats laying on some bag of chips, he said there is no going back to this store 🤷🏻‍♀️. When the pandemic was getting better and things open up we got excited because we saw clean but not anymore. Sorry

I honestly have no idea how this store is still open. Buckets all over the store with BLACK water dripping from the ceiling. The buckets where over flowing so there was really just a massive puddle over the whole store, no sign saying to watch for water(granted its not hard to miss!) The store was super messy. The cashier was very rude.. the asile werent cleared between a ton of boxes and the buckets in the way, you have to walk side ways to get down most of of aisle to see even what they had (and no they werent stoking the store that was there displays just open boxes down all of the aisles). ALSO, dont get me started on the smell it had.. even with my n95 mask on, IT WAS HORRIBLE.They did have a huge wine selection though so if your able to look past everything else then this is the place to get wine.I personally will never go back.

The variety of products were great. The clerk was very friendly, and greeted us as we entered. It was easy to find what I was looking for. When we went to check out, the clerk was friendly and professional. The only issue I had was that the store was extremely musty. I have severe allergies and my friend has asthma. Even with PPE on, I found it difficult to breathe. I asked if they had flooding from the recent heavy rains that had many places in the area flooded. He replied no, it is just a very old building. He was correct. I dont remember it ever not being there. I hope they are able to fix the water damage in the future.

I like this place. Some dusty bottle goodness. Had absolutely everything.

I like this little shop, there is a wide selection and the prices are reasonable. It has a very townie vibe, mostly due to it being a longstanding dive liquor store.The smell takes some getting used to. They have cats somewhere in the store, and by the strength of the smell, they have had cats for a while...Im sure the cats are well loved by the local crowd, but it is off-putting for a newcomer.

Started going here recently because I started working out in Elgin. Unique selection of pretty much everything. Been back there a few times. Lots of good craft beer as well! Unique experience with the pets but I think its a fun atmosphere.

Its cool to stop here if youre looking for something to drink and youre in the area otherwise they got the bar right next door Hoppes I think its called. Its also cool if you like birds like parakeets and chicks they got plenty of f****** animals in there

Terrible service I had my ID and he wouldn’t let me purchase liquor because he said it didn’t look like me and he made me sit and write my signature out and he wouldn’t give my iD back and was just rude and terrible customer service I will never go back again.
