I purchased materials for for a DIY 10x16 barn style shed. The instructions for it makes no sense at all. They hand drew out the directions for the gables. Theirs no step by step directions for nothing, its just pictures. If I had known it was going to be likes this with the directions, I would if never went here. This company definitely doesnt know how to give you proper instructions on how to build things. so I was never offered to buy the nails or screws from company or a window or a door. Their customer service sucks. They are lucky they got a 3 star rating.

Finally found the laminate flooring I was searching for and got it at a great price and gave me phone numbers of contractors for installation. They also delivered it promptly and brought it into the house. Definitely would recommend this building supplier.

Had just what we were looking for & far cheaper than Lowes.

My husband has been buying building materials for YEARS at the Builders Discount in Elizabeth City, NC. I can only imagine how many thousands of dollars he has spent there! Well, thats stopping after today. He put a couple of 2x8s he had bought there in the back of his pickup truck to return them (not needed). The manager REFUSED to let him return one of the boards because the end was slightly damp from a VERY light drizzle on my husbands 10 minute drive there. Most important, when my husband spoke to the manager on duty (He later found it was Dyan Adams), he was appalled at how rude he was talked to! You would think a manager would exhibit better customer service than that! My husband tried calling the corporate office, but no one has returned his call. Guess hes stuck with a board he doesnt need. So, if youre looking to shop at Builders Discount, make sure you dont need to take anything back! You may be stuck with it.

We rebuilt our deck, new boards and support for hot tub. These guys were very helpful loading lumber and with questions. Very friendly and respectful. AND lumber is significantly less expensive than Lowes! Probably saved us 30% or more on our total.

Nice to shop, lots to choose from, lots of different price points, deck packages, stair packages, roofing, siding, flooring, lumber, windows, doors, counter tops, plywood. This place is drive in & load up, then drive out. Easy & convenient.

I went for the 1st time today. Everything was neat and clearly identified with signs. The workers were helpful and friendly. I think the materials are better quality than Lowes. Will definitely go there again. Im glad this store exists. The only suggestion I would give is for them to say thank you after we purchase from them. When I was paying the employee was in a conversation with the person behind me and just passed me the yellow receipt without even acknowledging me.

Selections were adequate but had to sift through a lot of sub par lumber. Prices a little cheaper than other lumber places. Workers on the floor were extremely helpful and courteous.

Sell Mobile Home parts and needs. Nice place set off side of road. Over by Biggs Auto repair. Prices a little cheeper in lumber than Lowe’s. Liked the fact they sale Mobile home items. Some you have to order so if you have parts numbers it helps but they have a Hugh catalog. Sale some tools. Drive in the building pick up your needs drive out. That is supper nice. People knowledgeable and nice to deal with.

Most items are decently priced when compare to Lowes, some of the lumber appear to be seconds but may not be an issue to some people.

Very cool place has all kinds of building. Supplys and kitchen cabinets too find what you need drive inside and the very helpful crew loads it up

Drove from Chesapeake to buy wood to build furniture with. As Im inspecting the wood, Im told theres a no picking policy. Really???? I dont buy fruit without inspecting it, Im sure not buying chewed up and bowed lumber to build my products out of. Ill go to the big box companies where the allow me to pick my wood.

(Never saw it before, but ours is great. And lots cheaper)1 error important to know.(Some customers are building & renovating in zone 4. Most counties are in Zone 3. The Village of South Mills & north Morgans Corner are right @ Gates where zone changes. Gates, Bertie and Hertford Counties are Zone 4 climate requiring thicker walls 6”, insulation in walls R19, floors R25-30 and ceilings R48-60)Storm windows work better out here then straight double pane. You can place inside storm glazing also.

Great products, best prices! I drove over an hour past several big box stores to pick up materials from them. I purchased about $1500 worth of PVC trim that would have cost me $2000 elsewhere. Worth the $500 bucks savings.

Could not return a primed interior door due to the fact it had one coat of white paint on it. Was no different than when purchased except a different shade of white. Poor attitude towards customers
