What can I say or better yet whats not to say about this place. The staff here are courteous and very helpful. The lot was very clean. I was shown several beautiful homes. I would recommend this place to family and friends the service here is just that amazing. So if youre in the market for a new home stop by Claytons. They will take very good care of you and your needs.

I have been very patient and just got feed up with the run arounds before the process even started. Our sales person literally said he didn’t know what to do. I’m just going to be honest if you want customer service questions answered and phone calls returned please find another place

I’ve had the worst experience ever working with Clayton homes in Newport News Virginia. First of all it took me five months to close with one of their preferred lender’s after closing it’s now almost 5 months later and I still don’t have a house on the foundation. They are just not honest. They don’t tell you the truth. They don’t do their homework. I’ve had five failed inspections because of them evidently not knowing the building codes where I’m building. They don’t apply for permits in a timely manner they wait right up until it’s time to do something before they apply for the permit and then they don’t apply for all the permits they need at one time. I closed on my house on October 11 and they did not apply for the permit until November 26 there was nothing done on my house until January 5 and In my original contract it said that I should be moving in my house by January 11th. They just don’t do things in a professional manner. If you are looking To purchase a modular home I would definitely not recommend Clayton Homes!

Horrible experience. My wife and I asked in the very beginning if we can do a land/home package in one loan. We werre assured we could and it wouldnt be a problem. We went through the ENTIRE process of picking the modular down to picking the color on walls and carpet. We already had a contract on the land, which was closing in a few weeks.(3). We went to submit the whole package to the supervisor and the same week, the company had a policy change and we couldnt do the loan we wanted to use. We had to do a new construction and put 20% down. Would not recommend! Unprofessional sales team and supervisors. Save your 6% for somewhere who deserves it.

Nice looking homes, but no one returns phone calls. Spoke to 4 different people with questions about options and was told I wouldbe called back. Never received a returned call, so after 2 months we gave up.

Nice staff willing to help. But when did mobile homes become so expensive? Almost every double wide on the lot was over $100k. Theres no advantage to buy one vs a house. You know mobile homes depreciate and homes dont, yet they cost about the same. UPDATE: Clayton Homes contacted me about the review. They say they have some double wide homes for under $100k, just not the size we wanted. So, do your homework and see whats best for you. In our case, a home works better as its about the same cost and we can build equity. Each persons needs are different though so give them an opportunity like we did.

We bought a home in 2015. To this day in 2019 we are finding issues with the quality of work that was done. All I have to say is steer clear. Look at all your options before deciding to build a modular with Clayton Homes. I wish I did.

Good afternoonI would like to start off with the time lineJanuary 31 2017 closed on landJune 16 2017 module deliveredJuly 5 notified that permits were pulled wrong through the city and had to be re done.July 31 I was told the footers would be started and it was never started.August 7 2017 still noting done.Called the corporate office and all they did was have the general manager call and give me an update.*****August 8 2017 told the weather was to bad and they might start work by the end of the week. No work done yet!!August 20th foundation was being worked on.******* September 18 2017*****My modular home has been setting outside in pieces for 2 months. There is 3 feet talk grass growing around it and bugs inside. Also the plastic wrap that is covering the sections of home are now beginning to leak and the walls and carpet padding are getting wet.My children now have to start the school year in one location and be move half way through the year. At this point I am not sure if theTo say the least it has not been a pleasant experience. Save your self the time a go with and different company. Someone who cares about their customers.Do not by a modular from them. Go get a home stick built and save your self the headache much better quality. The point of buying a modular was to have it built in a climate controlled area. But now my house has been setting in pieces since the middle of June. I just hope this can help someone else from making the same mistake hi
