John and his team did a fantastic job on our 2018 Hondas clutch. I was a service writer for years and this guy knows his stuff. He is super professional and the repairs were on time and so far seem to be done really well.

Great experience at a great price. John was up front and truthful. I checked in at 12:30 after dropping the car off at 8 and was given a diagnosis with a promise of a further inspection. I just wish I couldve gotten the diagnosis sooner instead of calling to find out, though I understand that the shop was very busy at the time. I will still utilize this business and refer them to everyone in the future.

Ive been in twice; once about 6 years ago for a factory defect repair on my transfer case (2005 Tahoe), and Aug 2021 for an A/C check and recharge (2010 Honda Civic). They are busy, which is a good thing, but turn your vehicle around in a reasonable time and for a reasonable price. Most things I can do myself, but when I cant Ill take my vehicle here.

John is pretty awesome. Ive been coming here for a while now. My catalytic converter unfortunately got stolen recently. He did a great job working with the insurance company to get my car back on the road asap. Hes always professional and stays in communication. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else!

I am very picky when it comes to auto shops. My car broke down and they had me back up and running in 2 days! I like the text feature they use that was very convenient. I got my car back and its running great.

John was very professional and knowledgeable about the transmission repair my Corolla required, as well as catching other work my car needed that somehow got overlooked from the usual dealership techs. So far the car is doing well and runs like it used to thankfully! He even threw in a free air filter change without question, thanks John!

My Monday morning was about to be awful. My car stopped off Sheldon with what I worried was transmission trouble. After waiting 2 hrs for a tow, I had the pleasure of meeting the staff at EG Transmission. After worrying it may possibly cost me $4500, turned out it was an axle and $400! So happy. I had called no fewer than 10 places about renting a car, couldnt find one anywhere, but they had my car ready in 5 hrs! They received the car at 10:30 am and it was ready by 3:30 pm! They were so professional and I know did what they could to get me out of there quickly. I plan to use them for any future issues and cannot compliment them enough for the excellent service I received.

I had an alternator problem with my car. They diagnosed it quickly and got the work done quickly also. My car is running better than before. Thank you guys for taking care of my car in a prompt manner.

Great place! We brought our car because of a few dash lights that were coming on. Although they were unable to resolve the problem (this had nothing to do with their technical abilities, but because of the specific error codes that were only able to be addressed by the manufacturer), they still provided a very friendly and professional experience. Another important this they shouldnt go unnoticed is that inside their lobby you can find a candy machine with a crazy awesome selection!

The transmission in my 1961 Cadillac would not shift out of 1st gear, so I towed it in to EG Muffler & Tranmission, they havd it fixed up for less than half the cost I was expecting, in much less than half the time. Very high recommendation for all makes and models.

My truck had multiple warnings lights on. The original diagnosis was possible transmission issues. They tracked down several wiring issues. Replaced a wiring harness. It wasn’t an easy or cheap fix but better than a new transmission. Highly recommend them.

This is a long overdue review for John and his team at Elk Grove Transmission. I tried EG Transmission after having a complex issue that the local dealer could not diagnose. John diagnosed the problem quickly and at fixed it at a fair price. The team is knowledgeable and honest. If something needs repairing they will say so but I’ve had a couple times where I asked them to check out certain fluids and they told the fluid is very clean and no need to spend the money. My number one reason for using EG Transmission is because I feel they are among the most knowledgeable mechanics I’ve ever used. Though I’m not a mechanic, I do my home work about what is likely wrong with the vehicle and sure enough John will mention some seemingly small detail pertaining to that repair that I read about and it’s unique to successfully repairing my particular make and model. Knowledge is king... trust your car with these guys.

Ive used this shop for years, they have always provided quality automotive repair at a fair price. Courteous, fast and efficient are other terms I would use about their staff. They backup their work with superior service, honest and ethical. Once you find a shop like this, you can stop looking elsewhere. Ive been bringing my vehicles to them for at least 10 years. I have been to this shop many times. They always do a good job and never try to sell additional services. When I have taken my vehicle in with what I thought was a problem, they inspect it and if they find its ok, they dont try to sell me something I dont need. They are very honest. I trust them with all my vehicles.

Cannot recommend them to anyone. They dont check their work before they give it to customer. You have to go back and tell them you noticed that the gears werent even aligned right. I find that so Disturbing.
