They came out as expected and Matt spent the first few minutes talking with me. It was good that there was no real need for me to be at the house when Matt serviced my generator but I wanted to anyway. I received the maintenance report shortly after his visit. The only thing that would have made this a 5 star is if I could have received a time frame for the service instead of just the day of the service.

Installed generator for home. From first contact to installation took 26 days. Answered several questions and were upfront with pricing. The price was thousands cheaper than home advisor, who in the end told me their wasnt an installer available.

So far Ive only received a quote, but I was impressed by how knowledgeable Mr. Anderson was. Since I have both solar panels and an electric car, my installation is a little more complex then most. He seemed to really know his stuff.I compared bids and Midwest had the lowest and most complete bid. For example they handled all the interaction with the gas company in case I need a larger meter. The other bid left that up to me. I had them install a generator and it was a smooth operation. The technicians were a pleasure to work with.

The installation was incredibly well run - the crew that came out was very polite and professional - they kept a clean job site and everything looked great when they were done. 2020 and I have more time to fix this issue. I have already closed off the window that the exhaust was pointing at with the fresh air intake to our furnace. Now I have added an exhaust pipe to take the exhaust away from the house and out to the driveway. It took all of an hour and Midwest Electric & Generator could have done that years ago rather than first deny they installed the generator facing a vent to our basement and that the window in the 100 + year old house was not there when they installed it (until we sent them pictures showing them installing it).If you dont get to my original review here is the short version. After it was installed we lost power for over a week in the hottest part of summer. Neighbours used our refrigerator and we had kids over for a movie in our finished basement with AC on. It was at this time that are carbon monoxide alarms went off. We rushed the kids out and shut off the generator. At that time we had no idea that they had installed it with the exhaust less than 2 feet from our fresh air intake into the basement. Thankful the alarms worked and kids were not harmed.Original Review:Midwest installed the generator with the exhaust facing our fresh air intake to the basement. When the power went off and the generator started and carbon monoxide started filling the basement. Alarms saved the lives of our children. So glad we had the alarm and it worked. We have seen this mistake on other homes - please check if you have one.Update:Thank you for your response, we did not see it on this thread until now and did not receive messages from you on our phones. We have photographs of the install and we posted them with our original review. Please notice them. Though we have remodeled our house the intake to the furnace has always been there and is clearly visible in the install photos with your workmen present. Your first response to avoid responsibilities when your client was in danger baffles us. I have reached out in text and email and hope you can respond and reinstall or remove the generator with a refund. Our contractor maintains that the generator installed as it is poses a significant risk. Can you fix this mistake? I look forward to hearing from you with the contact information that you have.

They leveled a space for the concrete pad, placed the generator and hooked it up to the gas line, and did a bunch of complicated electrician stuff that works like magic. They demonstrated it in operation and showed me how it would behave. Ryan also explained to me how to get signed up, how to get the mobile app for my phone, and all that.Overall this was a great experience. Im in awe of having such a nice piece of equipment to protect us when power outages happen. And so grateful to have such a good company to stand behind it and provide maintenance and care to ensure its continued smooth operation. Awesome team!

Nick B did a great job checking a yearly diagnostic of my generator. He was very polite with my questions and responded with the right answers.

I watched Nick as he performed our annual service. He brought everything he needed from the truck to the generator in one trip. Performed the service quickly and thoroughly. The service was great.However, I did not like the scheduling aspect from Midwest. The service scheduled was open ended anytime during the day. Nick showed up at about 5pm after we waited all day for him to arrive. I think a 2 hour window should have been scheduled rather than open ended all day.

I gave Midwest Electric five stars because they were professional, responsive and easy to work with. Kyle was on time and kept me updated on the progress of the work. I didnt have to ask him to wear a mask or remove his boots when he came into the house.I was very happy with this company.

I had a meeting setup for a morning facetime that I never recieved a call. I contacted them and they wanted to reschedule the meeting after I made the appointment a month prior. I got an estimate from another company and thought I should try and reach out to MN Generator again to give them another chance. They called me the next day we did a facetime meeting John was great explained everything in detail to me and the best part is they came in $4k under the other quote I got and they are a one stop shop with the installation on the generator.
