James is such a professional and fit me in on short notice and worked with me to prioritize my repairs with my limited budget. He is so knowledgeable and understands when you have to pick/choose repairs. He got my car back on the road and his charges were beyond fair. I wish I could give more stars. As long as I’m in the Elkhart area, I don’t think I’ll ever take my car anywhere else to get work done. FMK Automotive is trustworthy, genuine, honest, and fairly priced. I drive an older Volvo and had been experiencing a weird clunking sound for a while and decided to get it fixed. I moved to Elkhart recently, so I had no clue where to take my car. I called multiple “bigger’ auto repair places, most of which shooed me away because they couldn’t work on a Volvo, but the rest either offered outrageous repair estimates, couldn’t fit me into the schedule, or had ridiculous diagnostic fees. The best choice I ever made was calling FMK. It is annoyingly difficult to find a mechanic that works on European cars, but James worked me into the schedule and got my car back to me the same day. The pricing was extremely fair, but what I appreciated most was the clear passion James has for fixing cars. He took the time to walk me through everything that was getting fixed, and actually took me into the garage and used my own vehicle to educate me. Also, they have great hours. Most small businesses are not open on weekends, but the Saturday hours were what set FMK apart from the competition. I left FMK with a completely sound car, confidence in my decision to trust James with my vehicle, and knowledge about the repairs that were done so I can be more informed in the future. I cannot recommend FMK Auto enough. Support an exceptional family owned and operated family business, you won’t regret it!
