Dave was super helpful and gave a quick on-the-spot estimate, tracked down cost-effective parts and kept me in the loop with updates as the repair went underway. We had a dented hood/fender/grill on our car and it looks like new again. Paint match is perfect. Would highly recommend!

I searched high and low for an auto body shop to repair some dents in the hood of my Mercedes SL55 (which is a car that I cherish greatly!). I interviewed a number of body shops primarily out of concern for the quality of work to be performed. (I have used body repair shops a number of times in the past and the quality and cost of their work has varied all over the place!) My experience has been that smaller shops with low overhead and staffed with old pros are far and away the best shops to deal with.After talking with Dave (the owner of Encinitas Autobody Repair) for about 20 minutes, I realized that this is the place to get my car repaired!! Specifically, Dave is old school which, in the context of auto body repair, means that he is not going to take the short cuts that newer auto body repair shops use to enhance their profit. (These short cuts invariably come back to haunt you in the future!!) More importantly, Dave is a no pressure guy so he wont try to upsell you to do more work than needs to be done. (Two of the body shops that I spoke with prior to Dave wanted me to do a lot more work to make my 2008 car look like it came out of the showroom!!) In fact, when Dave quoted me a price for my repair, he suggested that I get quotes from other body shops so that I could see that his quote was very reasonable!!When I came to pick up my car, I was in awe of how good the repairs were!! Dave managed to match the paint perfectly and completely erased any sign of the damage. I would challenge anyone to find where the hood and fender were dented!!The only nit I have is that the job took longer than I expected but it was well worth the additional time.As a rule, I have seldom given good ratings for anything auto repair related because I have been disappointed on so many occasions!! However, in this case, I am making an exception because Daves work exceeded my expectations.Seriously, if you are looking for an auto body repair shop that does great work at reasonable prices, this is the place!! (And, no, I am not getting any reward for writing this review!!)

My window’s regulator broke completely leaving me with my window completely down. Panicked I went to Encinitas auto body where they patched my window up so it could at least close, for no charge, while being super friendly and professional the whole time. Anytime something goes wrong with my car I will definately be bringing it to them 👍🏻

Wow! What a breath of fresh air. This guy is old-school, and what I mean is he was honest, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. I told my wife, its like the movie, Miracle of 34th Street, where the owner of the store starts a campaign that puts the customer first, even at the expense of a quick profit. Why? The owner had my review removed. I paid for the repairs (I have a credit card receipt & statement to prove this, so the owner saying the insurance did means he would have had to charge twice which is fraud) on the vehicle and communicated on them so I was very much represented in this transaction. I am amazed this place gets good reviews. I could leave numerous regarding the unprofessional, ever changing communication provided here. And I will.To start, the first call with Dave. He stated estimate would be $1400-$1500 and that he had already sent estimate to my insurance. When I called back to follow up on him sending to me- he said he never did and it was closer to $4700!!! When attempting to get understanding of why he lied, he eventually said: whats your pointHe is very unprofessional and rude. After the vehicle was past due, he informed us the parts werent in. Should have notified if this prior. I then went to the location to ensure parts were there and the vehicle was actually being repaired at which time he refused me to see the progress.Then upon pick up, the repairs were not even finished!!! And he didnt bother to advise that, accepted my payment (overpriced!!!!). We had to identify the issues.Literally the worst experience and service I have ever had. And seeing the place with only one person working explains why they took so long

Awesome experience. Owner was super nice and professional, very affordable prices, took it next door for a smog check for me, and even removed a scratch for free! No wait time and quick service when i took it in at 9:30am. Will continue using them in the future.

Dave is the best. Heard of his #1 Customer Service but my experience was better! Went in on a Saturday and he said to come back on SUNDAY. My bumper was fixed the next day while I WAS GETTING COFFEE! The bar is set high. Did I mention that it was below what I was expecting to pay?

I highly recommend Dave! I came to him right after I got in an accident and he was so helpful. He looked over my car, gave me great advice and got my car in drivable shape without even charging me for his help. He’s a good man and I would trust him with any car work moving forward.

Dave was absolutely wonderful, he is very confident and diligent in his work. He pays close attention to detail. He re assured me that my truck would look and run exactly how it did before my accident, and the results were fantastic. I hate dealing with car stuff. Not so much because I mind the actual mechanics of it all; rather, the industry seems packed with smoke and mirrors, questionable practices, and hit/miss workmanship. Not here though. This place is legit. The owner (Dave) was transparent, communicated well, and did what he said he would do (quite well too!). It was an incredibly refreshing experience, actually makes me look forward to the next time I ding my bumper ;)

This is the best body shop anyone can go to. Very nice staff! Solved my cosmetic scratch in 10 minutes for a very affordable price. I will continue to recommend this location to anyone who needs it!

It was so nice to deal with someone who really cares. Dave was honest and did very nice work. We would certainly use him again if needed and would definitely recommend him.

David is an outstanding man and also great at doing his job in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. One other thing I appreciate about David is that he doesnt take advantage ever - If some work is just not worth doing as a practical matter he never encourages a customer to do it just so he can make money:-)

The only body shop that actually listened to what I wanted, and offered a fair estimate (everyone else insisted I needed more work at a much higher cost). These guys are laid back and cool, and they do great work. Id give them more then 5 stars if I could. Final price was exactly = to estimate. Amount of time it took to fix was fine. Thumbs up.

Great customer service and pricing

This place is a MUST! Dave was beyond helpful and took care of everything I needed in under 5 minutes. I could not have asked for a better spot to help me out with my car. I will never consider another shop again. TIP: Go behind bonafide provisions, theyre in the back, it may be hard to see from the road.

Just a note to say thank you to Dave for restoring my faith in auto repair shops. It IS possible to find someone who deals fairly and honestly with you! This is the second time Ive visited Encinitas Auto Body. I received the same courteous, informative treatment both times - coupled with good communication. Might I also mention that this time they actually brought the repair in under the amount they quoted to me?

This guy is pure class. I showed him some scratches on my car and he said that I probably didnt need to fix it since it was a lease and they probably would let it go on a trade in. That strategy worked beautifully and I saved hundreds of dollars. How many auto body shops would actually tell you this kind of information? Awesome.

Took the wifes volt here. Originally seemed like a nice guy but when we questioned him about a few things we noticed when we picked up the car he got very angry and said wed see him in small claims court. What a jerk.They clearly did some damage to the interior. One of the exterior panels doesnt line up on the side he repaired. You can see the difference from the factory side. Id never go back here.

Nothing short of fantastic for my experience with Dave and his crew. Bumpers look great and the chipped door handle and door look like they came out of the factory. The price was right and the service was great! Support the local guys who have been painting cars for years.
