Really bad customer service from the store manager Jesse. He really doesnt seem to care about helping customers and will not go out of his way to do you any favors. Save yourself gas, time and money and just order everything from Amazon, its so much more convenient.

So good to be in a bookstore, a Barnes & Noble, bookstore again. Found favorite authors and new authors to expand my reading enjoyment. Come on Barnes & Noble, reopen your previous site in Prescott, Arizona mall; the population has grown in this town.

I usually enjoy Barnes and Noble but they remodeled this store with a number of dead end sections. Not sure if it was for security or somebodies idea of interior design, but it is horrid. You cant get there from here.

This particular Barnes & Noble has a huge section of manga! My friend and I happened to be in the area and were super thrilled to see such a diverse collection of titles to choose from - especially compared to other B&Ns. Specifically, there’s a much larger amount of LGBT+ / BL titles available. It was great to see a vast amount of series with each volume available. Super happy!

I love Barnes & Noble... You know its so easy to get lost looking at books and browsing. This is close to my home and if you are a member you get extra savings throughout the year and the shipping is a good deal too especially now.

Employees are helpful if you are looking for a specific book or author. They are also friendly, making suggestions about similar items or books they love. They have a great toy section, also learning games for kids. And adults. I can spend hours just browsing.

Very nice staff, my son wanted a book and two staff members were helping him and searching all the time for what he needed. I would definately give them 5 stars.

Called and they saved the book at the register for me. Walked in and purchased. Very convenient and fast. Great service.

I love the staff notes under some books, with reviews and recommendations. They are usually spot on with what they have to say. I like science fiction and fantasy, and they have a pretty good selection of books in those genres.

This is a classic book store, large selection, and a Starbucks inside.

This bookstore has very friendly staff, including the cashier. And a large record store area.A Starbucks is next door to the Barnes and noble that has good coffee.A large selection of books is available at the Encinitas location from historical to coffee table to biographies.

Many book options and relaxing atmosphere. Theres even a coffee place next to it. Prices are a bit high but if you love books this is a good place to visit

This bookstore is wonderful. It has a lot of everything - travel books, gorgeous cookbooks, the latest novels and non-fiction, and a cozy kids section upstairs. I loved the armchairs upstairs, where my 5-year-old daughter and I could sit for a little while and read quietly. The interior is also nice - high ceilings, brick walls. It is my favorite bookstore in Encinitas.

I understand the need for limited hours and curbside pickup during the shelter in place. What is terrible customer service is ordering a book online for in store/ curbside pick up and then having NO information on available times for pickup. No one answering the phones and even though the store has people inside, no one able to walk your books outside. They told me to sit in my car and call the store, which I did and no one answered. This is a worse experience than if they would have just shut down completely. Terrible decision on either Encinitas store management or B&N Corporate

Nice bookstore. If you cant find the book title youre looking for, they can order it for you P.O.D. Thats Print on demand. Im guessing most bookstores cant accommodate the number of new books available.

In addition to being my absolute favorite store, this Barnes and Noble is superior. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, the store is always clean, and the staff is very helpful! I always have a great experience weather Im browsing or buying. I highly recommend coming to the Encinitas Barnes and Noble!

Every single person in this store that I interacted with was nice, friendly, and very helpful. I didnt catch his name but there was a guy in the CD/vinyl/DVD section who was went above and beyond in recommendations and showing my girlfriend and I what CDs were on sale. I really regret not getting his name because Id love to tell his manager how great he was.

Good, comprehensive selections at this bookstore. Comfortable chairs and no one pressures you to buy or move on. Theres a music section and a children books section. Benches for browsing near the magazines. Theres also a Starbucks adjoining. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

Look, I really love the idea of a bookstoreI really do. But it is hard to find stuff here and the cashier lines are sometimes daunting. But you gotta support a bookstore once in a while.

Bigger than my local store.

I can always come in here, pick out a book, and read. Many chairs in secluded areas for you to read quietly. There is a Starbucks inside the store, which is even better since you can quell your caffeine fueled rage with a novel or use that rage to study intensely. The people who work is both the Starbucks and the main store are very friendly and add to the whole experience. Sadly there isnt too many people rummaging through the store, so get in there and read!

Great large store.

As bookstores go this is probably one of the best you will find. They have a Starbucks inside with outdoor seating. This is a large store and there is a help desk. Couches and large chairs are available for reading.

Ive been shopping here for years now when I need the occasional physical copy of a book, great family board game ideas, or knick knack gifts the younger generation of my family and I can always rely on this store not necessarily having what I need but something I can discover that I want. This store even has a new display called a blind book with a date that had me head over heels to come back. Its where you buy a relatively inexpensive but completely covered book so that all you can see is a paper wrapping with a description of a few attributes of the book. This way, you are given some hints at what the book is about, without the issue of indecision finding a new book to read. I highly recommend this bookstore. Oh, and theres a Starbucks next door which is great to read you books at while sipping on a nice, hot drink.

Disappointed. They have a new policy about ordering online and picking up in store but was given the runaround even though they had big signs up explaining about ordering online. Worker told me management instructed them not to be open about online orders and in store pick up. Shameful. Decided to order from Amazon and get it tomorrow for less. And they wonder why they are losing so much business.

Barnes & Noble. Big box store with all the pinache of a....well, big box bookstore. Its no Warwicks (La Jolla, CA); thats for sure, but it is a good place to get some assorted items like notebooks, pads & pencils and such. I recall a day when I really loved spending hours browsing in these stores, but not that much anymore. Im giving it 3-stars...because they try.

The staff here is so friendly! If I cant find something or if they do not have a book I want in stock, they will happily order it for me. The only complaint that I have about this store is the lack of seating. I always end up sitting at the seating near Starbucks when I would much rather sit in a comfy chair.

I love a Brain-cation, thats what barnes and nobles is. The selections are always wonderfully stocked. They offer great gift ideas for real for babies to 101 years old. The staffs great and knowledgable love them

Its got a Starbucks next door, so thats nice. Good collection of not just books. For example, an homage to Studio Ghibli, etc. It has the retail markup, so get the BNN card for 10-20% off.

Definitely one of my top 3 favorite Barnes and Noble bookstores in San Diego County, speaking as one who has gone to Chula Vista, Santee, Carlsbad, Escondido, Mira Mesa, Mission Valley, Encinitas, La Mesa, and Carmel Mountain. I made an effort to visit them all. This location gets top marks for selection. I loved how much variety I found, and they also have great writers gifts. I snagged travel books, history, self-help, business and fiction here because of the great finds, spending more than I have for awhile! Theres helpful friendly staff at the counter and I saw one woman very attentively helping a customer find their missing book selection.

Selections are ok. Clean store small store with Starbucks no bathroom the Starbucks has 1 and you cant sit on the floor if you check out a book you want to buy.Some of books still out of date make sure to check the year if you need them to be relevant as a coding or medical reference the book could be ten years out of date online there will be updated versions.

Books are overpriced as they refuse to price match their own website! A book I was trying to buy was 3x cheaper online compared to in-store and the manager told me if I wanted that price I would have to buy it online and wait 30 minutes for it to process. No wonder bookstores are going out of business. Poor customer service and backwards policies in place.

Still well kept and full of people reading and browsing. Large section of games and toys. Smaller section of music and videos.

Everything is well organized and established with a kind staff. The starbucks next door is a bonus.

I really like their Childrens Section. They have a wooden train set for the kids to play with and they do story times every Wednesday at 10 am and every Saturday at 11 am
