Wish I could give zero stars. Product represented as their product is actually a Chinese company that sells on Amazon called Easelife. He takes your money and orders from Amazon to ship directly for you. I might add at more than twice the cost. If you want to return, he charges 25% restocking fee. In another review response here, he says the restocking fee is to cover his time and effort for packing up and shipping the process. Funny that it is Amazon doing his work. So for a $280 product, charges $70 to return. Only cost him $106 on Amazon. He then probably sells the return on the Clearance section of his website. His other comment to me was We buy and ship from 3 vendors... like other businesses buy for one price and sell for another. Right but honest businesses dont represent the product as theirs and ship from another retailer. Super shady... Buyer beware.

I purchased a double bypass barn door hardware kit. When I installed it I felt the quality was cheap. I’ve installed barn door kits before and expected more for the price I paid. The website states that 2 floor guides are included in the double bypass kits, however I only received one. That’s when Jon Whaley was really revealed to me. My emails and phone calls went unanswered for about 2 weeks. Phone calls always go right to voicemail and the mailbox is always full. Eventually, I pushed enough to elicit a reply. All I got was an excuse that I was only supposed to receive one guide. I screenshot the page from their website stating it should include 2. Of course, no reply. I even offered to buy the part I should’ve received in the first place. No response. At that point I tried to buy one online. In my search I found Penson & Co. They are the same company that was printed all over the box I received from The Barn Door Hardware Store. You can buy the same items directly from them for much less. They even have the same product pictures on their website. I tried to buy the guide from them directly, but without an order # (since I didn’t buy from them) they couldn’t locate the exact part I need. By the way they are a Chinese company! So be aware of the cheap products and ultra poor customer service you’ll get from The Barn Door Hardware Store.

These barn door kits are far too expensive for the quality. You can find the exact same items for more than half the price most other places. Do yourself a favor and keep looking for better pricing. Most times you get what you pay for. In this case, you overpay for basic materials.

Ordered a single sliding kit with outside and inside pull handles. Got the door hardware kit, but no handles came. Sent them an email but got no response. Tried calling them, but voicemail picks up and says leave a message, however, the mailbox is full so I cant even leave a message. How convenient! Beware of this company! Really shady that they dont even list their phone number on their web site. Had to find it on google. Wish I could give them zero stars due to their very poor customer service!

BUYER BEWARE!!! It’s clear barn door hardware can be found anywhere for under $200. I chose this company because it appeared they specialized in this area. I bought a set for nearly $500 and based off the description thought it came with the doors. I was so disappointed and shocked to see I paid $500 JUST for the hardware 😣. Same day I reached out to the company but they wanted to charge a 25% restocking fee. Again the restocking fee just to return is the same price to just buy hardware from a competitor so that didn’t make sense. I held onto the set, never opened the box, and waited for a bigger project worth this “extremely expensive hardware” We had just purchase a $400,000 property, built doors and for the first time opened the box. We were APPALLED to see we paid nearly $500 for UNFINISHED raw steel. I can’t even use the handles because they are marked in plain sight huge “CHINA” this company brags about being made in USA but they use CHINA parts. My husband said he could have built this same exact kit for $40!! When reaching out to the owner he offered absolutely no help but bragged how he sells 1000’s of these without complaints. Meanwhile I see the same set I ordered now selling on his website for less than 300. I feel like he is a crook who took our money, provided a low quality product, and doesn’t have enough pride in his business to do the right thing despite multiple emails and attempts over 3 years to do the right thing. Very disappointed! Save your money and shop elsewhere. I’m a Realtor and real estate investor and have seen many similar products installed for a fraction of the price that are MUCH higher quality!UPDATE:After reviewing the owners response I want to clarify inaccuracies proving the type of owner and customer service this company provides.1. I never purchased any hardware other than the $468 hardware I bought from him. I initially bought them for an inexpensive property but after realizing they didn’t come with doors I saved them for the $400,000 home. I expressed that in the email and in the review above2. His company is NOT the only company that sells “Single bypass doors” they are available through competitors.3. His restocking fee costs more than buying a brand new set from a competitor4. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that these truly were extremely good quality for the price until 2 years later I opened the box because I had a luxury property to use them on and found out they are junk, made in China parts, and unfinished. Who pays $500 for unfinished metal? I did! Accidentally not knowing better and the seller has offered no proper resolution other than calling me a “vindictive slew, “a scam”, “and telling me I must be strapped for cash that I’m trying to return them” I clearly am not willing to pay the high costs to return ($150) but I would have appreciated a credit to my account for maybe 10-20% for this aweful product and the fact I have not been able to use it in two projects and that the quality did not meet the photos advertised. I communicated with him multiple times over 2 years prior to leaving a bad review to warn other people

Although the product seems to work ok. The customer service is non existent. If you call the number you will get a VM that lists all the companies this owner does and the voicemail is full. I just needed a paid invoice for a tax audit. Not a good way to do business!!!!

Garbage. Product says Made in USA but not actually made in USA its just packed here. Terrible business that looks like a fake operation when looking close. Just found out the person running the business Jon Whaley is being sued for trying to steal the business from the real owner. Just google jon whaley lawsuit and you will see everything.
