Walked in on a Saturday afternoon. There was a few customers inside. An older gentleman was busy with customers. A very young guy who also send to being to the store also. A guy in his 30s in uniform was having an amazing chat with some guy seemed to be a customer. I was there for about 5 minutes but he didnt even look at me, just laughing and having a good time. I prefer not to be in inside places long especially when a few other people were close quarters to me, so i left. It would be nice if customers would be priority. Too bad. Was looking for a bike.

One of the best bike shops ever. I live 5 states away and still order/ buy from this shop and always will. The shipping and wait is worth what this place offers. He will always meet yourNeeds, whether it’s size, level of expertise,price point, etc... they ask questions and dial you into exactly what your looking for. They truly care about the quality of goods and services they provide.I buy from here because I trust Matt, he always backs his Products and offers real service. I have never had a warranty issue he couldn’t resolve. He also rewards faithful and repeat customers.Not to mention I worked for him for over a year when a young lad. He truly cares about people, his community, and the city. He was and still is an amazing mentor. One of the hearts of Escanaba!! Even if I was in Marquette, I would use this shop over Any in the Upper Peninsula!! Let alone I’m in Colorado and still order through Mr. Bike! 🚲

Ive been buying my bikes, skis, and used to buy my rollerblades and kayaks from Mr Bike, Ski and Fitness for 34 years, and never had anything but a positive experience. They are the social workers of the bike business. They treat you with kindness and love. The quality of their products is outstanding, and their maintenance to my equipment is absolutely superior. I love that store and its employees.

I was recommended to go here for sunglasses. Bought a nice pair of Oakleys. The staff was all super nice and helpful. They all have a full store of high tech bike gear and accessories

Went in to have a tube replaced and they got it done quick and relatively cheap. They have lots of merchandise, a lot of it is quite pricey, but hey they got a shop to run, I get it. Friendly and helpful staff.

Last month during our stay at home, our daughter learned to ride a two wheeler on a borrowed bike. The bike was then returned to the owner and she was super sad. I contacted Matt at Mr. Bike on a Sunday. He responded immediately and made a special appointment to have me come in and look for a replacement. With masks on, safety etiquette in place and an awesome album rocking on repeat since mid March, he helped me find a used starter bike. Matt knew that she was fit for a bit larger bike but agreed that her confidence would build faster on this smaller frame. After two weeks cruising on the refurb, we were both back in his shop for the reopening to purchase a brand new 7 speed purple peddler with handbrakes and basket. I may have accidentally sat on a sweet metallic brown cruiser that fit me all too well while waiting for that basket to be installed. Matt and Mickey and Garret were all so gracious and helpful that we both rolled out the back through the alley and down to the park on our sweet new bikes. Thanks Mr. Bike and Ski, these rad rides will take our family to all the greatest places in the world, right here in the UP!

Bought a pair of snowboard boots for my six-year-old... Staff was super knowledgeable and helped us make a good selection... Price was reasonable as well.

What a great shop. Mickey and Matt are exceptional to work with. I had recently purchased a bike off Craig’s list and they were so thorough without being pushy. I did a full fitting with Matt and he was so patient with me (new rider) and I never felt like he was pushing me to buy/add more to my bike. I don’t live in town, so I’m sorry i won’t be able to visit there more often but look forward to stopping by when we are in town again!

6/5 stars. Staff was extremely genuine and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond when I got stranded; upon driving the repair supplies eight miles (no delivery charge, only kindness) so I could continue with my tour, they also brought coffee and bagels. Not only are they effective bike experts, they are kind human beings with whom I thoroughly enjoyed doing business.

Very friendly and beyond helpful staff. Mickey was a treasure trove of information about local roads, sight seeing and food stops. I am very grateful to have received help on my way to Munising on a bicycle.

My husband and I live in Chicago and vacation in Escanaba in the summers. We have gotten to know Matt and his crew over the past 10 years and love working with them. Matt is very knowledgeable about road bikes, excellent at fittings and very responsive whenever I need anything. I just bought a new Trek carbon bike from him — much rather give him the business than someone in Chicago. Just can’t say enough great things about Matt, the store and the work he does.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. My friend and I stopped at the shop about a quarter of the way into a bike tour around lake Michigan in need of some help and we were floored by their great service. We ran into some trouble later with our tires and were a bit stranded just outside of town on a Sunday. With all the bike stores being closed we thought we might be stuck for a day, but we reached out to them online and they were happy to drive some tires to us that morning and send us on our way. Hopefully Ill be able to do business with them again!

We were passing through town and needed a bike fixed up- they dropped what they were doing and helped us get a tube in my daughters tire. Super helpful and even fitted the kids for helmets while we waited. Very nice store and great customer service!

Incredible people. We were on a bike tour and my friends knee hurt, so he went to Mr. Bike for advice and adjustments. What followed was pure glory:-they made bike adjustments that remedied his issue-they drove 10+ miles to our campground to make adjustments and fixes to other peoples bikes-the brought us dinner and 2 six-packs of beer-they gave us route recommendations as we traveled into unknown territorythese guys basically helped us--four strangers--in an unfamiliar campground for 2 hours while feeding us delicious food and beer. they love their job and we love them. A++++++++.

We are riding across country, and our bikes desperately needed work. Matt and his crew were amazing! They answered our questions before we even arrived in Escanaba, Matt welcomed us personally at the door, and the work they did on our bikes was phenomenal! For anyone riding long distance--or just across town, Mr Bike is the place to go for great service, wonderful people, and answers to any and all questions bike related.

These guys are so nice its hard to describe - they know more about bikes, riding, and fit than anybody Ive ever met. They drove out to our campsite 5 miles outside of town to fix our bikes free of charge, brought us dinner and six packs. They refused to charge us for the work and just could not have been more generous with their time for us. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

No question this is a fun place to shop. Mr. Bike is like going back in time when you felt like a kid. The owner and his family are all like big kids with warm fun personalities. When it come to experts you can rest easy. These guys have lots of inventory and lots of experience. They are the best.

We came through on a cross country bike tour and got great service. We called ahead and they got all the parts for a full 3k mi service on two tandems before we arrived. They did the work super fast and the results were amazing.

The folks at this shop are the cream of the crop. I broke my fork on a bike tour and if it werent for Mr. Bike, Ski and Fitness you couldve put a fork IN me cause I was done. Before they overnighted a new one, Stephan checked with his friends and other bike shops all over the UP to see if he could find one. Ended up ordering one and we had it fixed in the shop the next day. Special thanks to Mickey for overseeing the shipping logistics, and Matt for being a great shop owner who has created a dynamite shop culture in a beautiful corner of the earth. My girlfriend and I were camping an hour away and my bike broke to the point where I wasnt able to ride it. We drove to escanaba hoping they would have a part to fix it. Unfortunately they did not but what they did have was a spare bike to lend me for the remainder of our vacation while the parts came in. Words cant explain how helpful the owner and his son were to us. Without them we would not have been able to ride together for the remainder of our vacation. Well worth the drive!!!P.S. My girlfriend loves the Oakley sunglasses i bought from you guys!

Sprinting lacrosse the country at 85 miles per day a chain was having trouble. Extremely knowledgeable staff, jumped on the problem and had me going in no time. Extremely knowledgeable. Very nice folks.

These guys are awesome!My son and I embarked on an ambitious bike trip this past summer that started in the Chicago suburbs and was to end there too after going around Lake Michigan. We stopped in Escanaba, MI after that particular days ride. Since I was getting low on tubes and had discovered that my pump was now missing a seal after its last use, I decided to see if there was a Bike Shop in the area. As luck would have it Mr. Bike was nearby. I went in to this nice looking and neatly merchandised shop where I met the owner, Matt, his son and a few of the other people there. These people of all very helpful, knowledgeable and very customer service oriented, in addition to being honest-to-goodness decent people.While I was chatting with Matt, I told him about my sons knee which was giving him some trouble. Matt thought that perhaps the bike might not be fit correctly for my son and offered to stop by our motel and his way home to see what he could do to help (Who does that?).He came over as promised after the end of what I am sure was another busy day and bounded out of his truck eager to take a look. He asked my son some questions, made some adjustments but ultimately decided that the bike was too small for him. He was absolutely correct about this. My son is 60 and was riding my wifes Trek Pilot which fits her at 56. He thought about it for a second and then said that he had a new bike that was a couple of years old in storage that would fit that he would sell us at below cost to both help us out and clear out some space for newer models. I couldnt pass this up. We had decided to stay an extra day anyway to give my son a day to rest his knee. We went in the next day to Mr. Bike. Suffice it to say that the new bike was properly fit and we were very happy with this experience. Great people!So we thought that was the end of it. The following day we embarked on our 74 mile leg to Gulliver, MI and somewhere along the way we passed a gas station that was set back a little from the road. My Son thought he heard a horn beep and when he looked to the gas station said to me he thought it looked like Matt from the store. We kept riding until we got to a rest stop about a mile down the road and as we got off of our bikes Matt pulls up and asks us how things were working out. He had seen us pull in to the rest area as he was just back on the road leaving the gas station. It was a funny coincidence as Matt was traveling that day and saw us. But it was really nice that he took the time to pull off the road again to check on us. Again, who does that? Several hours and 50 miles later we passed another gas station, this one across the road. As we passed, again we heard a horn beep, looked over and there was Matt, again! He was headed back home, saw us again and gave us an encouraging fist pump. He is one of best people I have ever had the pleasure to meet in my lifetime.A few weeks ago I called him for advice about a used tandem for my wife and I that I saw on Craigslist here in Florida to see what he thought. He looked at the bike and provided some very helpful advice without asking for anything in return. If I could give them extra stars I would.

I limped into Escanaba right before 4th of July 2017, and these gents fixed me right up! I had crashed three days prior, but they were the first bike shop I came across. They trued my wheels, helped clean all the grit out of my bike (if only they couldve gotten it all out of knee!) and fixed my brakes. Thanks to their superior work, I was able to finish the rest of my 2000 mile tour without incident. Sometimes bike shops can be condescending to a solo woman, but the folks at Mr. Bike were professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. Cant recommend enough! MR BIKE RULES!!
