Second time coming to this location and it was once again a solid experience. The staff here are all passionate and knowledgeable about what they do. Sadly my swiss cheese brain cant remember the name of the person who helped me pick up some climbing gear, but he was very informative and honest in his assessment of whatd make for a good general investment. All in all, love the vibe of this store and the customer service experience. Hope to have another opportunity to come back again soon.

Really nice store with very nice and helpful employees. Pretty good selection of gear but the prices don’t usually compete with the chain and online stores. I’ve bought things there a few times, usually when I need something the same day or I need advice on what to buy. Worth the prices for the helpful people and prompt service! They have really good sale items sometimes!

Got some climbing shoes today - I love them! Thomas assisted me and he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Brooke (Im hoping I am remembering her name correctly) also offered some encouraging words which I appreciated SO much since I am a bit intimidated to get into bouldering. Definitely will come back for future supplies.

Great little store packed with a lot of nice gear, staffed by nice people who enjoy talking about what they sell. Thats nice and sadly, unusual. I like this store and will be back to spend more time there but for now, if you need outdoor, climbing or camping gear, this is a great place to go.

Definitely a niche store, but if youre into camping and rock climbing in San Diego, then you need to give this place a gander. Good prices on the necessities and the equipment they sell is higher quality. The staff are knowledgeable but I had to dig to get more answers. Small in size but highly recommended.

This is my favorite outdoorsy store. I bought all of my rock climbing gear here. The staff is so helpful and sat with me for hours to help me find the perfect climbing shoes. Everytime I come to visit Escondido I come here.

Good service

The sales associate (although not interested in making sales) half heartedly attempted to be accommodating; really he seemed putout that he was helping me. I spent over $400 trying to shop locally but instead I wish I would’ve just done it online. Online I would have gotten a better conversation and lower prices. Maybe if I smothered myself in patchouly oil first I would have gotten friendlier service? I guess I’ll never know.

Great shop for outdoor gear, backpacking, rock climbing, and more. Staff is knowlegeable, gear is not the stuff at REI, more cottage industry and tailored. I needed a ULA pack last minute for a trip that got moved up. I twisted an ankle, needed to lighten my load, they were there to lend a hand and get me on track. Cant ask for more than that, Nomad rocks!

This place is fantastic. A backpackers dream come true. When prices may not always be the cheapest available, the help is always spot on and the selection is good. If they dont have what you need, ask and they can probably get it.

Like all Nomad Venture stores, this one appears small and its inventory seems a pittance compared to your average Sports Authority, Big 5, or REI. Buy of course, Nomad has quality gear and while I confined myself to a single aisle that ran the length of the store, I was never for want of quality gear or apparel to look at.The staff was helpful, and offered some advice on an in-line water purifier as well as helping my girl pick out a legitimate hiking shirt.Location was a bit funny and I can see how it might be a pain to find parking if you show up at the wrong time. Otherwise, great experience, great store.Happy HikingJustin

Great Service, the people were very helpful

A prime location with great views on a busy downtown Escondido street. They usually have a big kayak modified with wheels out front with a sign on it. Its much larger than the Temecula location and has everything a climber, hiker, camper, kayaker would need. The prices are the same as all other locations and they carry quality products in more abundance than a marketed established place like REI. It has its quirks like set up is cramped, but lets face it an outdoor place needs space. They do free shipping form other stores inventory if you need it they do regular transfers. If youve been to REI and they dont have it then come here. Or if you want something more intimate and personal come here. Either way you cant go wrong as they will equip you with everything youll need to have great lasting adventures outdoors.
