Had our kitchen counter tops done, came out awesome! Love the soapstone, they did a wonderful job. Wendy the owner is easy to work with, just went back today to buy another piece for the breakfast bar.

More than a sink, we have a new piece of art! Soapstone Werks created a custom sized sink for our 100+ year old house. Its a beautiful addition to a very small kitchen, which has only enhanced our love of the space. Wendy went the extra mile to find add a beautiful hand crafted tile to the front facia of the sink which pulls in all of the colors of the kitchen. These folks are such professionals and paid attention to the extra details. This is the kind of service you get when working with local artists that are passionate about their work. And now we are passionate about their work as well.

We had a disappointing (and what will be expensive) experience with Soapstone Werks. They sold and fabricated a slab for our 9x4 kitchen island with a blemish that covers about a 1/5th of the material. They sent us a photo before purchase where the blemish was difficult to detect. They sold and cut the stone without any warning. The owner did come take a look at it initially, but they told us it would go away with oiling. Oil only made the blemish worse, as it became pronounced.Weve been trying to contact Soapstone Werks for 6 months with no response. We thought they may have gone out of business, but based on their voicemail greeting, they are still operating. After spending so much time and money on a new kitchen, we are sadly disappointed our center island has a 2 blemish across the edge. We have no recourse and the island cost us over $3,000 - ouch.Selling and fabricating such an expensive piece of stone without alerting the customer of a large blemish is NOT standard practice for a stone supplier/fabricator. This company clearly does not care about their work or their customers, buyer beware.

Absolutely one of the most amazing family owned business that I have ever been blessed to work with. From my initial contact with owner/operator/customer service agent Wendy I quietly prayed that they were really as perfect as I wanted them to be. I wasnt disappointed! I was desperate! My 100 year old historic Spanish Revival home was without a kitchen sink. Because of its odd size the only option was a stainless steel sink. Actually that was never an option! After sharing with Wendy that I had been doing dishes while showering she immediately cleared her calendar for the following day. Early the next morning Wendy was showing me around their yard filled with a variety of slabs. We both knew when we found the perfect one. She was as excited as I was! She promised to do everything she could to make sure my days of doing dishes in the shower were numbered and to keep me posted via pictures! In less than two weeks I get the call that her husband and fabricators Greg and son Sean would here the next morning. Right on time the boys arrive ....fortunately for me...unfortunately for Sean he is sick as a dog but had gotten out of bed to make this install happen. Within 2 hours the most prized item in our home is installed. I will be forever grateful to them for blessing our home with such a beautiful piece of art!

Flawless experience from start to finish! Wendy, Greg, and their two sons were extremely kind and helpful. A true family run business and it shows in their customer service and the individualized experience you get with them. Could not recommend and more, they bend over backwards to get you whatever you want/need as fast as possible.

I have worked with Soapstone Werks for years and through multiple renovations. The quality of their work is amazing and they really focus on the details. The whole team is professional and very nice to work with. I recently had an install in my new laundry room and the installers were incredibly polite and careful as they worked around myself and my kids. I have a kitchen renovation in my future and will be sure to call them. They also work with quartzite, granite, marble and quartz.

We had a good experience with Soapstone Works. Like most remodels on kitchens things did no always go as planned or on schedule. Soapstone Works was flexible to these changes. Very professional and thorough with making sure the job got done correctly. Love my countertops.

Fabulous Job! We could not be happier with our soapstone island; and our quartz countertops are the perfect dimensions. Greg is a funny, personable guy who knows his job like a master craftsman, and Wendy runs the front of the shop like a true professional. You may find a bigger operation, but you wont find a better one.

I am so happy that I found Soapstonewerks in Escondido! I mean that literally. This family owned and operated business is a rare treasure, and well-worth the effort required to find them! After a phone call, during which I asked for clearer directions (because my GPS failed to get me there the first time I tried), I was warmly greeted by Mom, Wendy, in the office/showroom and was very impressed by her knowledge of the product and her friendly demeanor. She told me about her husband, the soapstone artist, and how he got started in the business. I also got to see and FEEL some of the beautiful work he had produced out of beautiful soapstone. By the time that initial meeting was over I was certain that I wanted to work with these people. I met their two sons and another member of their staff when they delivered and installed our beautiful soapstone countertops only 2 short weeks later! They were all courteous, warm and very helpful throughout the time we worked together. It was a highly satisfactory experience from start to finish.Although their small green sign on El Norte Parkway is easy to miss, I can assure you that you will be rewarded with excellence when you find this hidden gem.

Best experience ever buying countertops and I buy countertops regularly for my job rehabilitating homes. Wendy has an encyclopedic knowledge of soapstone (originally called pot stone I learned) and has a huge variety of soapstones and other countertops. The business is family run with the fabrication and install being done by her sons and she co runs the business with her husband.

I knew that soapstone was what I wanted when I first heard about it last spring. But the new countertop is even better than I had expected!I couldnt express my appreciation enough for the high splashes in the back and side. They make me feel relaxed when I run the blender and cut up juicy mangos, knowing that clean-up is going to be so easy (scrubbing dried-on fruit particles off a painted wall is anything but fun!)Having a drainboard on both sides of the sink is truly awesome. I couldnt be more pleased with this arrangement. Thank you Greg!!!I am having tons of fun making coconut oil art on the countertop. Ive attached to this email some photos of the constantly evolving scenery of the countertop. One of my favorite places to watch is behind the faucet, where splashes of water add fascinating patterns and textures to the scenery formed by the natural markings of the stone and the coconut oil artwork. In just a moment I will also be sending you a full view of the cabinet and countertop right after it was installed.Finally--but perhaps most importantly--I really feel that the stone gives me energy! It seems to really have life and talks to me! Also I think it likes my cooking, or all the foods I prepare on it . . . so we have a friendly exchange and mutual appreciation! We spend a lot of time together!
