Great selection of books and journals. I liked the spiritual books and the kids section. No bathroom though which was rough for my 7 months pregnant friend. No bathrooms in the downtown, weird and caused us to leave earlier. Good books though! Friendly staff.

Very knowledgeable staff and welcoming environment I appreciate that they are always masked when coming in and they make sure customers are too which is super awesome in these crazy times.

This iconic gem has friendly, helpful staff and I would walk 500 miles for their selection of books. I never leave without finding another treasured addition to my library.I should mention that their store is beautiful and just plain fun to walk through.I love this bookstore! Check out their selection on local history and current native interests. They also sell journals and diaries made out of antique (sometimes cute childrens) books by a local artist. I ordered two - the second was graciously sent to me at home during the pandemic. Their staff goes above and beyond to serve your reading or writing needs. I like their ink pen selection, too.

Amazing architecture, such an aesthetically pleasing place to sit down and read for a while.The lady there seemed very nice and helped a nice lady order a book that wasnt in stock.The range of genres was very good, in particular I liked the LGBT and sex sections-- very interesting essays and stories!

Not just books but they dont go too far outside that lane, which I appreciate. Really nice Humboldt County related gifts. Store is well organized and staff is friendly and helpful; they know the store and the community.

I liked this bookstore. Unlike the bookstore in Arcata, which I also liked, this bookstore is very well-organized, spacious, and brightly lit. It has a lot more new books, compared to used books. It is a bit more upscale, and a little less fun, but it is still a good bookstore.

Was so happy that this place was open on labor day. All of their books were reasonably priced and they had a vast array of writing journals, calendars and other tchotchkes. I was really impressed with their first edition books and first print comics. I could wander on this store for hours if only time allowed.

Wonderful bookstore owned by best selling author Amy Stewart and her husband. Two floors of books, make for a remarkably complete collection for a town the size of Eureka. The bookstore is quiet, and has spots to sit and read, a friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere.

Great architecture!! Loved the variety of new and old books! They have a great taste in books. We found a lot of books that sparked our interest.

Awide selection of books old and new. The prices are very reasonable, and you can make special orders. There is a local author section as well.

Great range of books.They think ahead. They had ordered enough copies of Michelles record breaking book for my daughter to get one last week, without ordering a copy and waiting for days. She is enjoying the book very much.Friendly and knowledgable staff.

I went here while I was on vacation in Arcata for Thanksgiving and I was blown away by the friendly atmosphere. Their selection was really impressive too. They had a wide selection of books to choose from, and other things as well. (What a neat selection of journals!!!)the building is also historic and unique, I really felt right at home there. Next time Im in the area I will definitely pop back in!

Rare books to best selling books in selection and if they don’t have it they will order it. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. The staff is friendly and willing to chat about books or help you find them.

I ordered a manga from them through a different website and am very happy with how the transaction went. It got here quickly, about 5 days after it shipped, was in excellent condition as was described in the items description, and I have to say Ive never received a book from anyone else that was so carefully packaged. It was neatly wrapped in something like a thick tissue paper and shipped in a box cushioned with stiff packaging paper to prevent jostling damage.

This is a really special place. You would not probably buy a book for a present from here but you might explore the second hand stuff and find books long lost anywhere else. Great variety, unique atmosphere, friendly service.

Amazing selection! Rotating stock, so check back often. Very clean and open feeling. Staffed by friendly and helpful people who will work with customers to get books they might be looking for. New books and old books with seemingly curated sections on any topic you could imagine, Nepal, Feminsim, Geography, Local History, Spirituality, Novels, Books on Absinthe,Napoleon, Ghosts, and anything else you could dream up. Second floor in the back there is a discount section where Ive picked up dozens of books. Seriously check it out.

Wonderful little book store wth super friendly and helpful staff

This is a small bookstore that nonetheless has a nice, varied selection with very good quality books. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, the wait staff friendly and helpful, and the store has other odds and ends too, such as authentic outtakes from Punch magazine of a hundred years ago. I liked one so much I had it framed, and it now resides in my living room...! A visit to Eureka is not complete without a stroll down 2nd street and a visit to Eureka Books...

For an indie shop its pretty mainstream. Still a good selection. And it has free books to go to a loving home at the exit.
