Great place to get crafts supplies. Like everything in Alaska, price is higher than in the lower 48. However JoAnn often has good ssles.

This store is always such a mess. The entryway looks dirty and needs some work.Can never find any help in the store except at the counter but they can never answer questions either.Wanted to purchase some pens that are locked up and after 15 minutes I found an employee walking around and I asked her if she could help. Wow she acted like I interrupted her lunch.She really did not want to help.I just think our local Joanns is always messy and they never have any of the new craft and journaling items in stock. A lot of times they have completely empty aisles.They need a complete remodeling.

Great selection of materials, can spend a full day looking at everything

One of the employees smelled like cigarettes. I have a very sensitive nose even with a mask on and she came within 6 feet of us to assist. My daughter was with me and the lady got distracted very easily.On a previous visit, I asked one employee if they had an item and she said no without asking anybody. I asked another employee about the same item and she directed me to where it was and suggested going to Michaels for more options.

I went in looking for fabric to recover chairs & my plan was to cover them with plastic too. I ended up finding some vinyl & was able to cut the cost of the project in half.

Great store, although it is dangerous for me to go in - I spend way too much money! Their yarn selection is awesome! Biggest selection in Fairbanks, and they often have sales.

I have shopped here many times over the last year. I love the selection and the customer service is excellent. My only complaint is checking out always takes longer than my shopping trip and there are usually 5 or so people in line with one cashier.

Polite workers, but they lack any electronics hobby items. Sure they are a fabric store first and foremost, but you think theyd have a single soldering iron in their crafts section. Michaels does, if you dont want to get one from Walmart.

Great sales all the time. We dont usually spend full price on big brands. Our favorites are Cricut, Lego, and Fiskars. Prices competitive with Amazon and other online retailers, which is great for us Alaskans so we dont have to wait on shipping.

Theyre not a bad store. Selection is pretty good, and its reasonably organized. But the employees never really seem to have their act together. They have plenty of staff, but the staff seem to stress out easily. Employees should probably try harder not to complain about their jobs where customers can hear. They should also maybe not interrupt each others conversations with customers unless its important. Also, if they could fix their pricing, that would be great. I bought some fabric not too long ago that was listed as 50% off. It rang up for nearly twice the original price and then it knocked only 30% off, so I ended up paying quite a bit more than I had expected. I brought it up to the cashier, and it seemed to blow her mind, and it seemed like it wouldnt be worth waiting for her to find a manager and explain it all and then waiting for someone to double check it and then waiting for the lesson on how to deal with this, so I just ate the price difference.

I always love shopping here just because they always keep product on the shelf but plan on waiting in line for at least 15 mins just to checkout or have someone help you with anything.

Do not purchase in store here. The prices in store are marked up at least 30% and they refuse to price match the online JoAnn price. Opt to buy online and pickup in store, it takes a few hours but will save you a good amount of money.

We ordered merchandise and it came broken we sent an email to customer service expecting some kind of help. Its been over a month and we still have yet to hear anything from customer service.

Joanns, what can I say. My go to place for fabric and supplies. Its a little more expensive than lower 48 States, but Im able to use my Joanns app for coupons and savings. Its smaller than ones at home, but when your granddaughter asks you to make her Halloween costume, youre happy to find what you need here.

I mainly shop here for fabrics, and the occasional kids craft item. I have always been happy with the selection and coupon selection. I cant help but think the store looks outdated, and run down inside. More often than not the customer service is good.

Supply is limited which is annoying but part of being in Fairbanks I guess. But I can usually find a few nice decor pieces when Im looking.

Jay was so professional and helpful. We appreciated his above and beyond customer service, a real asset to that store.

Only reason why Im giving 2 stars, they have a great selection of fabric. Other than that, their art supplies are cheaply made and the customer service is absolutely horrible. In my experience shopping there, Ive always been met with rude employees. When ever I ask where something is, Im met with annoyance. They never show me where anything is and just point in a vague direction.

They are always updating their products and although the building is old, they get great products. They always have a sale going in and the employees are friendly and helpful. Parking is never an issue either.

I live close by so I shop at this store quite often. I find this store has the best prices and sales. I am on a tight budget so I have to shop when there are sales and I find them here. Some of the staff are friendly and some are not. It does not seem like customer service is one of their concerns. I find Michaels to be less friendly and I always have problems with items not ringing up on sale so I only shop for crafts at this Joanns store. I think for what we have available in Fairbanks, this store is the better choice. If you are looking for something for kids to do or for items for crafts or books on knitting, crocheting or sewing/quilting... I would go to Joanns after going to their website and printing up the most current coupons.I have never had a problem with them not honoring their sales or coupons. They are fantastic about that. That is something Ive always had problems with at Micheals and why I dont go there anymore. Also, if they dont have something you need at Joanns you probably wont find it in town and will have to order online.If this store wanted to improve their service I think they would need to start with the staff that has been there longer. There is an older lady at the fabric counter that has been there for a long time and another older lady with brown bobbed hair and they are rude and I often hear them bad mouthing other staff or yelling at people over their intercom devices. If anyone talked to me the way they talked to other staff I would walk out the door. The nicer staff are the new people that dont last long.

Found the fabric that I wanted but the young lady that cut my fabric needs a sharper pair of scissors. All in all a good visit.

The worst thing is no family friendly bathroom, handicapped accessible, or nursing area. Not kid friendly, and lets face it most moms who are crafting have their children with them. A lack of Christ and Jesus oriented items, material etc at the time of the Christ childs birth is also quite disconcerting. Suggest adult themes nativity scene to paint and full sized advent wreaths or candle sets. Not Just the candles. And maybe a staff that knows something about nativity or advent???

Went looking for a specific item that was listed as being in stock on website, employees could not help locate item which should have been shelved in a section of the store which had most of the lightbulbs not working. Had to go elsewhere for needs.

I work at a car dealership and when we ha e a ripped seat or armrest we come here. Believe it of not, they sell exactly what we need and its a better product at a more affordable price then a car parts shop

The management here is absolutely fing awful. And no, Im not the employee that got fired and retaliated. No body wants to work somewhere where the manager blatantly accuses them of lying about being sexually assaulted to their face, so I finally was fed up quit. This specific store doesnt give a damn about their employees. Kim was a great manager. Lori? I could be here for days describing that woman. And when I got hired, one of the first things out of her mouth is that she doesnt like to hire military spouses because they wanna be home by 5. Well, sucks for her cause its a military town. Take your business rob michaels, seriously.

The store at Fairbanks, Ak has one of the greatest customer service I have seen. Particularly from Michele and their asst manager for the life of me I cant think of his name. Im truly blessed to even see Joanns this far North of Alaska . As a military retiree, the treatment of their customers are above reproach. They helped me choose my new cricut explore air 2 and the accessories. Wonderfully employees. Kudos to a great team!

Ok so this review is not on the store as a whole but the custom framing department. On the 20th of November I turned in a signed jersey to be framed as a Christmas gift for my dad. It cost me almost $300 and that was supposed to be with 60% off and it was supposed to be done by the 11th of December. Now today the 21st of December I still had not received a call saying my item was ready so I called the store. The gentleman who I spoke with stated that it was not done yet and he would have the worker call me when she got in at 11 am, however, I had to call them back again at 12:30. The lady I spoke with said that they hadnt even started my item but that she would start it and would take her about half and hour to an hour to complete and she would call me. Then the clock rolls around and it is 3:30 and I still had not received a call so I go into the store. The lady grabbed my item and showed it to me. And it wasnt even placed the way that I specified it to be done. Now for the amount of money they charge I expect WAY better service than what I received and they didnt even try to make up for THEIR OWN MISTAKE!!! I will not go back for any other frames I need.
