Northland hearing cares about people. They support you through the fitting process and continue after the sale. They have both knowledge from experience and the patience to support you as you readjust to hearing the world again.
Northland Hearing Services is by far the best and most professional hearing instrument clinic in interior Alaska. They provide an assortment of products from Music Monitors to Solid Silicon Earplugs and much more. I highly recommend calling them and setting up an appointment.
This is truly the best place to receive your hearing care. The Clarks are professional and compassionate family that will work hard to solve your communication difficulties. They are the best!
I had a great visit, informative, and continue to have success with my hearing aides. AETNA paid and they are not the easiest insurance company to deal with. They deny, deny and deny until you are worn down. I dont think Northland is the problem. AETNA is!
Great place to get help for hearing health care. They have some very discrete American made custom options that most clinics dont offer.
Beware of this company. Before I went in for service I referred a coworker to them who took her family member there and was told that they accept AETNA. When I went in for myself they told me the same that they take AETNA and my husbands insurance which was BC/BS. I sent them my insurance information and asked if they take both insurances to which they said yes they take both. However after the initial exam (the free exam) and after showing me the options for hearing aids I was told by Philip that they dont take AETNA because they deny the claims and it takes up to 6 months to get claims processed and they still get denied. Because of that I went ahead and ordered just one hearing aid which BC/BS would cover, even though Philip strongly suggested to get two hearing aids to balance out the brain and showed me options of payment plans as well. I also was told that they wouldnt even file through AETNA. When I came to pick up my hearing aid and get it fitted, they had me sign forms which included AETNA claim information to which I was left thinking why did they tell me otherwise earlier. Long story short, hearing aid had to be fixed and they told me to come get it the next morning. That morning I found out from my coworker that they filed AETNA insurance claim for their hearing aid and that they paid large sum of money for the remainder for the insurance deductible as well. That right there was a red flag because I refused to get two hearing aids and refused to do payments since I knew that both insurances would cover them! That same morning I came back, saw that hearing aid wasnt fixed and told them I am not getting it because they gave me conflicting statements about my insurance. AETNA did cover my coworkers hearing aid, and while they went through hassle bugging them to file it multiple times, they found out that Northland Hearing people didnt put right coding information for billing for the insurance, and failed to even submit the claim till 2 months after the purchase. This company doesnt look out for the people of Fairbanks as they say they do. First they say they take insurance and then they say they dont. While the equipment they have is up to date in nice, the service when it comes to billing is awful. They had also asked my coworkers family member to pay not only the deductible up front but also whatever the insurance was supposed to cover as well (as it takes long time to get paid from AETNA). I wonder how many elderly have been sucked into this, asked to pay upfront and the money that insurance would pay out so that these poor people would have to wait for their money back from insurance or maybe not even get it as insurance denies it. Oh, on the other note, they asked me to write letter to both of my insurances stating how much I need the hearing aids. No one in any medical offices has ever asked me to beg my insurance to cover something they already say they do.
