The store was clean and easy to navigate. Pretty good selection of Asian grocery, vegetable and fruits. Prices were higher than other places.
Great grocery store, with all your asian grocery needs. Groceries are fresh, with a ton of different selections. They occasionally have special items from different area in South Korea, which is very cool. The food court is quite larger now, with many great restaurant offerings. Definitely check it out if you havent been here.
They have most of what you need. Theyre packing a lot into a little space. The staff could use some lessons in customer service. The store is clean and the parking is adequate.
So nice and extremely well organized. The food court is super great too.
My wife buys all her Korean grocery at this place. There are many good Asian vegetables and Korean condiments. This H Mart also has a good selection of frozen Chinese buns and dumplings. It is fun to look around.
I don’t mess around with reviews. I tell it like it is.Agree, if you want Asian food, particularly Korean food and ingredients, then, in terms of size and offering, H-Mart can’t be beat. However, in terms of customer service and quality, I give H-Mart 1 star out of 10.I purchased a pack of tofu that had a quality issue - it literally crumbled into pieces when I opened the package. Even with a receipt, they refused to refund the purchase. Customer service basically said, “This isn’t an H-Mart issue and we can’t do anything about it.” Utter nonsense and unacceptable. What do they expect a customer of grocery items do, contact the manufacturer? Neither Safeway nor Giant or any other grocery store would do this. Never! This is what happens when there is no competition. Very unfortunate. After 10 years of being a H-Mart customer, I now only go there for bare essentials and working to find other alternatives.
I like H Mart because it has Korean, Chinese, and Japanese goods, fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood. It also has a foodcourt and a bakery. But overall it seems that the space is relatively narrow. Because there are so many products for sale. I wish them a prosperous business in the future and expand the floor space to make it more comfortable when shopping.
The store is clean, no bad odder and I can find pretty much all fresh products that I was looking for. There is a person at the gate cleaning and wiping the carts, disinfecting them. The products set ups are easy to distinguish and neat as well.
Fantastic! Always has the best produce in the area, and a massive selection to choose from! Even when busy it’s very easy to get what you need and check out swiftly.
I need this market in my life to be happy! They have many of many ingredients that we use in our daily meals. Best healthy imported snacks, our kids spices, kimchi, various types of rice, all the vegetable and fruits in much cheaper price then any other store. It helps the budget. And actually its fun to shop there. During high peak of covid they had plastic gloves and disinfectant right at the entrance, that was very impressive 👏
There were worms inside the toothpaste I bought for my kid, I have videos of them crawling and it’s disgusting. She refusing to wash her mouth in fear of getting worms inside, I know this comment wouldn’t do any good because last time that the meat was bad and I tried to return it the customer service was awful and I emailed the company and no one cared to respond. Have the courage to admit your fault.
Updated Sept 2021 - visited the same store at a different location. It seems to be not as well organized as the previous location. But it has been so long ago; it might be just my memory.I like H Mart because it has Korean, Chinese, and Japanese dry goods, fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood. It also has a canteen and a bakery. But overall it seems that the space is relatively narrow. Because there are many products on sale. I wish them a prosperous business in the future Expand the space again.
Best of all Hmarts in this 15 mile vicinity
Great prices, tons of choices, neat aisles, kind staff, and a beautiful layout! Everything is easy to find and this store just gives me amazing vibes! What more could you ask for?
I always go out of my way and drive 45 minutes, passing by 2 other H Marts to go to the H Mart in Fairfax. Compared to other H marts, this location is much larger. There is also a large food court in addition to the grocery store. The produce here is always fresh and there is always a good selection of good to get. Coming here is always exciting because youll never know what new fresh fruits they have to try.
Definitely one of the fancier H mart I’ve been to in the area. But they don’t get rid of food that has past their expiration date from the shelf. We saw Kimchi in the store that’s already expired. But we didn’t expect things like ramen noodle to be left on shelf expired too. And congee package with seafood. Good store and good supply, but definitely check the date before putting the food in your cart.
This new HMart is one of the best and cleanest Korean supermarkets around the country. Ive been to Lottes and Hmarts around the country so Ive been to quite a few in the major cities. The produce is pretty good and the prepared foods as well. They also have one of the largest food courts with a good selection of foods served.
This is really nice asian grocery store and it does have American selections as well. Fresh fruits veggies meats and seafood cannot be topped! The fresh seafood department is great! I purchased salmon for lunch!!!! I would have to brush on reading the language on some items to purchase more. But overall great store!
I normally shop at the Lotte on Metrotech Dr in Chantilly and my recent trip to this Hmart has just reaffirmed why I put up with the crowds, that Lotte is always busy for a reason. From what I can see most produce is either similarly priced or more expensive than what I can get at Lotte, a spatula in home goods was $5.99 when the same one is $3.99 at Lotte, the Thai basil is in a smaller pack but the same price that kind of thing. I bought two packs of king oyster mushrooms and both were rotten and fuzzy within one day of buying them, ended up throwing them both away and wasting my money entirely. If this were the only store like it in this area then this would be 5 stars, but there’s options out here and I definitely wouldn’t say this is one of the better options out there.
Very cool spot. Tons of good food and things you never thought existed
Great place, produce section is massive and everything is kept clean and in order.
Great meat selection! The food court is also very nice.
Great Korean Asian Supermarket places and i am very proud to be a member to save a big. Especially best after services to customers. Thank you David Song and all employees!
Im glad that after moving to Fairfax I was able to find a piece of Korea to keep with me (the food). This Hmart appears to be the newest one in the area. Ive been to both the one in Centerville and the one in Annandale. I love cooking Korean food and this is practically my one stop shop for the dishes I make on the weekends. While the other Hmarts also have a great selection this one in particular is very well organized and laid out. Its very easy to navigate through the aisles and find the ingredients youre looking for. The other Hmarts I have tagged on an extra ten minutes of walking up and down the aisle to find something. Im sure part of this is my limited language abilities in Korean. I read and write on the level of a four year old.In addition to the large selection and variety of food this Hmart just like many other carries kitchen gadgets and a few household items like what you might see in Korea. It also has a small Paris Baguette which is one of my favorite bakeries to get little pastries fromThe only critique i have is the sticker shock of the food court. I gasped when I saw (김치찌개) kimchi jjigae listed at $12. Perhaps Im still getting used to prices in the US, but I dont think I ever paid more than $6-$7 in Korea.
H Mart often has the best value for money for produce. That used to always be the case, but sometimes other stores beat them these days. They still have the best deals around on seafood. Customer service is so-so, sadly. The desk is understaffed, and, unlike most places, they wont stand behind posted prices if the computer rings it differently. They say that they made a mistake on the shelves and ask if you still want the item. I go there less now than I used to.
Feels nice and squeeky clean now theyve moved here. Came for the food court which is larger than the old space but on a weekend its a mad house trying to find seating. Enter the food court by immediately entering and going left *in front* of the cash registers, dont go into the store and back left, its all blocked off.
Fun store, lots of items from oversees. Helpful staff. Great dishes for home, cooking wears. I also bought raspberry vinger. Very helpful staff. Dont forget to become a member to save
Wonderful selection of Asian, Hispanic and Middle Eastern foods. The produce was excellent. Everything was fresh and well stocked. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would have given it a five star rating except for some of the American products were overpriced; which shouldnt be a problem for most people cause thats probably not the kind of things you shop for at an H Mart. It was worth the 3 and a half hour drive from Bedford,VA. Bonny Browne 🍱🙂
I love H-Mart! Seems you can find just about anything here, and the prices are very competitive. The variety & selection of fruits and veggies alone crushes all the other stores. Love the fact that you can also enjoy a sit down bite to eat, try something new, and even with picky children it’s never disappointing. In fact my kids enjoy this store due to the snacks not available in other stores. Very pleased that we have our very own H-Mart close by especially when looking for herbal, organic, healthy Asian foods.
This H Mart is so large, clean, with a larger selection of fresh fruit and vegetables than other H Marts that we have visited. It has great parking and amazing variety of restaurants to grab a meal after your grocery shopping is all done.
Always a solid choice for lunch, it does get busy but its worth the wait. Dinner is actually slower, but lacks the energy of the lunch crowd, imo.Gangnam Dog is awesome! I wish they were open after last call.Young Dabang is great. Be prepared. Its a mountain of food.Noori Chicken is a great alternative to BonChon.Lees Sushi is a bit spendy, but great quality and preparations.Mamison is great all around Korean staples. The BBQ and Tofu place ia also solid all around.Paris Baguette is amazeballs. Not only does it look great, it all tastes great. Not like some places that look awesome but fall flat on taste.Give it a go. You wont be disappointed.
Definitely my favorite korean/asian place to shop at. Feel like they have the best prices and products.
Clean, well maintained & well stocked korean/asian grocery market with a pharmacy, k-food court, bakery & cosmetics dept.
Good market, you can find a variety of vegetables for a reasonable price.
I went to the new HMart and theyve done a beautiful job! Everything is well organized, clean, and hip! Prices are great and the variety of food you can find is amazing! In addition to the grocery section there is also a beauty section, pharmacy, Paris baguette, and the market eatery. My favorite part of this store, and something every grocery store should have, is the kids play area! The market eatery has about 6 different restaurants to choose from and the portions are large! I will definitely be back!
Beautiful produce, great variety of international foods, and yummy sushi at the food court! Great place to visit.
This is my favorite grocery store! I think it famous by Korean market. They have the best fresh vegetables and fruit with the great price! Always pack with people on weekends and week days evenings! That’s why you can find the fresh vegetables here because they goes fast! Employees are friendly and the environment is very clean and organized! You can browse here easily and find what you looking for!
My favorite HMART out of the others in the area. Large, spacious and clean.
The new location is awesome. So many upgraded and clean amenities. Parking is a bit painful but with the cafe it is worth the wait. Great asian food options and a strong addition for the Asian community. Fresh meats and produce and kind staff. Very cery busy. Small fishy smell due to all yhe fresh live fish. Need more registers to minimize the long wait
Our go-to grocery for most of the pandemic. Staff and patrons are well masked and it is a rarity to see someone with a nose out. The produce selection is huge and prices are good. Would love to see a little more in the Japanese food section. Store is generally very clean. The layout of the produce section makes distancing a challenge at times.
My wife and daughter say this H Mart is a Super H Mart. After going there a few times I have to agree. Great choices of food, drink, and restaurants.
Regarding the item selections, this specific store is the most reliable Asian grocery store in the area. For the produce items, you need to be careful to make sure about quality though.
I finally had a chance to visit for the first time! My review is from the perspective of someone from a very rural, very bland Caucasian upbringing, so I cant say how this compares to any kind of authentic ethnic markets, but it was totally awesome to me to finally get to see produce that Id only seen in Asian dramas or cooking channels on YouTube! It was also a really fun place to pick up some unusual candies for all of my rural nieces and nephews as souvenirs.Currently, masks are required, and a voluntary computerized temperature check was available with the direction for anyone with a temperature (I think of 100.4 degrees or more) to not enter the store.I removed one star for the two inconveniences that we experienced: a fairly funky smell to the store, the origin of which I never determined since we spent most of our time only in the produce and snack areas; and secondly, a misunderstanding (I think?) that occurred at checkout that ended with us purchasing an extra product beyond what we expected since it appeared to only be serving as a stand-in for a price check but then we were on the hook for it as well. It wasnt a huge problem at all, but our efforts to calmly clear things up didnt get anywhere. 🤷♀️Over all, I cant wait to go back and explore some more!
Great fresh fruits and vegetable choices.Very clean.Nice food Court as well.
Big hmart! I come here if I want variety of selection. They have everything!
Just the absolute best place to go for anything from East of the Mediterranean
Try the plum wine. Yummy!Nice food court.
By far the most stocked HMart in the area.. plus the added bonus of international restaurant onsite.
This store is great when it comes to vegetables and fruits, the options you have is incredible!! And they look fresh!I always come here when l want a fresh vegs
Why are these not everywhere?! Best grocery store Ive ever been to. No question.
Amazing. So many items here that I can find nowhere else.
Amazing really it is and I will be coming back
So much foods to get herevery fresh too
Customer service really needs work or training. The employees are either rude or disrespectful. Just checking for the freshness of some God forsaken fish garners prompted them to grab me and ask why I was checking their product. Something that should be obvious if you know what bad seafood does. Other Hmart or international markets preferred
In northern Virginia, this is the nicest H Mart by a mile. I make a trip to go there for two reasons: the fish department has the best selection, including the live fluke sashimi that you can get year round, and the food court has a great selection of Korean comfort foods that you can eat inside or take it to go. The Paris Baguette, which I think is the only location in NOVA, is a bonus.
Lunch box jabchea(much much suger )If want lunch not recommend
They have a massive variety of foodstuffs as well as a fantastic selection of restaurants to eat at after shopping!
I bought a box of country style fresh kimchi two days ago, I opened it and had some today, I found a small piece of raw chicken in it! That’s so gross and makes me vomit and nauseous.
I found the Korean and Thai ramen and kimchi as well. Halal meat is also available
Best grocery store in the area, with an excellent food court!
By far the nicest and cleanest H-Hart in the area. No complaints other than distance I live from it.
Great supermarket, wide selection, also has a pretty decent restaurant inside.
Cheap and good selection of food.
This location is a serious upgrade over the last. The best part is the food court which has a great variety of fun food. Normally this place is packed. Getting here at an off hour is a nice treat avoiding the otherwise large crowds.
The store is the best among VA and MD including Lotte stores. However, last Saturday(Feb 20,2021) we saw couple of employees at the bakery department not wearing masks. One came out from the back not wearing, one was talking to other without the mask at the counter, then wiping her nose with bare hand . She is the counter cashier......This is the reason COVID will never leave us .
Fresh produce, clean store, great food court
I get my Asian and Korean groceries. For the most part, I find fresh and well priced produce there. I know better to avoid weekend busy hours as the parking lot gets full at times and it is difficult to social distance inside.
Love the food court!I came here mostly for my favorite Tteobokki Ramen with fried squid from Young Dabang.
Nicest H Mart in DC region. Excellent selection. Nice employees. Very neat, clean and well-organized. Great value on most items. Large beer, wine, sake department. Large freshly made cooked meals, cold salads, Korean sushi etc...Just wish theyd open a location closer to DC.
1st visit & it was very pleasant experience! The store is very clean & plenty of quality items to choose from! Love to go back again.
They have a huge selection of groceries. Everything is always very fresh. Inside of the store is clean. The staff are helpful and do a great job at keeping the store clean and sanitized. This is a great place to do grocery shopping.
My go to place for Korean groceries. Everything is always fresh, my go to place for vegetables and all my specialty ingredients.
Super great deals and an amazing food court. H mart has the best prices around for the best international food. This is my go to spot for Korean groceries. There is a paris baguette and other food vendors inside with delicious pastries and meals. Perfect spot to have lunch and then do some grocery shopping on a full stomach so you dont over shop!
Very clean and has plenty of unique products.
They have Maseca! H Mart has always been good to me and their cuts of meat is unlike anything you can find in an American grocery store. For this alone I continue to come back.
Staff members has no idea of what theyre selling/stocking and cannot help. You will probably have to look and find everything for yourself, if its even in stock.-EditRereading some reviews, I wish H-Mart did more proactive things to change instead of copy and pasting email and support line, which always leads to nothing. Theres even a review of legitimate pictures of months expired products. There is nothing to look in to, but more of training employees properly and avoid such issues.
This location is my favorite. Note, they just moved from down the street, so they’re in “new” digs but it’s still my favorite. Big. Bright. Bustling. When I want Korean snacks, this is where I go. And if you crave rice cakes, you must go see who I call, the duk lady, selling Siroo duk towards the back of the store near the prepared foods. No other duk will taste the same after you try hers. Also, I always pick up some Korean fried sweet potato. Addictive.
We purchased Korean cracker from this store. The product already had a bad oily smell before the best before date on the package. When we brought the product back to the store, the store manager refused to give us a refund or exchange saying that it was purchased too long ago and she pointed us to their return policy. The girl in the customer service seemed to have a difficulty in understanding English. A very bad experience.
No words needed. Best collection of seafood items in the area.
Found what I needed fast, but not many options for products.
A male cashier over-charged me for about $30. The bad thing is when I told him about the mistake, he simply said you can let the service desk refund you. No apologies at all.
Some H marts are hit or miss, the ones near me arent great. On a lark, I went to the Fairfax location searching for natto...and was BLOWN AWAY. The Fairfax H mart is SUPER CLEAN and WELL ORGANIZED. Staff was helpful and friendly. Despite the long drive, passing a different H mart location on the ride, I plan on making Fairfax H Mart a regular stop of my weekly shopping.
The selection of fresh seafood is great and the imported goods will keep me coming back.
From what I could say it was very nice new clean and spacious didnt do any shopping there just went to eat
I try to buy a Masago making a califonia roll. Whole box for around 30$ but they usually display pint size container for 5 to 6.00$. I asked if they have smaller size. But they answered No I will not, even if you pay 40.00$. there are plenty of customers besides you. The next day, I went to LA mart and thank god, I got the two boxes one 1kg for 24.99$ & 2kg for 29.99$. May be Hmart ready to wrap up .
Friend bought packaged korean tangerines for us. Half of them were spoiled. Tried calling the customer service to return but they said they cant do anything about it. Told us to get the receipt from the person who gifted us... Burke H mart were willing to hear our story and we made an exchange at Burke H mart instead. Should really train customer service employees.
