Recently wen in to buy a new laptop and had some rather specific questions I needed answered, any other store I would have been given the response of I dont know, but this is microcenter and I had Jerry Burton assisting me. Jerry went through all my questions and answered them all and if he couldnt he went and did actual research to get the answers for me, he spent over an hour helping me and never made me feel like a bother. Best prices for electronics and legendary service.
Micro Center charged us almost $600 to fix our daughters PC. It sat at this shop for weeks and when we got it back it was inoperable. We called them to rectify the situation and they did absolutely nothing. We took her PC to a local shop and for $135 they fixed it and it has never worked better. Our recommendation - hire a local Mom and Pop PC repair place
Ill update this review when I can speak with the service department. They do not have a single phone number online and they corporate chat says they cant provide it because they dont have any... sounds bogus.Updated: I made the drive (2 hours total) and couldn’t be helped at the service department for my issue. I decided to take a walk around and check out the impressive selection. Three of the employees were making fun of a customer (obviously not to their face, but loud enough for myself and another customer to overhear). Then one smiles with a grin, “can I help you find anything?”
Somehow this store has competitive prices to what you pay if you order it online and get it shipped to your house. And they offer friendly good advice. Its great!
Needed a PC for work (I am a Mac person) so was not very familiar. However, Christian made it easy. He recommended a model that was such a good value! All the bells and whistles and under budget. Make sure to ask for Christian.
I love this place but I seriously hate every single salesperson asking if you need something. I assume they get paid commission because they want to put their sticker on everything and again its annoying.Pay these guys a real salary so they can provide quality assistance without pressuring the customers.
Has alot of parts, pre built pcs, and other needed accessories
This is my heaven. I live in Albuquerque and stores like this no longer exist. Its so awesome to see all these electronics and hobbyist items in one location. Great prices too.
Always the best prices, and I have been coming here for 10 years. Best service.I have had my share of run ins with some not so great experiences, but I will always recommend MC over any other electronic store, ever.
This is a great place to browse and buy, and they often have good deals on items - better than Amazon. Salespeople work on commission, and some are better than others and giving good advice rather than trying to earn the largest commission (such as knowing when to stop pushing on extended service plans). If you do need service, expect to wait in line - maybe a long time, so bring something to read.
Incredibly frustrating. I dropped my laptop off for a repair but there is absolutely no way to get an update about how long it will take to repair or what it will cost. When dropping it off, I was told I would be contacted the same day and its been 4-5 days now. I tried messaging, calling, and emailing to no avail. Its like they just dropped off the face of Earth. Id rather get shanked with a rusty fork than go back there again at this point. I guess I can just say goodbye to the idea of getting my laptop back in 5-10 business days.FYI Microcenter - the one person who actually DID help me was Reid......from online support.... unbelievable. Thank you for your help, Reid!
I bought a 2 year warranty on a pair of expensive headphones (over $200). I was assured that this would cover whatever. I specifically ask about wear and tear and if the headphone breaks (like one of the sides) would they accept it and they said they would. This happened to my previous headphones and now to my new headphones 6 months later. They have never even left my desk but broke. Now they are saying nope they won’t accept them.
By default Micro Center is the the best computer because its the only computer store left. Disregarding this, it has good selection, good prices and helpful staff. Its a great store period which is why its still around. A throwback to the golden age of retail.
I love going there even though it is a 300+ mile round trip. It is more convenient to drive there and get what I need now then to wait 2-10 days and pay shipping for same part
I bought Monitor here. There staff were helping me to get the right one. Will go back again soon for buying another Monitor.
My husband wanted build a computer. Alan was very helpful. They were short on stock for graphics cards. They took my husband name and put him in wait list. Alan told us we may have to roughly about 2 months but we got a email within two weeks. Everyone was very helpful with process. Special thank you to Alan!
Extremely disappointed by uncooperative management. I have been a loyal customer and referred many others to their store for over a decade, only to be turned away at the checkout after spending an hour talking with the employees about parts. They have added an undisclosed and unexpected policy at checkout - IDs are now required to purchase some parts. This policy change is not on the website nor anywhere in the store. Wasted an hour drive and an hour in store, only to be rejected at the checkout because my ID was left on the other side of commuter traffic.
Best place to kill time and be drawn into awesome tech and great deals
I wish this place was closer to home. This is what every BestBuy should be like... and it has reasonable prices, some better than Amazon!!!
Its the worst place 😪 I got a new phone Samsung Galaxy A72 and after couple months of using it, I try to switch from T-mobile to other company to get a good plan, but this phone just support T-mobile and AT&T only, no one told me that when I buy it and paid cash all amount, its really disgustingDont recommend this store to anybody
They have a lot of technology thats very useful, and they may sometimes be missing some stuff you may want like a USB hub that plugs into the wall but they do have a lot of technology you may want.
Great place Great price for tech gadgets. Love this store
Everything you need but help,Young kids just eager to attach their name-stickers to your buys (that you already holding) but not so much to answer questions
Was in the store yesterday and was greeted by an impatient employee when I asked questions about how often 30 series become available. I get it, they probably get this everyday, but it was my first time in this store so I don’t know the protocol in the current climate. He told me to come back at 9 am the next day because there could possible be new GPUs. I know it wasn’t a guarantee but I went back today and waited an hour (staff was there but didn’t want to tell us if any GPUs came until 10am. Then as we left, one of the employees said “I love seeing people sad when they leave here in the morning. “ I felt unwelcome and was treated like a beggar. It’s a shame because I liked the store but the staff was unbearable. Management needs to be better.Revising my original post. Had a much better experience with a different employee.
This is the best place for all things computer-related. Incredible inventory and knowledgeable staff.
I love micro center but sometimes I dont have the deals that Im looking for but when they do its the best
If you need something electronic you can find it here. Some of the best prices in the industry and a select that will satisfy anyones needs.
My go to place for anything tech related. Recently went in to pick up some parts for a new PC build not expecting to find an RTX card as I had given up at that point. To my surprise and joy, they had a few in stock that they kept for builders. Thank you Micro Center for protecting your loyal customers and for making it possible for us to purchase the much needed parts!
Micro Center is an amazing place if you have some Computer Geek in you. The chances are good that you will find anything and everything that you need for building or expanding your personal computers or peripheral devices. Generally the help seemed knowledgeable as well.
Just came back from Microcenter (Fairfax) after an hour round trip drive from Alexandria.Their website shows 4 available GPU for in store purchase. No phone number to call to check and no one on their chat.Got to store 10 minutes before closing and was informed that no GPU is available when pointed to their website I was told by a staff that only 3 people can change the content of the site and they are all in vacation!!!A computer store claims that their website should be manually updated or authorized people who can change the content of the site are in vacation!!!To make the matter worse another sale manager said that they have the GPU in store however only for people who are placing order for a complete build! They pretend that they have a solid and fair policy due to shortage of GPU however they are not honoring their inventory nor pricing. They either dont care about the customers or intentionally luring the people in. Either way it is just a SHAME!Amazingly by the time I got home the quantity of available GPU changed from 4 to 3 !!!***This is an update on a second visit, this time to Rockville location on Friday 10/15. Again Micro center website showed number of newly stock GPU at Rockville. Drove all the way to Rockville to yet again was told that the website content is not updated!!!Extremely frustrated asked for the Manager and explained the situation. In my amazement and contrary to my previous experience at Fairfax location Mark calmly listened to my complaint and asked his operation manager Bryan to provide sufficient answer and accommodate my need. Extremely professional and customer oriented attitude that brought back nice memories. After residing in Northern VA back in 1998 I purchased my first system (Compaq with 50 GB HDD) from Microcenter! As a busy IT professional having access to all sorts of IT gadgets I rarely visited Fairfax in the past few years. Now having a teenage son was an opportunity to build him a system and introduce him to local break and mortar store that once was famous for outstanding customer service.I have received an outstanding service from the manager and operation manager at Rockville there is no excuse for Fairfax for lack of customer service at their location. One company, one philosophy however two different experience at two different locations can only indicate the effectiveness of local management.
I felt it necessary to make this review to give a huge shout out to Nick at the Fairfax location who helped me resolve my audio headache! He was very patient and hands-on with helping me research ways of splitting my Shure MV7 Mic between the PS4 and my stream (audio is a serious pain in the butt) and eventually he came up with a quick easy solution after spending almost an hour with me. Thanks to Nick, I have a greater quality stream and I couldnt be more satisfied.I will say, not all Sales Associates will approach you so you may have to hunt one down and check if theyre available (its a high volume location) but these guys know their stuff and its a strong team and I look forward to repeated visits!
I was initially helped by Angelo Chua who diagnosed the problem and told me it could be fixed. Big relief as my IT guy told me I’d have to buy another laptop. Angelo said the part might take 10 days to arrive. It arrived in 5. When I came to pick it up, Jason Kang was very helpful and professional. It took Angelo about 5 min to replace the part. The whole process was great and I highly recommend them.
Best Buy is nothing compared to Micro Center. It is much better for techie people, if you’re one of those. You get a far better selection of items (even some rare computers on display), and that includes tools if you want to do a DIY repair. You also get all kinds of computer parts, networking equipment, and other miscellaneous items that Best Buy wouldn’t bother selling. If you live farther away from here, it is absolutely worth the drive. Also, they price match, so keep an eye out for better deals so you can show them.
IF you are a hobbyist, or just need to pick something up to make work from home easier, Id recommend familiarizing yourself with this store. They have a great selection of computers, and an even better selection of accessories (how many of us dont need new headphones or speakers by now? Especially with all the telework meetings.) The associates are knowledgeable, and when Ive had to ask questions, are friendly and helpful. Would recommend highly.
I was looking for a television. Clerk kept helping other people walking through even though I was standing there. He helped probably five other people before he helped me and I was there first. Then the TV I wanted was out of stock and I only had one other televisions choose from.
I drove my daughter to look at pcs and we just took a day trip there. A lot of experienced people there.
Good place for IT related items and parts. Good prices.
Love this place. Has a little bit of everything when it comes to electronics. Extremely knowledgeable staff and they are very willing to help you find the right part or computer.
Love this store. All the computer things can be found here, even had a couple GPUs. Newbies and professional IT can be satisfied here, the salesmen where all really knowledgeable. Plenty of parking and really just a massive store that caters to computer/IT product.
Place used to be ok years ago. No one to answer the phone there. Rode 40 miles to get a new screen for my laptop and it’s defective. Now got to fight traffic for 40 miles to go back. Should have ordered on EBay. Never again…
Had what I needed at a fair price.Way to many toys for the good of my wallet.
Great selection and great service and competitive prices. A great place for all your technology needs.
While shopping at the section to pick parts for my new built. I was looking for associate finally got one I do understand when they are busy. I had spoken to the manager. Look like very nice at first I was very disappointed with the way he spoke with me. He made feel a little uncomfortable. I found other reviews online it seems to me,reputation of this store is diminishing. I just do not feel like this place is place for me to shop. This Gentlemen William from parts to build for PCs was also seemed when I asked for help did not want to assist me and walked away.
This place is a good combination of Radio Shack and Best Buy, with a little extra thrown in. Convenient to pick up many electronics bits that I would normally go online for and comparable prices to large online retailers. The only thing I dont like is how often I am asked if I need help, the staff on the floor feel like theyre working for commissions. It gets old.
Any PC enthusiast knows having a micro center accessible is great. Got good prices and great help from the staff to help me finally upgrade my 9 year old PC into not only something modern, but futureproofed too. (The gpu market still sucks though and while their prices on newer cards arent awful comparitavely, theyre still affected by the current market and thus a good amount higher than original intended msrp like everywhere else).
Had to experience a smug and rude customer service from a kid manager today. Basically, product becomes faulty with in just two months of purchase so I had to drive an hour round trip to replace it. No apologies for my troubles nothing just a rude manager telling me my extended warranty is now expired. So I had to buy yet another extended warranty because the headphones are not made to last. Do yourselves a favor and don’t bother with an extended warranty and stick to the manufacture warranty. Or go somewhere else.
Staff is very knowledgeable. Never had any problem finding what I needed.
Micro Center has just about every need for a tech savy person in regards to personal computer equipment. Whether your a PC or Mac user, the staff is highly knowledgeable and very friendly. The sales are great, and you cant beat their email offer perks if youre on the mailing list.
My husband and I went to different stores to purchase a laptop, unfortunately due to customer services and the poor quality of knowledge, when I asked about the product. Didn’t satisfy me 100%Grateful google sent me to Micro Center (which we completely forgot about lol)Jessica was amazing, and attentive. Her customer service skills and knowledge about the products was on point, satisfied us 100%. She took her time to explain about each product when I asked. My husband and I felt so comfortable around her. I’m glad we came to Micro Center.
Horrible company. that never delivered my order and now giving me the run around. Go bestbuy or costco instead. This is a joke of a company
Im purchased motherboards, CPUs, and other parts to assemble my own PCs several times over the past 10+ years. They have an amazing assortment of all the products necessary to build a PC, and their prices are generally better than mail-order. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and technical support is also available on site.
Good place to buy computers and software. Do price match
I love this store because they have so much good hardware for gaming! The only one issue with this specific location is that I called them and asked if they had powerspec pc’s. Then a staff member they permanently no longer sell powerspec PC’s at any Location. Then yesterday, I went to the store and there were powerspec pc’s. Then I was confused about it so I told an employee what happened and said the other employee lied to me. I still writing 5 stars because this is just one employee, this has nothing to do with the store.
I have been shopping here for years. I prefer to buy at local stores and support local business. Lately customer service has been lacking, associates stand around chatting with each other and dont offer to help.Yesterday I went to buy two dell monitors and wanted to price match but manager declined stating she has to see the UPC number on the dells website. I informed that dell usually does not list UPC numbers but rather they show model number and the policy states either model number and/or upc is acceptable. She declined, I ended up ordering directly from dell. Will be shopping elsewhere
I spent almost $2000 here to build my computer. I did not have to buy it here. People say it’s cheaper than most places. But it’s a lie. It’s around the same price as other places. They try to get you to build a re built computer but when that department can’t sell it to you, they just tell you to go to another department and brush you off. They don’t care about customer service here at all. If Juan wasn’t so nice, I would’ve given this place 1 star. I do not recommend any of my friends or to go to this for computer parts. They build it for you but it’s a total rip off. $150 but they don’t install windows for you. $200 but they will install windows for you. They say they price match but they get very angry with you, when you mention it, and then they will get you on technicalities in order to not price match.I do not see this place lasting for another 10 years. Horrible customer service!!!! Don’t come here!Update:I came back a had a super amazing experience with Johnny Sandy in returns and exchanges department. He had a super bright and kind personality. He would be the only reason why I would come back. He helped me with every question I had. He was willing to work with me and gave me a great attitude the whole time.
This place makes Best Buy look like RadioShack. Only bad I can say is there is not enough locations. The best Tech experts with exemplary customer service skills. I love this place!
They staff is really nice they actually know what they are selling witch is nice if youre in a hurry. I recommend coming to the store regularly because they have store sales all the time🕙👍😉
Great place to get computer components are fair prices.
Much better than best buy.
My sister took her lab top to get replace the battery and they messed her computer up they dont know how t o even replace the battery she told them that they should give her another lab top because of the whole year they couldnt fix her computer back to normal they said no they wouldnt its so sad when u trust a company and they hurt that trust .
I love how micro center does business. It is definitely customer centric and the price is fair. I just wish there were more stores in multiple location.Service is excellent. Product is customer oriented. The store is clean and organized.
Such a cool place. All the employees (and the manager) seem like they care so much, too!
An amazing place to go for computer and electronic parts. I could wander around here all day! Best part is, their prices are extremely reasonable and often lower than anywhere online. I dont know how they do it, but I hope they keep doing it for a long time.
Rude employee. Disrespectful to my dad.
Paradise for tech nerds. Well stocked and friendly associates.
If you are a computer gamer, this place is a mecca for northern VA. I can spend hours here just browsing around, and it is highly competitive for PC part prices. I really appreciate that they are expanding their gear selection for livestreamers, and this is also one of the few places that has quality tools and parts for microcontroller DIY enthusiasts
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Wide selection of items, with good prices. They lean mostly towards cheaper than what youll find online and its nice to be able to parts up same day! Definitely recommend checking it out if youve never been and are in need of PC parts quickly!
All you need for electronics. Very knowledgeable staff. Parking lot is on a slope.
I try not to enter this building as fear it will cause me financial hardship of my own accord. Between my desire to build another desktop or upgrade my network, I could easily get in some bankruptcy worthy trouble. Restraint is of the essence, however. Despite chip shortages and high demand, MC still has product to sell albeit somewhat limited from former glory but I can only assume will return when someone figures out how to get more precious manufacturing material. You can still build a pc from parts even if you want hard tube cooling. 3D printing stuff? Yes. Where else can you walk in and buy iFixit tools?
The manager Eric Hall was highly professional and helpful. We drove from another state a day before our purchase, and was let down due inaccuracies by the website. We came back and Eric took good care of us and made it worth our time. I would definitely recommend coming into the store and will be back for future purchases.Definitely made my son’s Christmas!Thank You Eric, David, and Micro Center!
Had the auto remote batteries I needed. Great price.
The best place to go for building computer parts in the area!
I guess this would have more to do with the community, but I stayed overnight for the 3070 ti launch and had a blast. I didnt get there early enough for the 3070ti, but I got an RX 6700 XT that i am really happy with.
Just go!I buy local. I like micro center and I went to the store. For me, its kinda like the same feeling you would get back in the day when you went to the mall at Christmas- like possibility but with a twinge of dread for your bank account. So when I wanted a desktop to adjust options to stream and steam, and edit subscription services in my life, I went here. I shopped elsewhere, Costco, Mall-Wart, handful of stores online, etc. and these folks were competitive. What those places did not do, and most places you buy end user computing needs cannot do, is make buying them fun. I liked getting to walk around and see the options. I liked thinking about options a, b, c. Unless you do this stuff all the time, the purchase is large enough for the average consumer to still deserve some experience. Its laid out like a grocery store for home user technology. Since Im a geek and miss radio shack, I cannot help but smile walking in. You cannot really dismiss folks who have everything from esoteric cabling needs, to a bunch of types of keyboards and mice, to UPS and a tabletop video game cabinet (tempting), a STEM toy section, various past console controllers...on and on. My next purchase will likely be a better dual monitor setup for home office, and Im going back there for it. Ditto for Christmas gifts.
We visited last week while purchasing parts to complete a PC build for our son. We dealt with Juan Santos. I cannot say enough nice things about his level of customer service and product knowledge. He was patient with our lack of knowing what we were doing and gave constructive feedback on our choices of product and spent quite a bit of time with us making sure we got the best product for our money. We had to go back last night for one last piece that was previously sold out, Juan was not there and the two other associates we spoke too were far less knowledgeable. Kudos to Juan and his superb customer service!
Pretty much the only brick and mortar place to get DIY computer and electronics. Not only that the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I love going here just to physically see things while I shop. And it’s great to be able to get advice that makes sense and is helpful.
I have customers for you10 years but this Monday I went to pick up headphones I have coupon but one of your employe really mad and he tell me it already use but I never been there after COVID I tell him please can you check again with my phone number name make sure when I came he look at computer but he can’t find it because I never been there after COVID after that he mad and throw the headphones in front of me I don’t know what he think and why he did like that ?and I told him why you throw the package in front of me in my back they have customers also.after that I ask him but he walk a away I fell really embarrassing with those people who is in my back
Awesome as always. They seem to always have what I need in stock. The staff is always helpful, and never pushy.
Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Luke was great and patient.
My boyfriend loves shopping here... and Ill admit, the staff here are very knowledgeable. One day though my computer stopped working and I got the black screen of death, automatic repair loop, and all kinds of stuff that just wouldnt let me use my computer - I tried for 8hrs to troubleshoot it and nothing worked. My boyfriend told me to take it to Microcenter so we did. Sean took my custom build and told me hed have it ready in a few days. Well, that same afternoon, Sean called me and informed me of the issue which turned out to be a bad graphics card - of course, the one thing I didnt consider... After that, my computer was up and running like nothing happened and Im happy to say, I can go back to work. Thank you so much Sean, youre the best!
Found what I needed. They helped us even when we didnt ask which is great service
Long drive but worthwhile. Prices always lowest and supplies limited in purchase quantities to serve the most possible customers.
Has a very large selection of pc components and accessories. Its nice to still have a brick and mortar store to look at stuff and make an informed decision. Usually has stuff on sale.
Which they were still in other states. Best tech store
Great customer service. Great prices. Worth the drive
Its hard not to geek out when I go here. Love Micro Center.
I love this place even though I have no professional training when it comes down to electronics I feel like a kid in a candy store because its so many different selections so many different brands and the staff is very knowledgeable know about what they try to sell you or what youre looking
Wasnt sure what I needed, but they quickly got me sorted. Helpful & patient staff. Lots & lots of tech goodness.
I like everyone that works there. I went to pick up a cable for headphones, and the guy who helped me was a professional, very knowledgeable.
Everything you hated about other, now defunct big computer stores is fixed at Microcenter. I have been recommending it for decades. Helpful, ready available staff, a huge selection, and a web site that sends you to the right aisle all make for a pleasant experience.
Terrible customer service. Garbage stock. over priced. Just go to best buy.
Great experience at the Micro Center. Excellent customer service and they were able to resolve my computer issue in a short amount of time. Thanks to Noah for his excellent service. I would use this company again.
Great place to get electronics at good prices
Micro Center always has the parts I’m looking for, except for any individual GPUs (because of the shortage). However, the staff is very kind and are always willing to help.
I have been shopping at Microcenter when it first opened in Cleveland Ohio. Sadly it closed down Santa Clara CA. Thus is the only real computer stores in the USA.
